Hotel Ariele

My wife and I were really impressed by the hotel. High quality modern furnishings. Really clean rooms and a large comfortable bed. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Fantastic breakfast.

Hardly a dislike, but it would be good if there was food available in the evening with the apertivo. After a tiring day in the city we didn't necessarily want to eat out every night.

The hotel is quaint and clean, newly renovated and fresh. The staff is friendly and helpful. We had a noisy room when we first checked in and we asked for a different one so we were given a new and upgraded room :) The breakfast was delicious!

The fact that there is a construction site right in front of the hotel is not very convenient but if you ask for a room on the quiet side all should good :)

the property was newly updated. the rooms were quite large by European standards. bed and pillows very comfortable. Breakfast was fresh with many delicious choices

only issue was shower drain was very slow resulting in water spillage on floor. informed front desk staff but it didn’t get fixed.

It's a nice place to be but the staff at the reception (Michaela, Theo, Rebecca) is the best: friendly but polite, helpful and resourceful. The breakfast is very tasty and the coordinator (Irina) and her team are just great.

Not really the fault of the hotel but there are works in the front of the hotel which could be disturbing in the morning but only during the week. Not really noisy works in the week after 5 PM and in weekends.

A very good breakfast selection and pleasant staff. The location was good although in a part of the city where lots of development is happening so during the weekdays lots of construction noises early in the morning

The location was great, walking distance to the tourist attractions. The hotel was amazing, room was big and modern. Loved the breakfast, good variety. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely staying there again.

The hotel is newly renovated and clean.

The location is surrounded by construction of, what we were told, luxury apartments. This is no fault of the hotel but detrimental to the experience.

The receptionist was lovely, checking in was super quick and easy, room was modern and clean and lovely. Air con great. Bed very comfortable. Small minibar on offer and complimentary bottle of water that is refilled every day. The breakfast buffet was amazing and runs 7am - 10am. Lots of fresh warm pastries, fruits, cereals, eggs and bacon, antipasti, even some cakes and muffins. Various juices, water, coffee machine and tea. Even prosecco! And you can eat it in the beautiful, peaceful garden. Best way to start your day in Florence! The cascine park is nearby and quite a nice spot to go for a shaded walk away from the hectic busy part of town, and the piscine le pavoniere is about a 20min walk from the hotel through the park and a great, fairly cheap way to spend your day relaxing in the Summer if you don't have other plans! There is a nice Pasticceria - Sapiento & Crociani - just around the corner where you can get a pastry and a cappuccino for less than 3 €. Free wifi there also. And a Carrefour Express shop very close by. It's a lovely 20 minute stroll along the Arno down to the historical centre of town and to the Uffizi, it is exposed so very hot on a Summer afternoon, but it's the most direct route and more peaceful than walking through town. I also went to Galleria Accademia, you can get the bus or the tram and walk the remainder, about 25mins total, or walking will take about 30 mins.

Do not recommend walking from Firenze Santa Maria Novella station with rolly luggage, it was manageable for me but there were various rough cobblestone surfaces and I thought I was going to break the wheels off my luggage at one point. It's one stop on the tram which seems expensive at €1.70 for such a short journey but it's worth it, and much cheaper than getting a taxi. The tram/bus tickets last 90mins after validation so if you're super quick checking in and dumping your things, you could head back into town using the same ticket on the bus or tram (they are the same tickets) Although Ariele is a bit further out of town I found it to be a lovely quiet haven to walk back to at the end of a day of sightseeing.

The location was within walking distance to all the key tourist spots. I walked along the Arno River which was just around the corner from the hotel, visited the Uffizi Gallery, Pitti Palace, Boboli Gardens, Leonardo Da Vinci Interactive Museum, The Duomo & Museum, Officina Profumo SM Novella, Mercato Centrale. It’s also close to the nearest train station…hopped on a coach to Siena and Cinque Terre etc. Most importantly the staff were wonderful and very welcoming. Always available to help with any queries. I often got back late and my room would be sparkling clean and smelling gorgeous. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and will recommend Hotel Ariele for its hospitality and the fantastic location. It was a memorable experience for me as I travelled solo.

To be honest this is more of a precaution than a negative review. I booked most of my tours in the early hours of the morning, so I took early showers. I think the Hotel turns off the water heater to preserve energy when it’s less busy (middle of the night / early hours 01.00 - 04.00am) I’m assuming. So, once or twice the water was lukewarm but as soon as I called reception, it would be hot again within 5mins. Also noticed the same with the air conditioner, but I was told even though it was about 23 degrees celsius most days, it’s still considered winter for them in Florence in April. I was provided with a fan for ease because I, personally was hot…Though the temperature of the air con was set to 19 degrees celsius. So just be mindful of this. Apart from that everything else was excellent.

This hotel is really amazing, very nice people who welcome you each time you enter the hotel/breakfast room. The room was very clean, the sheets and the towels were changed every day, there was water in the fridge, breakfast was amazing!
