Hotel Montebello Splendid

Overall the decor and grounds quite formal and very comfortable. Multiple areas inside and outside to unwind. The bartender was quite professional and accommodating.

The type of room advertised on Booking.com (a sofa bed and double) apparently does not exist at this hotel. Hotel informed me it was a Booking.com error. When I booked this hotel online, I paid more for the option of having the sofa bed. The hotel advised no accommodations would be made. Didnt seem to be much to do in the immediate area surrounding the hotel.

Room was great and balcony view was wonderful. Staff was very helpful and accommodating - very helpful for when we rented a car and needed a place to park. Breakfast was good/servers were helpful

Some of the USB chargers in the room did not work. Location was a bit far from the main action of Florence - which is fine, but just know it's a bit of a hike.

It’s a very beautiful place, close to most things if you don’t mind a short walk. The first room we were given had a terrible odor (smelled like sewage) and the shower faucet was broken. When we complained about the odor and faucet , we were first told we couldn’t switch rooms. But then when we spoke to Viola (front desk) she took care of us immediately. We were given a different room in what seemed to be a newer part of the hotel and I must say it was lovely! Don’t expect much from the air conditioning, it barely cooled the room off( it was 100 degrees) but it was better than none! The restaurant is not worth visiting unless you have breakfast included with your stay. We. Ade the mistake of going there for dinner after a long day of travel, and it was disappointing. Other than that, it was quite nice, thanks to viola who took exceptional care of us.

I found that the staff went above and beyond to make my birthday stay a fantastic one. Every single staff member was just fantastic. The bell boy, to the lady who arranged my flowers, to the reception guys , to the cleaner amberese who was on his second day but my room was gleaming and he was so professional and said hello whenever we passed him. The hotel is very modern and has that real Italian feel and the breakfast was amazing once you sat down and ordered a la carte. It was so tasty and again the staff couldn’t do enough for you.

It didn’t feel like a 5 star with regards to facility choices. I do feel like we were slight overcharged for our stay when you look at 5 star choices in Milan and they have like amazing spas and other facilities. I wouldn’t recommend the breakfast in the room as this tray didn’t not outweigh the cost. Get up and go down to the restaurant.

Location was close to the river Arno (just 1 minute walking and you will reach it). And the area was really clean and quite. The general atmosphere was cozy and diffusers provided a nice smell in the entrance area.

Didn't like the complications when checking in to provide me with the room I already reserved (big room and sofa bed). They claimed that I need to add this note at the time of reservation because they can't guarantee it! Then what was the point of the reservation!

Comfortable bed and pillows and quiet room. The hotel gave a lot of privacy. We felt like we were the only guests there although the hotel was fully booked. The restaurant was very nice. Waiter very attentive and pleasant. The food was excellent. Very nice decor and ambiance.

The only criticism is that they did not provide free water. Mini bar was expensive and not much choice. Free tea but not free coffee.

The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The hotel felt luxurious. We spent the second night in a very private suite that was annexed to the hotel. This was offered to us at no extra cost. Again, the staff were excellent.

Our stay was one to fondly remember and a great beginning to our tour of Florence.

Super, convenient and quiet location. Staff were first class, extremely friendly and helpful, We had room with a balcony which was great for sitting and relaxing. Attractive ambience.

Only difficulty we had was with shower controls being very stiff and difficult to turn.

Amazing set-up, with large and quiet spaces. Very close to the main train station and at walking distance from the river and the main sightseeings of the city. Despite not being too central (a bit away from the mess of the touristic places) it is still located in a very quiet and beautiful area—I recommend the nearby Pasticceria Gamberini for breakfast, excellent! Very easy check in and check out, friendly staff.

The bathroom is very luxurious but the Jacuzzi tub is a little worn out. Everything works fine, but a little renovation would improve the looks. I cannot think of anything else than this, all the rest was perfect!

it was beautiful, charming, spotlessly clean and very easy to get to from the station. staff were very helpful, very polite and knowledgeable. it’s a classic hotel. The breakfasts were wonderful with cold and hot options. I would thoroughly recommend it.
