The Sydney Hotel

the location is great, near the highway, and also the city center (20 minutes by public transport)

The reception recommended us to go to the center by car or taxi. it turned out that public transport is 1.5 euros per person and it is 20 minutes away from the center. A taxi costs 15-25 euros, and if you come to the city by car, you have to pay for parking, which costs a lot (2-3 euros per hour, which is unprofitable for the whole day). Also, they were not helpful when asking about the possibility of food.

Everything was clean, the beds were comfy, the room had airconditioning, the reception staff was helpful and quick to respond whenever I contacted them via booking messages prior to our arrival. The room service was excellent, our bathroom was always spotless clean and the room tidy whenever we returned from a day out. We also loved the outdoor swimming pool. Very clean and refreshing when it's hot outside. During our stay, there was a renovation going on at the lobby - this didn't disrupt our vacation at all, it was just nice to see that the hotel strives to improve!

The location was the only small inconvenience. One can reach the city centre within 30 mins - by a 15min walk and then a short bus journey. When it's very hot though, the walking becomes unbearable. Apart from this though everything was perfect, and I can only recommend this hotel!

Great Hotel, staff so welcoming, friendly and helpful at all times and can't speak more highly of them ... Hotel Sydney is immaculately clean and we found our room to be spacious and well equipped, with hotel in general being well appointed, with spacious communal areas inc Reception, lovely Pool, Sun Terrace and Dining area ...

It could be that some would find it's location challenging as is located couple.miles from central Bologna, but buses and taxis are ready available and inexpensive. From our perspective, we were aware of the above before our stay and as such was no problem...

The hotel is a perfect place both for a weekend and for workation in the summer, which I had. The room was beyond my expectation for the price range that was presented, and the hotel included pool which I enjoyed most. The staff is very professional, they consulted me on getting around the city. I had no problem with anything at all and enjoyed my stay to the fullest.

The hotel is located in a rather uncomfortable location for public transportation. I had to walk around 2 km each time to get on a city bus to get to the tourist locations. Be ready to use taxi a lot if walking is not the options.

It was an amazing experience to be their guest! Very warm and welcoming staff in the hotel! Everywhere. Went to Bologna Centre and took a cap on their advise and glad I did! Not everywhere is safe to go in Bologna, felt pretty unsafe here and there. Once you enter the Centre it’s filled with lovely people, local bad tourists.

I didn’t like the buffet they’ve had now due to the renovation. I choose to stay in the hotel for dinner but I didn’t like much (only salmon and salad) and that made the 2 evenings very expensive if you don’t eat that much. The food on the buffet looked amazing and if you like meat and fish they have plenty to choose!

Large clean, modern room. Good value. Nice food. Great pool, deep enough to dive at one end, lots of sun loungers and a poolside bar and restaurant. All making this a great stop-over hotel for families.

It didn't bother us as we were using the hotel simply as a stop-over on our drive, but if you were looking for a hotel within walking distance (or even an easy bus) of the city centre, this may not be the hotel for you. We wanted to be near the skatepark, which it is, but otherwise the hotel is surrounded by industrial buildings. At night though, when you can't see the surrounding industrial buildings, the way the pool / poolside bar and restaurant is lit up, the place looks lovely and could be anywhere you imagine :-) We would come back.

The check-in staff were very helpful after an initial misunderstanding. The room was clean and well-appointed. The pool was great. Being able to park for free was a bonus. The location is not particularly inspiring but it's convenient for the airport and it didn't cost too much to get into the centre of the city by taxi. And the breakfast was great.

The buffet dinner seemed rather expensive – especially as we only wanted one course rather than two/three. For two adults and two children it would have been 120 euros before we'd even had a drink. This forced us to go into town when we would probably have happily eaten at the hotel if it had been a little cheaper.

Great facilities, comfortable room, air con worked well in the intense heat. Great bathroom and shower. Plenty of parking, made use of the bag storage after checking out whilst we visited the Lamborghini and Ducati factory museums on our motorcycle. The restaurant was fantastic - probably the best quality meal of our 4 week trip! Good location - on edge of city but easy access to main roads and motorway. Would stay again if visiting Bologna.

Swimming pool shuts at 7pm so didn’t get a swim in as we only arrived at 6:30pm. Very busy reception desk, but staff were doing their best to serve everyone quickly and efficiently.

It is a nice place with great value for money. If you take it like this you will enjoy your stay there. The breakfast is good and has quite a big variety. Also they refill all morning. The pool area is nice to hang out. Even a lifeguard is on duty. Great place for a few days in bologna.

It is a good value for money hotel. Therefore the rooms are ok, the breakfast good and the pool a nice option to hang out there. But don't expect luxury for the price. It is little details that would require some renovation. Also it is a bit of a drive or walk for the bus station into town. But ok.

Wow. I love it here and don't want to leave! You should stay at least 2 nights because the FOOD is AMAZING!!! Along with the pool of course, which serves drinks. . The staff is attentive, reserved, and polite. Best included hotel breakfast I have ever witnessed! I made a minute long video - that's how long it took to show very quickly the entire spread! Great coffee/expresso machine! Rooms are comfortable, sound proof, black out curtains, gorgeous bathroom with tub. Great value for the money!!!! You get all the stars!

Wifi only worked on cell phones not laptop. Fitness room a bit small. Everything else is perfect!!
