walking distance to the sights of Modena very affordable! friendly staff

This hotel is a real gem! We had a beautiful clean modern room with a lovely traditional old balcony with city views. The staff were welcoming and friendly and we even got to check in 2 hours earlier. Perfect location with only a short walk into town centre but restaurants and bars nearby. The breakfast was very good and set you up for the day Private shaded parking too. Been travelling through France and Italy for 2 weeks and this little hotel was my favourite.

Would have liked tea and coffee facilities in the room but otherwise nothing !

It was a beautiful property very close to the city center and located right next to a nice restaurant. The room was very cozy and the staff was so friendly.

The rooms are very noisy. At one point, a family with children moved in to the room right next to me and I could hear the child crying and scream all day and night. That, unfortunately, was the only thing I wasn't very satisfied with.

It was very near to the center, easy to reach by feet😊 The staff was very friendly and kind. It is an old building and the rooms are also old school but i think its matching Modena’s vibe. We arrived with a CAR, they provided easy parking for us, its a BIGBIG PLUS!! We loved it!

The main doors are loud, you can hear the “neighbors” opening and closing is it was unpleasant but not to bad.

Look at this building, it’s beautiful. It has high ceilings, it’s clean, and it has an Italy in the 70s vibe. Breakfast is reasonable and optional - no pressure! The bar has drinks, the walk to town is short. It has parking. Modena is a great jumping off point and not too crowded!!

My primary concern is cleanliness and it is clean! Is it a bit dated? Yes! But hot water, clean, nice breakfast!

We were given 2 rooms with a shared bathroom between, which was great as we were expecting one room with 3 beds! Parking is tight, but it's off street and safe. The hotel is an easy walk into town, and was a great base for the many museums around. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant below one evening (Regina Margherita, as I remember). Very friendly Staff.

We couldn't get the AC in one of the rooms to work (but it didn't bother us enough to remember to address it in the morning!). I'm sure they would have reset/fixed it if we'd remembered to ask!

San Gamenino is a great option if you need a place to rest, sleep and breakfast in a clean, quiet location and get a chance to explore the beautiful town of Modena. Although the hotel and its furnishings (tiles, furniture) are getting a little elderly, the basics have been refreshed (new paint on the walls, new, clean curtains) and it is perfectly adequate for the moderate price charged. Breakfast is a definite plus: it is wholesome, complete and beautifullly presented! (eggs, ham, cheese, cereals, cakes, bread, butter, jam, yoghurts...)

Great location in a wonderful part of Modena which is a short walk to the city center. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Parking is also available. Lovely staff and nice and clean. I would stay again.

The hotel is dated and needs renovating but it's perfect for a few days and is very good value for money.

No kettle in room for cup of tea

It was a reasonable walk to the center of town and the open cafes for dining. Our room had a newly remodeled bathroom, which was very nice.

The breakfast was $7.50 and seemed a little high for what was served.
