Hotel Celio

The location near the colosseum was perfect. And by restaurants and the gay bars. I liked the roof deck too although it was about 100 degrees when I was there and being outside was uncomfortable during the day. The shower was good and bed was comfortable. Great AC as well, which was critical during this trip. Breakfast was one boiled egg and some bread/croissant with juice and coffee in the basement.

The property requires you to call and wake someone up when you are coming in after a certain hour. Maybe after midnight. Your key doesn’t give you access. It’s for safety but i felt like it was an imposition to wake someone a number of times.

We had an amazing 2-week stay at the Celio hotel! The staff was friendly and accommodating, and it was always a pleasure to be greeted by Roberto or his wife -- it felt like we were at home. Our room was stylish and comfortable, with beautiful high ceilings and the extra bonus of a partial view of the Colosseum. We particularly enjoyed the location of the hotel -- on a quiet street, just minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Rome and within walking distance of all the places of interest that we wanted to visit! Celio has a gorgeous roof terrace, with excellently maintained garden, where, in the downtime, we enjoyed reading or sipping our espresso. We wish we didn’t have to leave this beautiful boutique hotel, but we certainly plan to return to it in the future! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

When you step out of the hotel you can see the Colosseum two blocks down the street and it is a great location. It was July and the AC worked very nicely. There are no AC controls in the room, but we were quite satisfied with the temperature. The breakfast was quite satisfactory...a boiled egg, various type of bread, butter, and jam, fruit, coffee, and juice. The breakfast is brought to your table, it is not a buffet. The staff is helpful and friendly. We stayed there for 4 nights.

The hotel was perfect for our needs. We didn't plan to spend much time in the hotel on our first trip to Rome. We had the least expensive room and it was no surprise that the queen bed, desk, and nightstands filled it up. The bathroom was about the size of a lower deck cruise ship bathroom. If you plan to spend more time in the hotel, I suggest you upgrade the room/bathroom.

The location could not be better. You can see the colosseum just at the end of the road, from the hotel, only a few hundred meters away. lOVED the quaint traditional Italian interior. The staff were so helpful and kind. They let us leave our luggage after checkout for a while and even let me use the bathroom in one of the rooms after we had already checked out.

I would have loved a slightly bigger bed as we chose the twin option for me and my mum. But with small rooms there would not have been space for 2 doubles. The shower was a bit small and dated but very clean and good water pressure/ easy to use. It got a little hot in the room over night but nothing too uncomfortable.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. a stones throw away from the Colosseum with some rooms offering views (by way of sticking your head out the window and having a look, but still pretty cool!) Bedside charging points were available as well as free WiFi. breakfast was included in the price and whilst basic was very filling and a great start to the day. The rooms and hallways of the hotel are beautifully decorated and great care has evidently gone into this. Noise pollution from the outside was very minimal despite being in a busy area and close to restaurants. Toiletries and towels were included in the price and the room had a cool looking bath/shower combo. Would have been a nice bonus if the jacuzzi jets were functional but I taken a bath and shower during my stay and both were comfortable so not a complaint. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Considering the location, price and overall comfort of the hotel I would happily stay here again.

Breakfast was very generous and the coffee served promptly. The hotel seems lavishly decorated which sometimes results in a dusty feel but all the surfaces are gleaming and clean. The floors are a sparkly mosaic which helps to lighten the feel. The staff is helpful and gracious. There is an attractive roof top patio. The location a block from the Colosseum with a lot of restaurants and the Metro nearby and a reasonably quite neighborhood worked very well for my husband and I.

There is no elevator and we stayed on the third floor so I would advise guests uncomfortable with steps to establish what floor they are on before reserving. Even the second floor has a lot of steps because the ceilings are so high.

This is a beautiful hotel. The building and décor far exceeded my expectations, its was stunning. The proximity to the colosseum is why we booked and we were not disappointed. The staff are so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend. It's surrounded by great little bars and cafes and restaurants and convenience stores. Everything you need is at your doorstep. Its not too far from the train station and there is taxi stand at the end of the street.

Be aware that the hotel does not have a lift. This was not a major issue for us and the staff helped carry bags (which were very heavy), its something to keep in mind.

Loved, loved, loved hotel Celio! Defiantly will get back next time I will be in Rome. Hotel in the city Center right nearby Coliseum. Stunning interior, I was placed in the room on top with a great flower terrace and magical view on the city. Absolutely lovely staff - it was my birthday, and they helped me to organise my dress being prepared for Opera. Highly recommend that place!

Nothing wrong. Lovely place to stay!

Breakfast was a straightforward mix of pastries with various spreads, fruit, boiled egg, good Cafe Americano, and fresh juice. This is a full service hotel and the staff headed by the supremely capable Roberto met our every need including booking a last minute private tour. The Ambassador Suite was fabulous!

There was nothing not to like.

Breakfast was excellent and was served immediately. Location was ideal but then, any location in Rome is ideal!! Depends what you want to see first! Location was good as it was near taxis, metro, and bus and tram lines. And a fantastic restaurant just across the road! Delicious food and visited by local Italians which is a good sign of quality!
