Villa Astoria

The location is super great, just few minutes to the cable car, which will bring you directly to the beach. Or 15 minutes walk with really beautiful road. City center with all the restaurants also in 10-15 min walk. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Especially I want to admit Giovanni, he is nice and positive person who greeted us everyday with smile and interesting story :) the view from from our room was breathtaking.

Cleanliness - it is something you need to work with. Our bedding was with old stains, and when I asked madam from cleaning to change our bedding, she did, but new bedding was also with stains. So we asked again, and from 3rd try it looked clean. Also, you can use less plastic- for example you can change plastic glasses in rooms on normal ones, refill shampoo bottle instead of using a lot of small portion in plastic. But generally it is a really good quality for this money.

Location and the view from balcony was magical. Well worth spending the extra money to have a room with balcony.

I felt the staff could be friendlier and give some advice on tourist attractions etc and things to do. They should take more interest in their guests, for example we were staying on 3rd floor and had 4 pieces of luggage. When we arrived Giuseppe was kind enough to help us however when checking out, no assistance was provided with luggage not even opening the door. If you are in hospitality you do need some people skills.

Beautiful villa, with an amazing view and great location a bit outside of historical center but close enough to reach it on foot while having some silence at night . There is a parking at the hotel. The room was very basic but clean. Staff is friendly.

The villa has some arrangement with beaches, which are probably not the best in the area. It would be good if staff proposed some alternatives to loud party-like beaches (lido dolce vita). Breakfast was not really great, with americano tasting like it was powdered, little choice of fruits. There is no kettle/coffee machine in the room. It would be helpful if we had explanation in advance how to use parking as we had to park in another place and then repark the car as we didn’t know how to open the door.

With only 14 rooms, across the street from the bus station and only a 4 minute walk away from Porta Messina, this is a little gem of a hotel. The staff, lead by Mr. Nobody, we’re all terrific, with special shout outs to Giuseppe Uno and Giuseppe Due, who made our stay even better with their warm welcome outstanding service. The views from the breakfast room are STUNNING, as are all of the views from the rooms overlooking the sea. There is a charming garden with table, perfect for your first espresso of the day. And then there is Lucy, the Border Collie, who may be ball obsessed, but will happily become your new BFF if you spend a little time playing with her. I can’t wait to return!

Exceptional staff! It made lot of difference to have such wonderful people helping us. And they were going above and beyond! View from the room and waking up to the sun raising, working fridge. My only comment would be - no lift - so poor Giuseppe (the first one - later dethroned to Giuseppe no 2 by Giuseppe no 2 who was in fact no 1) brought luggage to the second floor. All the guests had their luggage taken care of. Wonderful coffee made by both Giuseppes and Mauro (Mr Nobody) - won't be getting one like that at home, deffo! And then Lucy the dog, absolute cuteness who played ball all the time. It is a massive thank you for the exceptional hospitality, smiles and zillions of amazing coffees!

No lift. Giuseppe will carry on your luggage but be prepared for stairs. Not terrible but after a day walking up and down it may be a challenge for some my age.

Villa, Astoria exceeded our expectations! It is a beautiful gem. We had a waterview room, and the view of the coastline was spectacular! The staff was absolutely amazing. They took excellent care of us, and we’re very thoughtful. While there is no lift in this hotel, the staff were happy to carry our bags up for us and bring them down. The location is absolutely outstanding! Easy to get to the Main Street, Corso Umberto. Also, a short walk to the beautiful gardens. I would most definitely stay here again!

The only thing I would’ve wished for would have been a coffee maker in the room. Breakfast doesn’t start until 8 o’clock in the morning so I had to wait on my coffee. No lift may be a problem for som, but this was not really an issue for us.

Amazing staff (specially both Giuseppes), spacious room with gorgeous view to the ocean where you can seat and relax on the evening. Walking distance to core of Taormina, which is a plus considering all hills and cliffs. Next to the entrance of the cable car. All the recommendations from staff turned out to be amazing! Grazie! Basic breakfast, but tasty. Parking possible on the property (it’s narrow, but staff can assist you)

Exceptional staff, lots of useful advices and they were always happy to help with everything. The breakfast was really good with fruits, fresh orange juice every day and grat coffee. Amazing location not only because of the stunning view but also because of being just opposite to the bus stop.

We were a bit disappointed with the view, as we paid additionally for the room with the view to the sea. It's been visible but the view was far from the one presented in the photo while booking due to the high bush blocking the view. Also despite it's advertised the parking is aviable bear in mind it's not free and costs 15 eur per day!

Really great location / directly opposite the main Taormina bus station - buses straight to the airport and the hop on hop off buses easy reach. Walking to the Main Umberto high street is only 5 or so minutes and the cable car down to isola Bella is closer still. We had a superior room with balcony and the view was incredible. The breakfast for 10 euros a day was very nice and the home made cannoli were to die for! Salvatore and team were so friendly and welcoming and gave some great tips on what to do around town.

The only minor quibble was the bed was a bit too hard for our liking. This was improved by getting extra pillow each, but was definitely not too bad. Otherwise I couldn’t fault it.

The location of the hotel is excellent being opposite the main bus station and a short walk from the Porta Messina entrance into the pedestrian area. We had paid for a room with a view and had a splendid view looking out over the Ionian Sea. We had breakfast in the hotel. Friendly staff and a good choice of breakfast items. We were very pleased with our choice of hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
