Hotel Castello

The hotel staff were honestly the best I have very experienced, they were friendly chatty and supportive with all requests. The hotel's decor was in a traditional style, although very different from what I am used to, making me feel like a proper Venician! The room was really comfortable and the room service was excellent, it was clean and tidy and they gave plenty of amenities. The location was incredible, there were restaurants really close by of good quality and close to St Mark's Square. I would go back, just for the friendliness of the staff alone. I felt really safe by not having to carry a heavy key around with me and having a 24-hour reception.

The biggest problem for me was the water pressure in the room, it had a problem where it would surge during a shower and could sometimes surge with cold water suddenly as a shock. The tap within the bathroom had a similar problem. The room is dated, but I wanted that when I stayed there. As for all Italian hotels, I would introduce a tea and coffee-making facility within the rooms

Excellent location, staff exceptionally helpful. We didn’t have the correct socket adaptors so we were allowed to borrow some from reception. We were also allowed to keep our luggage there after we had checked out as we had a late night flight

Excellent location. Very good price. Great staff. Room was good, quite small but dont really need to be so big when you stay outside in city most of your time. Even bathroom was clean and nice.

You dont need to book with breakfast, I believe you will get a better breakfast in town. We did not eat breakfast in hotel.

- location was great; about 300m from San Marco Piazza; there were some restaurants around and even a market, called COOP - staff was nice and friendly; they helped us with some info about vaporetto to Burano/Murano - room was clean

- room was quite small and crowdy; I travelled with my boyfriend; if he wanted to take something from wardrobe I had to stay in bed or bathroom in order to avoid stepping on each other's feet; for him it was hard to fit in shower cabin - bed was actually two single beds combined together, so the "middle" was not comfy at all - no plugs next to bed (charged my smart band in bathroom)

The room was very dark and the bathroom was very small but this seems to be typical of properties in Venice.

amazing location, couldn’t have been better. it was a two minute walk from the water bus stop. there was plenty of restaurants around that weren’t as expensive as you’d expect for being so close to San Marco square. breakfast was reasonable and worth it as you’d be spending a lot more for a lot less if you went out for it, it is continental so bare that in mind. staff were very accommodating and friendly. rooms were clean and for being so central it was very quiet.

the roof terrace wasn’t open, which was disappointing

The room was spacious for three people and it was close to St. Mark’s.

The bathroom was small and the water pressure of the shower was weak.

The location was good and the staffs were so supportive.

There wasn't any elevator in the building and our room was at 4th floor. So it was a difficult each time to climb the stairs to arrive our room. The room was also cold.

The location is amazing, only a few steps from Riva degli Schiavoni, Pz San Marco, but also very quiet and peaceful.

The wi-fi wasn't working in my room, and it was a business trip. The evening staff was very helpful, tried to fix the issue, but ultimately I still didn't have a functioning wi-fi connection in my room, and had to go to the reception. The evening staff was very friendly and helpful, while the morning staff was very unprofessional, not friendly, not helpful and not competent. I had a problem receiving an invoice and paying with my business card. So, from a business travel perspective it was not good.
