Husband and wife, Simone and Lorene were amazing in making my stay there so pleasant. Both are totally dedicated to making a guest's stay perfection. Lorene cooked me a wonderful breakfast, eggs, ham, etc.... was the best I have had in any small establishment.The location, steps from Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere was perfect. My room was charming and very comfortable. The enclosed roof top terrace where I had my breakfast was an added treat!

While the bathroom was very nice, one thing was really annoying. In the shower the lack of ANY surface to put the soap or shampoo on was a problem. I literally had to hold the shampoo in my mouth whilst I washed myself with soap. Then dropping the soap and shampooing my hair. A very dangerous and unnecessary situation. Buy a soap dish to attach to the wall!

Our at Villa Della Fonte was so lovely, Lorena is the most fantastic host and so helpful to any requests we had. She arranged our transport to and from the airport, she went out to fetch some mint tea for us to make sure we had everything we wanted. The mini bar was restocked every day and all free of charge, and the breakfasts were so absolutely fantastic. We couldn't recommend this place highly enough, the Villa is great but it is Lorena that makes the difference - thank you so much xx

Breakfast was great. Traditional breakfast of eggs, cheese, meats with breads and juices. This was made to order every morning. Don't order too much- we made the mistake of ordering meat and cheese for each person and one order was plenty for two!

Yes, it can be loud outside the window at night, but this is the trade-off for being able to look out to the Piazza from your window! They made sure to leave ear plugs on the bedside table, which was a thoughtful touch!

Giulia and the other people at the front desk were so kind and accommodating. She was so thoughtful and kindly provided me with anything I needed. The location was awesome, right in the middle of one of the most exciting neighbourhoods of Rome, and nicely accessible from all other important locations. One thing you should know about Italy is that if you decide to stay close to the tourist spots, people have the longest nightlife; the cities never sleep! But when I arrived, I saw Giulia had already put earplugs in my room as I had previously told her about my sleeping issues; so nice of her! I had no trouble falling asleep with the earplugs! Also, they provided regular, thorough room cleaning service, which was awesome. Plus, the breakfasts on the cute balcony were sooo good.

The three most important things when choosing your hotel: location, location, LOCATION. And Villa della Fonte does not disappoint! Located right in heart of buzzing Trastevere, it really is the perfect location for exploring the beautiful city of Rome. You have everything either RIGHT on your doorstep (restaurants, bars, cute narrow alleys, street arts, wine shops, markets and more) and everything else (Colosseum, Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon etc) is on nice walking distance. And yet it's so quiet in this hotel! We slept like royalties (even though the bed was a bit harder than we're used to). Let's now mention the other great thing with this little hotel - THE SERVICE. The staff is so welcoming, warm and helpful. Happy to answer all your questions and help you with everything you need to make your Rome vacation enjoyable. They gave us tips of restaurants, helped us with transportation and recommended spots and destination for us to explore in the city. The breakfast is very good and the terrace where you enjoy it every morning is absolutely lovely. Book this hotel now! You will not regret it!!!

There couldn’t be a bette location!! Here you are just a few steps away from the piazza, but safely tucked away in an alley that doesn’t get all the foot traffic. I recommend this accommodation for anyone looking to make Trastevere their base. Also, the breakfast was very generous - plenty of food and a delicious start to the day! We enjoyed eating on the terrace each day. It felt safe and secure at this accommodation. Finally, the staff we excellent. Lorena and her partner go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need. They are lovely people and they make your stay very, very easy and comfortable.

This is not a modern flashy hotel, so don’t expect that. But it’s a lovely, cosy guesthouse in the heart of Trastevere.

The location was excellent - we love the Trastevere neighborhood. You mostly walk in Rome so this guesthouse was perfectly situated where it was easy to reach all the major sites or catch a taxi/Uber easily with a short walk! This was our third time in Rome but we were there for our honeymoon, so we didn't mind splurging a little bit for our lodging. Our hosts were incredibly wonderful! Simone and Lorena were the best and it made our stay 1000% better. We arrived really early in the morning as we were traveling from the states. The room was not yet ready (Simone said "20mins") so they fed us breakfast while Lorena wrapped up. It was great to arrive and have a room to refresh after traveling for 24 hours! They delivered and we were so incredibly grateful. The room was super comfy and the amenities excellent. Our room was equipped with A/C, wi-fi, TV, a safe, ear plugs, robes, slippers, coffee/tea and snacks plus water that got refilled every day. We booked our room with breakfast which was delicious and there were a lot of options. We started our days with cappuccinos, cornettos, eggs, yogurt and orange juice to fuel our bodies for all the walking - it was great not to have to think where we were eating our first meal of the day. The guesthouse is right next to Piazza Santa Maria en Trastevere which is very lively at night - you can see the fountain from the rooftop deck. Bathrooms are equipped with eco friendly toiletries and if you need anything, the hosts are more than obliging - including booking transportation or making reservations of any kind. On the day we left, because the traffic was so heavy that a vehicle could not drive into the Trastevere, Lorena went out of her way to walk us to the nearest Taxi line up near the river and secure us a cab for our trip to Termini Station. I will stay in the guesthouse again in the future and I would recommend it to all.

It gets pretty loud at night (and in the morning with all the glass bottles and trash collection). The windows are thick and are equipped with blackout shades, but it cannot mask all the noise outside. This is not a mark against the guesthouse as they cannot control the environment around them, just a caution for future guests. Use those earplugs! Especially if your goal is to get rest during the weekends as the crowd in the Piazza or the neighborhood in general is rowdy until the early hours.

great location near restaurants, shops etc. premises and room was spotless, very good breakfast. nice mini bar with bottles of water, juices, wine included in the price. The staff-Lorena and Simone are charming, very helpful and attentive.

this has nothing to do with the property, but as I stay over the weekend, it was noisy after hours (midnight and 2am) on Friday and Saturday nights. Two sets of earplugs were provided in the room, so not an issue for me. After all location is close to the Piazza del Sta Maria del Trastevere where there is always lots of activity.

Lorena and Simone are outstanding! These multilingual, kind hosts let us check in early when we were in a rush to get settled and start our remote work days. They were thoughtful and even accommodated our dog, spoiling her with treats and attention. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower is strong enough to floss. The breakfast, expertly whipped up and then served on the villa's lovely terrace by this incredibly talented hospitality duo, is hearty and delicious. Amenities like bottled water, juice, beer, and wine are unlimited. There are only 5 rooms, so it's actually really quiet. The location cannot be beaten - at the heart of Trastevere where opportunities for great food and drink are abundant. Lorena and Simone clearly have a passion for their work, and it shows. I highly recommend staying here.
