The Snug Townhouse

Wonderful experience at the Snug Townhouse. The location in it's self is an amazing experience. It's conveniently located in the heart of one of Galway's most lively streets. Plenty of local shops, restaurants and bars just steps from the Snug Townhouse. The Snug is beautifully designed with comfortable but modern decor. Rooms are small but well designed to have everything you need - hairdryer, towels, tv, coffee/tea station. Enjoying Galway with the Snug Townhouse is worth the trade off for room size. Great reception and team available to help and up kept this hidden gem.

I love this hotel. The interior design is really cool and everything is very nice and clean. The staff are lovely and the location is amazing. It's super close to loads of great food spots and the nightlife is buzzing. I'd definitely stay here again.

The vending machine was right outside our room door. It's extremely loud and people tend to buy water after midnight coming back from nights out. The vending machine speaks to you at full volume and the thud of the bottles woke me up numerous times. Bring decent earplugs with you as there is a lot of noise outside on the main street which doesn't subside until about 2-3am. If you have good earplugs it's grand. The ones provided don't really work.

The property is really cute and new but of course the BEST part is the location! It’s in the middle of everything. Right out the door is The Quays pub, the cutest coffee shop on the planet and a very short walk to the water/beach and the river walk behind it. They also hooked us up with a great tour to Cliffs of Moher and other stops along the way.

Our bedroom window was on the street so it was loud until late and then again early in the morning with garbage and recycling pickup. They supply ear plugs but it didn’t actually bother us much at all. We’re thought it was well worth the convenience of the location!!

Location was amazing, could not have been closer to all the major attractions and shops! Staff were super helpful and facilitating. The rooms are described in the name… very snug! But perfect as we were only staying the night and needed somewhere comfortable to stay. The room itself was spotless, cleverly designed and the best part.. air conditioned! We were delighted as we couldn’t hear anything from the street (which was unbelievably noisy) but there was even ear plugs left for us if we needed. Brilliant place to stay for couples or a few friends if you want somewhere simple and comfortable for a few nights! Will definitely be returning :)

The air conditioning was fantastic as normally other places would be very stuffy, our only problem was that we had no way to control it (well as far as we know) so sometimes it ended up getting a bit chilly but still better than being roasting!

This hotel was an amazing home base. The staff was kind and suggested local pubs and restaurants for us that we wouldn’t have checked out otherwise. The room itself was everything we needed. Small, but that’s what we signed up for. Even though it was small it didn’t feel cramped because there was a good amount of storage space. The small touches in this room make it a luxurious hotel experience! We stayed in 5 hotels during our road trip to Ireland and this was our favorite. I wish that they had Snug Townhouse’s in every city we visited.

This property is truly in the middle of the liveliest part of Galway, that being said it did get a little bit loud at night. But! The hotel provided earplugs :-)

Great location, but it is central and in the main entertainment area, so not quiet. we had a ground floor room, there are no lifts. Bed was comfortable bathroom was large the staff were friendly and helpful

we did not ask for a disabled room, I did not raise this issue as it was on the ground floor, however the large bathroom use space in the design which left the room smaller. the fittings were perfect for a disabled person, but wardrobe space and the design was not suited for an a able bodied couple with luggage, so everything was on the floor. This is really a room rather than a Hotel, no facilities outside the rooms.

The location was right in the heart of the city and close walking distances to food and attractions. The staff was amazing, especially Marcos. He helped us to our room and gave excellent recommendations for the area. The room was clean and roomy, with every amenity needed. The bed was super comfortable. It also was very secure, as the hotel insures only guest can enter.

This didn’t bother me because the bed was so comfy I slept very well, but do take notice it’s in the middle of the night life so music was playing late into the night. The hotel did have earplugs in the room.

Location was great. Close to parking and right there in the Latin Quarter. This is a place to sleep, not a place to hang out. It's called The Snug for a reason. It's tiny, but comfortable, safe and clean. The water pressure in the shower was great and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room had a skylight and the shade did an almost too good of a job keeping the morning light out. We would have slept until noon had we not set an alarm.

Wish it was a little bigger for it was a bit difficult with two medium sized suit cases, but we made do by using the space underneath the bed as well. Becoming all too common in Europe now, one must use your room key to turn on the lights in the room.

This place is in the best location, right in the heart of the tourist area in Galway. Having said that, our room was very quiet, so we didn't have to hear the nightlife at bedtime. The staff were very friendly and helpful, giving great recommendations for restaurants, pubs and sights. The room was modernly furnished, and the shower was very nice and modern.

We stayed in The Snug Room, and let me tell you, they aren't kidding! It's a bed and a bathroom (both very nice!) and that's about it. There was no room for us to open our luggage, nor was there a closet to put our things in. This space met our needs because all we needed it for was sleeping and showering, but if you like to have space in your accommodations, this might not be for you.

Located in the heart of Quay street, you can't choose a better location if you want to see the bustling Irish pub scene from up close. The triple studio room was decently sized and clean. Staff was welcoming and immediately looked into the issue with the air conditioner when we reported it.

1. The rent was EUR 314 for a night, which is a lot for a room in a townhouse (not a hotel). But for some reason, worse properties in the city of Galway had similar or higher rates when I was searching. 2. The room was freezing when we entered and we wanted it to be a bit less colder (even though it was a hot summer day in Galway). We raised the temperature of the air conditioner and this foul smell started to come out of it. We reported the same to the manager while we were heading out for the night and he looked into the straight away. When we got back to the hotel later in the night, the smell was gone and the temperature was perfect.
