Great location- just inside Jaffa Gate, entrance to the Old City. Room- I booked early got a nice size room with a lovely big bed. All amenities included- fridge, tea/coffee station, safe, on-suite bathroom. Rooftop balcony- provides a nice view from the top onto the courtyard of King David's Citadel and entrance to the Old City at Jaffa Gate. Beautiful dining room and lounge. Great selection of Mediterranean/Arabic dishes for breakfast. Central Tea, Coffee (freshly ground filter coffee) and Water Station on 1st floor next to Reception Desk available 24hrs.

Using the stairs might be a challenge for elderly guests or thse with mobility problems. The elevator/lift was not functioning. I,however, had no complaints.

Super location and a truly authentic old-city hotel, but expect noise. Staff very helpful and owner/manager very friendly. Beautiful modern shower-room was a nice surprise. Free coffee and tea 24/7, but no milk...so ask for some or get some from breakfast. Big fridge in the room plus an excellent coffee machine and kettle. Roof top area very pleasant...and a great view into the light shows at The Tower. Great lounge area; very comfortable.

Need some hooks for towels in bathroom. And some hooks for coats in bedroom. The wardrobe is very small and it's difficult to put big things away . Breakfast was good for Mediterranean tastes: lots of salads, but not much for UK/USA tastes. Eggs cooked till like rubber. Bread was disappointing: some of the many varieties of local bread would have been welcome. Jams were very poor quality. Juices really strange flavours and artificial...no orange juice, despite it being citrus season when we were there. Balcony area should be cleaned. Ours was filthy and covered in old cigarette ends.

This is a great atmospheric hotel just within the gates of the old city. It is superbly located for sightseeing, you literally step out amongst the monuments. From the rooftop terrace you have a lovely view across the city and David’s tower. Plenty of eateries, shops and cafe’s are right on the doorstep. The single room was small but very convenient and clean, excellent value for money especially with the good breakfast buffet that was included. Best of all though is the staff. They are all super helpful and friendly and go above and beyond to assist. Would very much recommend!

Staff very welcoming and helpful when we needed to know something. Location was excellent. The market wasn't far. Lots of things to see in Jerusalem but didn't have time.

There were ants in the bathroom. There were no lifts. In the rooms tea and coffee were available but it was powdered milk in sachets. Could have been better with proper milk. Breakfast buffet food didn't get topped up nearer to the end time. Our window view in our room were facing the generators. So there was constant noise all the time.

Location was the best you can ask for! walking distance to Old Jerusalem and major sites, perfect stay to get around Jerusalem and staff were very nice, breakfast was also good. Highly Recommended, we got a balcony room which is well worth it to soak up the atmosphere and people watch this beautiful culture and people. There is also a Roof Terrace with amazing views! This property is unique and special, we really loved it, it was one of the highlights to our 2 weeks trip, and we have very fond memories, We hope to go back to Jerusalem and would definitely be staying here again.

I don't have anything to complain about but if I had to mention something it would probably be that maybe the bed was a little small, and pillows and bed were not the most comfortable, and there are no elevators, but everything else was great and these things were not critical for what you are getting in return.

The hotel location is perfect. It is right in the centre of the old city of Jerusalem, very close, walking distance to all major attractions. The hotel is beautifully decorated and maintained its original style, amazing roof top that allows us to enjoy it any time of the day with a perfect view of Jerusalem. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful.

In one of the single rooms, the window is unable to open. The double room was quite small and there was not enough room to store our suitcases.

The hotel is located just inside of the Jaffa Gate in Old Jerusalem. The location was excellent. There were taxis outside of the hotel. The rooftop had a magical view of the Old City to Mt. Olives. The staff was very helpful. My room in the hotel faced a courtyard so it was not very noisy at night. The breakfast was great, Middle Eastern style with lots of fresh vegetable salads, humus; but eggs and meets were available. The breakfast made for a great start of the day. The hotel had a lot of old world charm. The room had heating and A/C. The price was right considering I was there during the busiest time of the year: Holy Week, Ramadan, Passover.

No complaints. However there are no elevators and those needing one should look elsewhere. This was not a problem for me, so I had no problems.

Hotel was in am excellent location just inside the Jaffa gate and across from the castle. We had a triple room with a balcony facing the plaza and castle which was a plus. Saff was very friendly and helpful and the rooftop views are picture perfect with several tables to eat at. Room had a refrigerator, coffee maker and tea kettle. Beds were very comfortable and breakfast was excellent with a large selection. Air-conditioning was very cool especially after a hot afternoon. No parking but it was not such an issue since it was a short walk over to the Mall just across from Jaffa gate. From there they have two elevators to subterranean parking garage at "Karta Parking:. Just cross the covered bridge from Jaffa Gate down some steps to the mall then elevators are off to the left in the mall. Also a Pharmacy and mini-mart is located at street level of the hotel building. Many restaurants are close by. Take not of restaurants on side street leading back of hotel.

Street noise may be an issue with some people though we are used to it.

The New Imperial Hotel is a quirky 19th century building inside Jerusalem’s Old City with an extraordinary history, including being the place where the Kaiser stayed on his trip to Jerusalem. It is a few minutes walk from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and, just by Jaffa Gate and the Citadel of David, it feels right at the centre of things. It has a charming owner and staff and a roof terrace which was very little used while we were there but has great views over the city. Our room and bathroom were spacious and comfortable with good air-con.

By the end of our ten day stay my husband was a bit tired of the limited options for a hot breakfast - largely different variations of eggs. I love things like aubergine and courgette for breakfast and the buffet at the New Imperial suites me down to the ground. There is no lift which was a bit tough when we arrived. Electricity arrived after the hotel was built and the main accessible sockets in our room were above pillow level which meant we sometimes accidentally turned the light on or off by moving. But this was part of its overall quirkiness and charm.
