The hotel is a 6/7 minute walk from Damascus Gate, which was very convenient for us. Our room was very comfortable. The beds and linens were great. The shower was powerful and the aircon worked very well, an essential given how hot it actually was. On our first night, we arrived late, when the kitchens were closing, and they kept the kitchen open so we could have something to eat. The breakfasts were delicious Palestinian fare, and very varied. Honestly, the staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. The owner Raid was delightful.

We liked everything!

Everything was great. It's a family-run hotel that treats guests warmly. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else in Jerusalem. The location is perfect, a few minutes walk to the Old City (Damascus Gate entrance), near all transportation. This is a hotel "with character," not a plastic chain hotel or the kind that might be in any city in the world. Great breakfast. I had actually considered "splurging" and staying at a much more expensive hotel (e.g., American Colony) but then I remembered my short stay here before and realized I'd be much happier here in every way (and also supporting a family with roots here rather than some foreign-owned hotel). I made the right choice. My only regret is that I couldn't stay longer (even after extending my stay from 5 days to 6).

I can't think of anything I didn't like. This is not the hotel for you if you come to Israel as a "Jewish supremacist" with no respect for Palestinian culture. (I am Jewish myself. Whatever your religion or ethnicity, your respect will be returned and you will feel comfortable and well-treated here.)

Everything about this hotel was perfect. The manager of the hotel was our guide for 3 half days in the old city and showed us parts that we never would have seen. We were there on October 7th. when war broke out and the entire staff could not have been more accommodating and comforting to make us feel as though we were part of their family not guests in a hotel. The restaurant staff went out of its way on days when they were understaffed to make sure that we had delicious food available at all times. We stayed in place at the hotel until October 11th when we could finally get a flight. We felt as though we were leaving part of our family behind because we had all become so close in such stressful times.

We have both traveled around the world and honestly cannot think of a single thing that we would think needs change. The hotel was run beautifully with warm friendly staff and the location was only a few blocks away from everything.

This is a small Arab hotel a stone´s throw from the Damasus gate, in a 19th century building, but with a modern “greenhouse” in front. Lovely decorated, large room, quiet despite being close to a major bus station. The breakfast was good and lunch which we had once very good. Staff were polite and friendly. The location is very handy for both the old city and also not too far away from other parts of the city, especially as we mixed walking with taxis (using the GETT app, which is a blessing).

The room didn´t have a view, but on the other hand it was quiet which we had asked for.

I loved the fact that this is a family run business, with a wealth of knowledge about the Old City and the country. The owner was very approachable and on site throughout most of our stay. He has a 3d model of the Old City downstairs which was fascinating. All the staff were very approachable, friendly, kind and made us feel very much at home. They felt like part of the family. They play a big part in making our stay so memorable. The breakfast was lovely and I'd like to give a special shout out to the lovely chefs Zahra and Ali who made the most delicious aubergines with cheese. Check in was a breeze. The staff allowed us to keep our luggage there 2 days before we checked in. The decor was lovely and traditional with lots of antique pieces. The upstairs lobby was a relaxed place for us to catch up daily with our friends. The hotel is just across the road from the Damascus gate, so approx a 10/15 minute walk to the Al Aqsa Compound. I honestly can't fault the hotel and look forward to booking with them again in the future.

To be honest, not much. I feel there could be a full length mirror in our room. The room was slightly cosy for 2 suitcases so they were always in the way.

The Jerusalem hotel deserves much more credit than it gets online as the staff are exceptional. The hotel has been owned by a family for generations who all go out of their way to make your stay exceptional. We were meant to stay with them for 2 nights but we were unable to cross the king Hussein border so had to cancel the morning of our stay. The hotel was very responsive to our situation and refunded us for one night of our stay. We were very grateful as it was our fault for not knowing the hours of the border closing during Yom Kippur. However later that week, we were able to stay in Jerusalem for one night and we asked if we could use the one night stay we had paid for and without a hesitation they said yes! We were so grateful for this compromise and generous offer. The facilities are lovely and the hotel is super close to the old city. In fact, it’s so convenient that you can even catch the bus to the border by walking 6 minutes to the golden walls hotel. I cannot say enough about how magical the place is and how comfortable the Ed’s are. Would really recommend to stay here! Additionally we ate at the restaurant. Breakfast was a wide array of warm middle eastern breakfast options (lots of veggie and vegan options) as well as lots of cold options like cereal etc. Dinner was delicious! Like honestly our favourite meal of the whole trip. I’ve attached a photo below for you. Please don’t overlook this hotel as you’re missing out on the best hospitality and feeling like you’re staying at a home away from home. We can’t wait to go back!

Pretty much everything. This hotel was fantastic. While it may not be a modern hotel, it has all the charm and comfort you would expect out of one. It is very close to Damascus Gate, which makes visiting the Old City incredibly convenient. The staff are super accommodating and the rooms were nice.

The only thing I didn't like was the shower. The glass partition for the shower was tiny, so if you don't use the personal sprayer, the bathroom becomes soaked all over the place. This is so minor, but I thought it would be fair to offer the advice to simply use the sprayer instead.

The place was very nice and didnt give the vibe of a hotel, more like an extended family home. The furniture and decor had such an antique feel that adds a lot of charm instead of just concrete. The family and the staff just go out of their way to be helpful and make you feel like part of the family. They are very attentive, courteous, sincere and helpful. You certainly cant ask more from the entire group from ownership to staff. If you want to feel like that you are staying at a home away from home, this is certainly a great place to look at. Rooms get sold out very quickly because of all of the above. It is also very close to the tram station (Damascus Gate...a 5 minute walk) and right across the Nablus bus terminal (half a minute walk :) Breakfast is also good with some nice choices. And the BEST thing about breakfast is that even though it starts only at 7.30 or so, you could still get something to eat as early as 6 am !!!! because they allow you to eat whatever that has been already prepared and if you have an early morning tour. Imagine that. Can ANY hotel even remotely match that ??.

Only thing I found it hard was the lack of English channels on TV......LOL, but then one is not staying at the hotel for the TV channels. There are tons of channels but pbly only about 2 or 3 English channels and that too only news. I will not consider this as a deal breaker.

A traditional style boutique hotel. Very good location, good breakfast, very nice bathroom with excellent shower. A good hotel restaurant with tasty food. We were eating there for every meal because of the war.

The room could be improved. We booked a double bedroom with a balcony, one bedside has no space to put a bedside table, therefore you need to put things on the floor such as a phone, water etc. No bottle of water was provided in the room, and they only gave you 2 paper cups in the room for coffee or tea with no teaspoon, so we had to go to the kitchen to ask for.

This hotel pays tribute to its root creating an authentic experience. Owner (Raed) is so pleasant and calm. He offered us a welcoming drink…”you are home now so just relax”. This hotel is so lovely from people to the antiques that adorn the building- it’s truly - a Jerusalem experience. Our room was spacious, gave us a feel of staying in an old castle. It was clean with balcony access, the beds were comfortable and power shower was an added bonus. Breakfast was a little minimalist but everything tasted lovely. The hotel lobby areas are so lovely to relax and unwind. The location is perfect only 3 minutes from the Damascus gate with plenty of food options around.

WiFi was a little weak in the bedroom however the lobby areas have comfortable seating to wire up.
