AC Hotel Bologna by Marriott

Close to the center, pleasant personnel.

A prior guest had smoked in the room, so the place reeked of cigarettes when we checked in. Front desk handled it very well - we were given a replacement room immediately. That said, housekeeping should keep an eye on these things before considering the room ready for the next guest. The bathroom door is smoked glass, one of those that don't truly close - you can almost squeeze a finger between the door and the frame. I don't understand how room designers can be so tone deaf. Stop reinventing the door, designers: even people that share a room have a right to privacy in the toilet.

The room was spacious, very clean and everything perfectly in order and the interior had a luxurious touch. The design of the bathroom was a bit special, even exquisite. Breakfast was excellent with lots of options and all presented very nicely. Wifi was high speed and worked very well.

The bed was far too firm for me. It's a pity because it clearly had a negative effect on the sleeping quality. Sad since all the rest of the hotel experience was very, very good. The bed is the only reason I'm not rating the hotel as exceptional.

Very modern, very clean, we loved the location; right opposite is the old rail depot that is now a very modern sports/entertainment complex. Its bar, called Kinotto, serves excellent drinks and beers with great music, we loved that the people would gather there in the evenings and hang out. The hotel is also a 15 min walk from the train station, very handy if you want to catch the train for day trips around the city

We didn't like that the standard rooms didn't have tea and coffee making facilities, not even a kettle, which even the most basic rooms have these days.

There is a reason it costs what it costs and the name is associated with Marriott: One of the best hotels we stayed in Italy, much better than other 4 stars hotels. Modern, elegant, clean, room is spacious enough. Reception staff is helpful and breakfast is also one of the best we had in Italy, quite diverse and delicious. We would stay here again or try the chain in other cities as we left with a very good impression.

We lost some time until we reached the hotel as Google Maps insisted on guiding through a street which we were not allowed to enter. The parking entrance could be signalised better. But overall very good experience. City center is 30 min walking, but public transportation is available.

- Being a 4 stars and quite expensive hotel, it should include a boiler in the room. - Same comment for the breakfast, it was good but for this kind of hotel, you can expect more, especially for fresh fruits and hot food (there were no scrumbled eggs!). - The slamming room doors are really annoying. You should be able to do something about that. - Rooms could be cleaner, there was some dust on the bedside table.

If you've been to Marriott before, you know what to expect. Rooms nice, claen, bed comfortable, mini bar, big TV. You can open the window :) Breakfast delicious. Nice and helpful staff. Location- when you want to get to the airport is great- only 10 minutes by taxi and only 20 euro, but if you want to get to the main city center is almost 40 minutes walk. Lidl is very near.

Neighbourhood is not necessarily safe. Only one small bottle of water (free of charge)- in room for 2 people.

Room was spacious enough, comfortably furnished and with comfortable beds too. A very pleasant bath room! Very helpful staff on the reception desk - prompt, kind, efficient. And our special admiration for the bar tender in the breakfast room - the best way to start your trip to Bolognja is meeting him first. Good choices for breakfast and a very nice italian coffee of course. The location is like 30min walking distance to the main square and the way to is easy to direct, vivid and pleasant. On the way back, if not taking a taxi (app.15€) or bus (No:21), it means it would probably take like 50min. for your tired feet. But we are the type of travelers who would never replace the comfort of the modern hotel with the overpriced imperial time buildings in the center. A big advantage is the hotel car parking together with the easy access to city center or the high way. Many thanks for everything, AC Bologna hotel !

Just a bit more colors accents in the room, like paintings or fabrics etc...

Nice modern hotel. Centrally located between train station and centre of Bologna where the action is. Easy walks to both. While the hotel looks very nice, it was quite noisy inside and could easily hear street traffic and neighbors through walls at times. The neighborhood that the hotel is in is quiet and more residential/commercial - so limited dining etc in the evening. Hotel is kitty corner to a super market which was awesome to grab waters/snacks for cheap.

The hotel is very nice. The room was clean and spacious. The hotel is about 10-15 min walk from the train station, and in the opposite direction from the main walking street and city center. So maybe not the best location for visiting the center, but not extremely far either.

The bathroom door is made of glass - see through :( Moreover, the bathroom door is smaller that it should be, and thus does not perfectly isolate heat/steam/humidity from the shower, smells etc. The hotel does not offer slippers.

Food was good both for breakfast and in the evenings. The room was cosy and had almost all the needed facilities. Pretty comfortable king size bed. The room was clean and they kept it clean daily.

Slippers are not included in the standard double room rate, and as they're for sure needed during your stay, we had to pay an extra fee of 5 EUR for each pair. Complementary water included just a single bottle of stillwater to share.
