Hotel Concordia

What a great location!! At first a bit hesitant due to the price; especially for a family of 5 needing two rooms; which they placed next to each other. Room size much larger than the average European room (as compared to the US rooms); bathrooms had North American power adapter handy for the wife's curling iron. Plenty of opportunities for dining, museums, palace, shopping and Saint Mark's Basilica. Although there were plenty of gondola stops nearby the hotel; we walked a bit north for our gondola ride to avoid the gondola "train". Despite the price, the location couldn't have been more perfect. Too busy in the plaza? Head to the hotel for a cool down drink and enjoy the Plaza San Marco after the day tourist have gone. Nearby dock for water taxi avoid you having to drag luggage across the plaza. Not necessarily hotel-related; but you will want to know the high-tide times as the Plaza San Marco does flood at high tide. Another nice time to escape into this hotel; as the water compresses the plaza crowd to the dry spaces.

Good selection for continental breakfast. Had gluten free bread for me too. Room was lovely with a great terrace. Location was perfect for St Marks Square Staff were very helpful.

Negatives - shower over the bath which wouldn’t normally be a problem but the bath was so high getting in and out was tricky. Could do with tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. Lots of stairs and a very small lift. The corridor leading to our room needs decorating - shabby 80s paper. Other areas of the hotel are beautiful and you can see where they have spent money bringing the hotel up to date.

The hotel is in a fantastic location for tourism with lots of restaurants and shops on the doorstep. Close to the water and on St Marks Square. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The reception arranged water taxis for us when we needed them and nothing was too big an ask. The rooms and hotel as a whole was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a typical continental breakfast with a selection of pastries, fruits, cereals etc. The coffee is amazing!

It seems quite unfair that I point this out, as it's not necessarily the fault of the hotel! But while the location is great, it's not the quietest.... The bells are a beautiful sound, but not quite so melodic throughout the night, on the hour. We didn't necessarily get woken every hour, but the 7am bells are definitely played as a city alarm clock 😂 The hotel does have a bar underneath as well, which can get loud, but isn't open too late. It was only really one night it affected us, and that was just down to where our room was really. It wouldn't affect every room.

The location was brilliant. Next door to S.Marco Square. The staff were extremely attentive, especially the ladies on reception - printing water taxi and train times, arranging a breakfast box when leaving exceptionally early for a day trip. The room is spacious and classically Venetian. It is beyond clean with housekeeping tidying 2-3 times a day.

The pillows were not comfy. I’ve had better hairdryers on campsites, it’s old and basic. If I’m being picky, the breakfast is very basic. The bread rolls were stale on one morning

The location was great, considering it was in the heart of St. Mark’s Square. The room felt luxurious.

It was not super accommodating for my father’s accommodations. The shower was nearly impossible to get in and out of and the elevator was out of order the day we were leaving so it was a hard trip out of there. The hotel boasts a cocktail bar, but the night we wanted to go there wasn’t a bartender and the person who stepped in had to look up recipes for basic cocktails.

The room we booked was a superior double room. Comfortable and clean and overlooked a side street full of restaurants and bars, which were extremely popular. However, the noise at night was not a problem. The room had a well stocked mini bar and snacks. Although a bit pricey €3.50 for a small bag of peanuts. Staff very helpful and polite. Breakfast there is a good choice of buffet with a selection of hot and cold food. The dining room over looks the Basillica San Marco, again it is advisable to reserve a table if you wish to take in the view. The hotel is central to all the major features of Venice and is a short walk from the Waterbus, which operates frequently to and from Marco Polo Airport. Would recommend and would definately stay here again.

There was nothing to dislike.

Fantastic location - worth getting the room with the terrace overlooking the Basilica. The staff were absolutely brilliant without exception - especially the porter, the waitress on for breakfast and the staff at the front desk - arranged a private transfer back to the airport which turned out to be a highlight - boat speeding away from Venice, sun on your face. I would really recommend this hotel and would stay there again without hesitation.

The staff was really attentive and ready to help. We only stayed one night, so I can not rate breakfast or restaurant. But there are plenty of places for coffee or dinner outside

Though the hotel is basically located at StMarco Square corner but room view was at the neighboring house 3 meters away. Still it is a quiet place good for night rest.

The front desk attendant Bianca was outstanding and very attentive to our needs. The bellhop also was outstanding with his help with my wife luggage. I will definitely stay here again when we visit Venice in the next 6 months!!!

This was my second time staying at this hotel. This hotel caters to their guests. The service is fabulous from the time you book your stay until your departure moment. Very well located, steps away from Piazza San Marco, should you get lost roaming the “calleselles”, you can always find your way back to the hotel and most definitely to the quaint and cozy hotel bar, where Prince will delight you with his expertise on (Old school classic cocktails). Only small inconvenience would have to be, the tiny sink and poor light in the bathroom (Applying makeup could be difficult). However, the other couple we were travelling with had no sitting area in their room, but had a delightful fully lighted vanity. Hotel Concordia is definitely our hotel of choice when travelling to Venice.
