Mary was a great host, location was nice and easy to find, great water view from our room, breakfast awesome, delicious scones, community table so it was nice to have a conversation with a fellow guest family one of our mornings. We walked 1/2 mile to the restaurant near the water, and had our reservation ahead of time at Mary's suggestion. It was great since there are not a lot of options close by. The food at Rose's (Rosie's?) was delicious. We found Mary to be welcoming and helpful and definitely this was one of our top two locations in our two week stay in Ireland.

Nothing! There are stairs to the room we had so it could be a problem for elderly or people with mobility issues.

The property was lovely, clean, well appointed with a beautiful claw foot bathtub and great rain shower shower head. The view from our bedroom, overlooking the river, was so peaceful and “tranquil”. It was misty and typical Irish weather which added to the charm! Mary was a wonderful host. The breakfasts were delicious, flaky scones and made to order eggs and all the fixings. We enjoyed getting to know Mary and her daughter. Mary was helpful in giving us “tourist” information and helping us plan our visit. We highly recommend Tranquil Water.

There’s nothing to dislike.

Quiet peaceful stay for two nights. Located not too far from cobh, this was ideal for us and well priced. A handful of places to visit nearby if you are into beaches and villages. Great breakfast and a lovely host who was very good with us and especially our little son. The room was small but well kept, clean and we had comfortable sleep. All basic amenties you expect for this kind of a stay are provided. No TV, but not a deal breaker if you are not staying indoors or have other things planned. Overall, a pleasant stay!

Beautiful location overlooking the water in a rural setting. The host Mary was very welcoming and went out of her way to make us comfortable.

We stayed in the shepherds hut which is separate to the main house. The bed is against the wall one side which makes it a little difficult getting in and out. The shower is small with the ceiling curving in. Could be a problem for tall guests. Not a lot of room to put your clothes and suitcases.

Mary is an excellent host, she is amazingly helpful and welcoming, we really enjoyed meeting her. She is an accomplished artist and has many of her works on display in the house. Her homemade scones and rhubarb compote were delicious and I loved having whisky added to my porridge!

Our room was directly above the kitchen and I could hear everything that went on in there. Maybe ask for a room at the other end of the house if you are sensitive to sound. The room itself was lovely and well furnished.

I'm a guide so I've stayed in a lot of places in Ireland and this was one of my favourite stays. It's out on its own on a tranquil backwater of cobh harbour. I'm glad I stayed in this area it was a wonderful surprise off the beaten track and the room, breakfast and host were exceptional. A perfect base to explore Cork and surrounds. An truly marvellous experience I wish i stayed longer. Thank you 😊

There's nothing I didn't like.

We loved our stay at Tranquil Waters. Mary was an amazing host - so hospitable, warm and friendly. We felt very welcome and she gave us plenty of helpful tips and ideas for our travels in the area. Room was gorgeous with beautiful view. Comfy bed, great shower. Clean and tidy. Complimentary tea and coffee in room. Breakfast in the morning was amazing. Fresh home-made bread, lots of fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, etc. Beautiful and handy location to see all the best Cork has to offer. Just a great retreat. We'd come back in a heartbeat.

We loved the wonderful peaceful location, out of town and on the water. Mary's breakfasts were delicious, especially the homemade scones with homemade Blackberry jam. She gave us great suggestions for walks, seeing a lighthouse and whales, along with the tip to eat at Rosie's Bar, just down the hill. So yummy. Mary is very warm and friendly.

There were no outlets anywhere convenient for blow-drying one's hair. I finally used one behind the bed, but there is no mirror or any way to see what one is doing. The bed was quite hard, but that seems to be normal for Ireland and some of our breakfast dishes weren't clean.

This property truly lives up to its name. We felt tranquil as we viewed Cork Harbor from our room. As the first stay in our tour around Ireland, it gave us the needed beginning rest and then was a great hub to explore around the area. Mary made us feel right at home. The house provided pretty much everything we needed and there was a pub within walking distance for an evening meal and a pint.

Absolutely nothing!

The Studio with the sea view is absolutely perfect. We loved the simplicity, the comfort and the privacy. In the evenings we sat outside and drank wine while watching the sunset over the water. Mary was supremely helpful and brought us freshly made scones, bread and the best raspberry jam ever. The books by well known Irish writers were also a bonus.
