I absolutely loved the location and the staff and the building. Of all the things I saw in Rome, the one I miss the most now when I am back home is this place. As a Christian, I felt something very very special there, there was such peace and it was a lovely oasis in the very busy and chaotic city. They have their own chapel (which in my country would be a moderately sized church) and it feels like staying at a monastery. The floors are wonderful, there are Christian sculptures and paintings in many places, the ceiling is high and vaulted, and there are nuns often to be seen. For once during my stay in Rome I felt that someone perceived me as a person, not a money machine, and truly cared for me and my wellbeing. The breakfast is at 8, but when I had to be in the city centre at 7:30, they laid breakfast out for me at 6:00. I was only one person of all the others who stayed there, the only one who needed to go somewhere early, and they still did this for me. The receptionists went out of their way to not only tell me where to find the breakfast room and such, but they left the reception to show me. On a sidenote, I sleep very badly and have nightmares if I don't have a light on somewhere during the night. Here they didn't have a light I could leave on during the night that wasn't too strong, so I tried sleeping without a light for the first time in many many years, and to my great surprise I had the best sleep I have had for years, and no nightmares. The garden is wonderful, and since I am from a Northern country, I saw things I had never seen before - such as a lemon tree with blossoms and lemons, and date palm trees. Staying there really felt like a dream, and it really was the most pleasant experience I had in Rome. I don't miss the other things I saw, such as the galleries and cultural monuments - those were impressive, definitely, but I feel like seeing them once is enough for me.

Check in can only be done til 22:00 and the building gets locked at 22:30. Since I wanted to see Rome illuminated at night, I had to hurry a bit to make it back on time before 22:30, because I walked everywhere. But that's okay, I didn't really mind that.

This is an absolutely beautiful building, so beautiful in fact that it’s hard to leave. Every moment of down time I had between visiting attractions or dinners I spend in the courtyard here, which was a welcome calm and shade from the heatwave and hustle and bustle of the Roman streets. All the staff I had the pleasure of interacting with were helpful and friendly with kind faces. I would have loved to see more of the property or learned more about it, but I bet if I had asked them, they would have been willing to tell.

Too nice I don’t want to leave.

Good location, close to Rome Termini railway station and Colosseum. Friendly staff. It was extremely hot in Rome and having a fan in the room was helpful (no air conditioning though).

There is a curfew at night which is inconvenient. Also, lights are turned off at night so you have to navigate with a flashlight if you want to get to the kitchen, toilet, etc. Breakfast is average, does not have any cooked items like eggs and sausages, and only bread items and yogurt is available. No air-conditioning but a fan is available.

the history and beauty. high ceiling beautiful shuttered windows you could open . great garden with seating to relax in. you had a kitchen available and could eat and drink your own food and wine. if even had its own chapel.

it was very hot when we arrived and rooms are not air conditioned but we were fine in evening with nice breeze through the windows. it would of been nice to have an iron available in the room. the bathrooms are functional but small. just comments to advise a traveller not an issue for us we just loved this stay.

This was the most beautiful and serene place to stay. Lovely gardens, good breakfast and great hosts. It was central to everything especially the historic quarter. There was no noise, just birds singing in the day. I had a little slip on the stairs and the staff were on hand to check I was ok, on several occasions. The room was ok, but perfect for me. The facilities were spotless. I couldn't have a had a better place to stay while I was in Rome. Thankyou very much ☺️

Good continental breakfast on the terrace. Wonderful colonnades and gardens for relaxing Good Kitchen available Beautiful old building Window opened onto terrace for fine views

Bed was very narrow and hard as a rock. If twin beds were used, room would be small. I was allocated a room in the deep bowels of the place with share bathroom but I think en suite rooms were larger

Perfect location and very helpful staff. Casa S. Giuseppe di Cluny has a unique tranquil atmosphere. The breakfast is standard and there is a very well equipped kitchen for cooking yourself. The building itself is rather attractive, and the garden at the centre is as beautiful as the photos suggest. Although the website says the doors close at 10pm, getting another key for the post 10pm entry route wasn't a problem at all.

WiFi is a little spotty due to the thick walls of the old building.

Staying at Casa S. Giuseppe di Cluny was unique experience for me in the heart of Rome. It is safe, quiet place in 7 minutes walk to Colosseum. Building is beautiful, high ceilings and a lot of space, a lot of wood in decor. It is also very clean in the building. Breakfast was very good - juice, tea/coffee, bread, jam - classic italian breakfast. Sisters and employees were very helpful and kind. My room was comfortable and big, furniture is authentic, and there were no noise at all. One of the great advantages is beautiful garden where you can drink your coffee of just meditate. Great place to stay in Rome and have unique, non-plastic memories.

Everything was very clean and well looked after, the staff were so lovely and the grounds were really pretty. I wasn’t sure what to expect and it exceeded my expectations. My room had a large old window and a lovely view. The shared bathroom was clean with two shower cubicles and one toilet for 4rooms, I never saw anyone else go in and out though I know others were staying. Breakfast was basic but fair for the price, and the gardens to sit and eat in were lovely. Also, it was open nightly until 2am instead of the stated 10.30pm, because it was summer. Would definitely stay here again as a solo traveller, and would recommend!

The location around Esquilino felt slightly sketchy as a female solo traveller at night, but wasn’t too bad and I never had any problems. No air conditioning, but a fan was provided so the heat was manageable.

I like the hosting and the quietness. I also feel safe in the building. Breakfast is simple but sufficient for the day to start! The pricing is really reasonable in Rome. Location is near the subway, really convenient.

The water needs to wait a bit longer to turn hot. Wish there is hair dryer and more space to store items in the bathing area. The sign location is not clear for the guest to find when arrive. Noting else, other is perfect at this price point. Really appreciate.
