Palazzo San Lorenzo

Had an absolutely fabulous stay at Palazzo San Lorenzo. It is about 8 mins walk from San Marco Square and about 8 mins walk from San Zaccaria ferry stop. The hotel is close enough to San Marco and far enough not to be too noisy or touristy. We were lucky enough to get a room upgrade from Booking.com to a Superior Double Room. The room was lovely, spacious and clean. Room was at the back of the hotel so it was relatively quiet and we could only hear the odd loud voices outside at night even with the window closed. Hotel gave excellent recommendations for restaurants and one that we visited was excellent - Bacarandino. The staff were very friendly and booked dinner reservations as well as arrange for the gondola rides which is conveniently located outside the hotel. They can arrange for airport transfers by water taxi as well as private tours which we did not use. Palazzo San Lorenzo does provide a complimentary boat ride to Murano island. It is one way and you will have to find your own return journey. It is not necessary to use the service of the hotel to book the water taxi as it is very expensive. We booked a shared water taxi through GetYourGuide where you share the water taxi with other passengers (about 10 passengers max). They drop you at San Zaccaria and it is an 8 mins walk to the hotel. We were lucky enough to be the last ones to get dropped off so for the last 15 mins of the boat ride, it was like our own private boat. What a beautiful way to be introduced to Venice. It is worth it to buy the multi day public ferry (Vaporetto) that the locals as well as tourist use to travel up and down the Grand canal. It also allows you to visit the islands but it does not take you to the airport. That is a different boat company (Alilaguna). There are a lot of good places for breakfast around the hotel so having their breakfast included is not necessary. Lovely gelato also available opposite the hotel. Fantastic stay!!

The staff kept on trying to recommend their private services - breakfast, hotel airport transfer, tours. This is a very minor negative point as overall they were lovely. Once you say that you are not interested then they will not push. I did my own google search for the transport as I wanted to discover Venice.

Palazzo San Lorenzzo has a great location, close to San Marco, but a bit hidden from the cowds. The room was spotless, really comfortable and very nicely decorated. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. Breakfast was good too, if you compare it to the traditional italian breakfast.

The room interior was beautifully designed, typical Venetian details. Room was clean and spacious and have a good view of the small canal just right downstairs. Location was good, many restaurants and bars nearby and very near the San Marco Square. Mini bar was good and coffee maker and tea were provided.

For the price we paid, not worth it, we didn’t even have breakfast option at the hotel. No good facilities, just the lift and a small breakfast nook. The reception area was very tight, very small. At the peak hours of checking in & out, it’s very crowded

Very friendly reception/concierge staff with good advice and tours available. We did the free trip to Murano and glass blowing demo. This was excellent - a free water taxi ride to Murano and an interesting tour of the glass factory and several rooms of amazing glass for sale at mind-blowing prices BUT no pressure to buy. Great location only 5-10mins walk to St Marks square but also 5-10mins walk away to less busy and cheaper areas! Very good breakfast in a nice setting and very clean. Room was big enough and very quiet (apart from door to adjoining room) with panoramic views as described!

Door to adjoining room let too much noise through but this was minor for our stay.

The reception service is Excellent, quick, professional and very helpful. Booked a pick up service with them, everything was good and in time. The location is good, is in the center close to the Saint Mark and restaurants, yet very calm area. The rooms are spacious calm and modern. The beds are confortable, and cosy.

The hotel states it s only 50 meter from the pier, but it's a lot more. Did not feel it much, thanks the help of the help of concierge at hotel. Thanks to the My only minor negative point.

Loved everything about this little gem of a hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful would go above and beyond for you. Location was perfect only about 5 minutes from san Marco square. Only a few years old so very new and not run down at all. Only thing i would say would be is that there isnt really a bar to come back and have a drink in after 8 on a weekend. This might be different in the high season. We did also stay in a executive room also and the photo kinda make them look bigger than they are.

perfect location , quiet but also a stones through away from Venice’s iconic landmarks. The room was spotless and very comfortable. The house keeping staff were excellent . Option of private taxi boat from airport to hotel entrance and return . lovely restaurant /bar /staff across the devils bridge .Superb staff at the Palazzo San Lorenzo greeted us with a warm welcome and we’re so helpful and friendly during our stay , couldn’t ask for more ! thank you

In my opinion , The property was perfect and added to a lovely weekend away

Centrally located, clean and updated facilities.

Our room was behind the dining room on the ground floor. the staff took us on elevator up and down, some quirky, treacherous route to the room, instead right around the corner behind the bar. Of course, you will hear the morning working staffs and dining guests. If you are light sleeper, don’t take that room! wish the front desk can tell us upfront.

Location was good with character, clean and good size room with a comfortable bed. Beautiful venetian interior decor in the room with canal view. Staffs were extremely helpful and friendly. Upon arrival, there was a bottle of complimentary prosecco wine waiting for us in the room which was very thoughtful of the hotel. Will definitely go back there if we visit Venice again.

It was our first trip to Venice. The property is in a perfect location - next to a little canal and only a few minutes walk from S.Marco square and the water bus stop. It has great character, the room was large and spotlessly clean. The staff friendly and helpful. The well stocked and sensibly priced minibar was a welcome bonus.
