Grand Hotel Bonanno

The staff are all very friendly & helpful. Great breakfast options and is only a 15-minute walk to the train station, the tower, and the reasturants. Will be back in April.

This isn't the hotels fault, but the local taxi company wasn't available for a transfer to the airport. We sat from 2.15am until 3am. We then had to walk as we would have missed our flight at 6 am. we could also not book a taxi for this time. Again, it was not the hotels fault. The reception staff did try several times but was unable to get through. This didn't ruin our trip, but just a heads up for other people to mabey book a private hire if you have an early flight.

We have stayed before so know the hotel well. Always had superb meals and great location. Last stop of holiday.

The property was nice but a couple of things spoiled it for us. Firstly the extra pillow we took out of the wardrobe was not at all clean! Stained and grubby! Then we went for a meal and the winter was bordering on rude telling us about the menu once he realised we were English. Loudly telling us that one meal was FISH and another BEEF strips. We actually know quite a bit of Italian and so did not need his help! What a shame as we love Hotel Bonano….. 3rd time we have stayed… and we will stay again maybe

Very helpful and cheery staff. Good price to location and value ratio. Good shower with handset and rainfall head. 5 min walk to Pisa San Rossore rail station for trips to Lucca etc…15/20 min walk to the square with the Leaning Tower and Cathedral so quite close and you can just see the Baptistry dome and top of the Tower from road frontage rooms.

Breakfast was OK but the eggs and continental streaky bacon were tepid. Usual cheese and ham salami continental choice and cakes and cereal etc..Coffee from one machine so go early or queue. No beer on tap just bottles but friendly helpful barman. I’d say it was a good 3 star rather than a 4 star. The proximity of the rail station and road underpass mean there is noise in rooms fronting the road and ear plugs a must if you are a light sleeper.

Good location, easy trip in from the airport. We were able to walk to the main attractions. Staff lovely, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good - plentiful and we ate outdoors which was pleasant, Room and bed comfortable and shower very good.

We would like to see more fresh fruit on the buffet, only tinned the first two times there. It was better on the 3 day when it was introduced. The line for the coffee machine is long and not good. Perhaps large cups or mugs could be introduced especially for Tea drinkers. Or a small tea pot.

Clean and comfortable hotel with nice style. Comfortable rooms and beds. Good bathroom with a nice water pressure. Walking distance from the leaning tower of Pisa (800m). Safe private parking and easy to navigate to. If you are in Pisa with a car, strong recommendation! Excellent breakfast with a lot of variety also for special dietary needs. They also have a restaurant and nice garden patio with a bar. Price quality ratio is on point!

While close to the leaning tower of Pisa, the area itself is not the nicest. Not a lot of restaurants nearby but we didn't mind the walk and felt safe.

The hotel was in a good location for visiting the tower. The room was comfortable and the staff were really helpful and friendly. Initially the hotel appeared to be out of the way and near the railway line. The railway line wasn't an issue. As there were no restaurants near we ate in the hotel restaurant which turned out to be really good in terms of quality of food, service and value for money.

Not the hotel's fault but as a result of the warm weather for January there were mosquitos around. They had the repellent plug-ins at reception which we did not know about until we left after a conversation about bites. More information about their availability might be good for those of us that react badly to bites.

The room was small but adequate for our needs with a window we could open (our preference), the breakfast very good - plenty of choice and fresh. The staff cleared tables quickly and efficiently - always very pleasant even though the dining room was very busy. The location was brilliant - well placed for walking to discover Pisa! The parking provided was also ideal and served to complete a very enjoyable experience!

In our opinion the Hotel offered the traveller everything they required. There was nothing not to like.

Professional friendly helpful staff. Reasonable rooms for the price. Nice lounge area where you could sit and enjoy a drink. Good food in evening restaurant and lots of choice at breakfast time. Air conditioning which was welcomed after spending a week in Tuscany hills with 40 degree temperatures!!

The hotel was situated by a main room so the view around the hotel was not so good but once inside it was lovely. Amenities such as Pisa leaning tower very near by.

A very clean hotel with incredibly friendly staff. When we arrived we were given a double bed rather than two singles. The staff were more than happy to quickly rectify the issue. It was good value for money and a simple stay for travelling around the Tuscany area.

The hotel is a 30 minute walk to the station which may be challenging for those who have walking challenges or wish to visit a new city each day.

The staff are superb, very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Entire hotel is air-conditioned. Very clean & our room was made up every day. The room we stayed in very spacious, wardrobe, dressing table, fridge, luggage rack, safety deposit box (no charge), WiFi, tv, bath & shower in a good sized bathroom. Breakfast was buffet with lots of choices - breads, cakes, croissants, cereals, fruit, yoghurts, cheese, meats, bacon, eggs, sausage, fruit juices, hot & cold drinks. 10 min walk to the Leaning Tower. 20 min walk to Piazza Garibaldi (stopping at La Bottega del Gelato is a must!!) which is along the river. 25 min walk to main Pisa Centrale train station or 5 min walk to Pisa San Rossore train station. Airport 5-10 min in a taxi.
