Family-run B&B in a quiet corner of Trastevere, situated on the 1st floor. Area may look a little run down but felt safe, lots of locals out and about in the evenings. Excellent communication with Carolina. The bedroom/bathroom spacious and very clean; comfortable big double bed; quality sheets and towels; kettle for tea in room + bottle of water; pictures on site true to life. The European breakfast is generous & includes prepared fresh fruit; wonderful sweet croissants, bread / boiled eggs /assortment of jams / breakfast cereal. The property is near many restaurants / cafes, away from tourist area & frequented by locals; 20 min. walk to Piazza Campo de' Fiori, food market and bakeries. Very well situated close to several bus routes and a tram which made traveling to the property from the airport / Termini rail station or into city center very easy. 2 min. from property bus 3NAV / 75, (Induno stop) takes you to the Colosseum; across the Ponte Sublico bridge 7min walk from propery, bus 83 (Lgt Testaccio stop) takes you to the Barberini Palace or the Borghese Gallery Museum and park or Bus 23 ( Emporio stop) to the Vatican city. Maps and advice provided by Carolina and her mother. Nearby Aventine hill and Giardano degli Aranci (Orange Garden ) with views over Rome to the dome of St Peters. What made the stay was the warm friendly welcome from Carolina and her wonderful mother Mrs Alessandra who prepared breakfast every morning for us, chatted to us and other guests in English and French and made us feel part of the family. At end of stay able to leave our luggage in the property and pick up just before we left for the airport. Would not hesitate to stay again if we visit Rome in the future.

Shower cubicle was a step up onto a platform ( a little care required getting in and out) rather than floor level and had a shower curtain rather than glass screen but a good size with plenty of hot water and some power to it so showering was good.

Breakfast was always enjoyed with the owner of the Band B and she was very pleasant and kind. I really enjoyed talking with her about Italy and she was very helpful with things to see and do in the area and all over Italy. She was charming and I wish I could keep having breakfast mornings with her I miss it already. Also the area was great you have a tram that runs right through Trastevere and it takes you to the main Center City of Rome where from there you can either walk or take a bus to all the different sights. We walked and used the Tram daily. The owner also gave us hints on short cuts over to the Jewish Ghetto which is a 15 minute walk if you use the Island path this was very helpful. The Tram is Tram 8 it continues back and forth from the main train station in Trastevere back to the main Center of City area. You can catch this less than a 5 minute walk from the apartment. We took the tram to the main train station which is about a 10 min tram ride from there we were able to catch the airport train for 8Euros which is much cheaper than a uber and it is just as fast as the express train to town which is 2x the price and it was Easy Peezy. So if you stay here I suggest taking the train from the airport to Trastevere central station and the 8 tram to Trastevere which drops you a short walk to Trastevere Colors. It is a great way to get around. The Tram 8 stops at different areas in Trastervere and it only goes 2 directions one that drops you at the Trastevere train station and the other that goes the opposite direction ends in Center Central area.

We were warmly greeted by the host who went out of her way to accommodate us, taking our heavy bags up the stairs for us, as there was no elevator. She also provided not only an ample breakfast, but prepared us sandwiches for our trip to Milan that day. It was very kind of her. Our room was clean, our beds were comfortable and the building offered us a quiet night of rest.

We thought we had booked a hotel in light of our Google search for hotels in the Trastevere area and were surprised to find that it was a B & B with a "student" feel. Furthermore, the price equalled a four-star hotel we had stayed at the night before.

The hostesses - Alessandra and Carolina - went out their way to ensure everyone was made to feel at home. They provided valuable information, guide books and maps. Sitting around a large breakfast table was a great start to the day as the food was plentiful and we got to meet other guests from all around the world who shared information of where they had visited and recommendations for our day ahead. The beds were comfy and rooms kept very clean. The b&b is in a great location close to some lovely restaurants and yet not too far to walk to some of the historic sights! Had an amazing time!

All good

Trastavere is a beautiful part of Rome with an atmosphere and energy of its own. Trastavere Colors was a lucky gem of a find and we were so glad we stayed there. Alessandra, Caroline and Carlo our hosts were so warm and friendly and made us feel instantly at home. Allessandra is interested in and loves people - and it shows - but she also loves her home city and has such an in depth wonderful knowledge of it that we saw many sights we would otherwise have missed. Breakfast each day was a highlight meeting other guests and sharing our thoughts. Thank you so much Alessandra, Caroline and Carlo for all you did for us. So much nicer than an impersonal hotel

The tram system appears to be having an overhaul so we used the bus system but waiting for buses was made more difficult by the intense heat. Next time I would go in late September or October.

The property is located very close to all the major tourist attractions but also quite quiet considering that Rome is a very busy city and popular tourist attraction. Trastevere is a good balance of being central (don't need to get a bus anywhere for central Rome, if you don't mind walking around) but away from the hustle and bustle of a city. Rome is no exception, it's as busy as any major city. Night was quiet helped by the double glazing of course. And Carolina and her mother make everyone feel at home. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. And check-in and check-out were seamless. Carolina even kept our luggage at check-out until we got bus to airport. A good number of very good restaurants nearby. The best is to go to the ones the locals that work and live there go to, and you won't go wrong.

The trains seem efficient but there was works going on on the way back to airport and luckily a coach was provided instead. Buses we used only once and seem ok but trams are non existent as tracks are being redone.

The property is perfectly located in Trastevere and accessible to all of the other highlights of Rome. We especially loved that we could get to places like the Vatican and Villa Borghese in a 45 minute walk but also that we could go across the river and south to the less tourist-frequented neighborhoods to truly experience the culture of Rome. Breakfast and coffee in the morning were a delight and Carolina and her mom (whose name we need to track down because she is incredible!) were both outstanding hosts and Matteo, too. Carolina helped us with a dinner reservation one night and was always available if we needed her. We would stay here again!

No negative experiences!

The property is very nice and comfortable, easy to find and you have everything you need for the stay. location is perfect, reachable to every important sightseeings in Rome. we even walked to the Vatican city, or you can use electric scooter or eBike. Taxi station very close. If you come with car, the garage is the door next to the property and safe to use. Very nice staff. The most important about it is Family who runs this B&B. They make your stay in Rome even more special. Very nice and friendly. you could feel from very first day that you are more than welcome. and they Give you all info you need about the stay in Rome. Very open minded and talkative. It was such a nice experience staying with you. I truly recommend this B&B to everyone.

Very friendly owners who really wanted to make our stay a success. They booked restaurants and activities for us and had lots of good and more unusual recommendations for things to do. Breakfast was communal and there was plenty to eat. Excellent location to get to places to eat/drink, felt safe and could easily walk into central Rome over the river. Would stay here again and would recommend especially if travelling alone as would feel you were being looked after.

Only thing would be we would choose a room further from the kitchen/eating area - some people might find it noisy in the morning when other guests started to have breakfast.
