Il Palazzo Experimental

This is a stunning converted Palazzo of the beaten track near two water-bus lines (Zattere & St Baliso) to transport to main sights Venice has to offer. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating & the restaurant is top notch for creative Italian food taken in garden, . oh and the bed is extremely comfortable , good aircon was needed in the recent warm spell (29’) to get a good nights sleep. The cocktail bar is a must where the Experimental bit comes in with professionally made cocktails sitting on a small patio watching all the traffic on the canal wondering how they keep it all going with no obvious lanes ! .

INCREDIBLE hotel- absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful interior design, beautiful architecture. One of our favourite hotel stays to date! Great attention to detail- which didn’t go unnoticed, much appreciated, and added to the uniqueness of this hotel. We arranged for the hotel to pick us up for private transfer from the Venice airport to the hotel- for 130 Euro it was money well spent. First we were driven in a spacious private van then dropped off at the dock for transfer in the hotels private boat, which is absolutely gorgeous. The boat dropped us off directly in front of the hotel at the hotels private dock. This method is nearly half the time from the Venice airport to the hotel as compared to arriving on your own. Our room was stunning, with stunning views of the canal. The a la carte breakfast was 10/10; it included coffee of your choice, fresh juices etc. They were very good with my young daughter and went out of their way to ensure she had something to eat that was egg free given she has a severe egg allergy. The location is great. This is the only hotel I will recommend in Venice and can’t wait to go back!

It was a pleasure to spend two nights in Il Palazzo Experimental, everything, from the visual aesthetic of each space, to the smiling and helpful staff, to my exceptionally comfortable bed added joy to my stay in Venice! I did put thought into what part of this beautiful city I wanted to base myself, and Il Palazzo Experimental is perfectly located in my opinion... just a few Vaporetto stops or a straightforward 20min walk from train & bus stations, and a 5 min or so stroll to the Accademia bridge (and then on to the central San Marco area by foot, or via the Vaporetto stop there) and yet also sitting on the broad and relatively quiet quay of the Giudecca canal, looking across at pretty Giudecca and perfectly located to appreciate the beautiful sunsets, ideally sitting outside the hotel drink or gelato in hand, watching locals and visitors enjoying a passeggiata. If/when I am lucky enough to visit Venice again, I will certainly book Il Palazzo Experimental again, and I confidently recommend it.

Large room and bathroom, canal view across to the beautiful buildings in Giudecca. Comfy bed, Nespresso machine with free Nespresso capsules. Free water bottles in the room. Amazing interior design of the room and the entire hotel. Breakfast is very diverse and tasty. Always fun to stop at the bar for a beer, wine, cocktail or just a Spritz. Adriatica restaurant in the hotel is really good with very special food. The hotel also has a "secret" cocktail club with very imaginative cocktails. Overall great service and atmosphere. Location is great - not too close to the crowds, but walking distance to everything.

Very nice room with a view of courtyard from the 2nd floor. Lovely decor in the room and hotel facilities, the courtyard is a lovely feature to spend some time in and leads to a canal. Kettle and coffee machine with pods was a nice addition . Location of hotel is about 20 min walk to Rialto bridge and StMarks square. Location is away from the crowds. Supermarket very close by and great of the beaten restaurants near by.

Very beautiful and original decor, some of the best I’ve ever seen.

It’s about a 15-20 minute walk anywhere you want to go. In general I didn’t mind walking so much back and forth from the hotel each day, but I would say this is only good for those comfortable with walking or plan to be out all day. The kitchen closes too early, for the price bkfst should be included, and the cleaners barely cleaned up the room just made the beds really. The service is just not 5 star vibes. I also asked to speak with the manager and never got to. Overall, I enjoyed my stay but wouldn’t stay again.

Gorgeous building and rooms that were obviously given a lot of thought regarding detail. We had everything we needed for a luxurious vacation (I particularly liked the speaker & bathrobes). Good location (nice to be out of the chaos of the city but everything is still within walking distance). Amazing bar. All the staff was very helpful but we particularly loved meeting Edoardo and Pietro. Best cocktails we have ever had. Can't wait to tell all of our friends about it!

The hotel was beautiful with a nice decor and an inviting, cozy restaurant, stunning hallway view of the water and back garden area. Our room was small but quiet with a lovely view of the garden. The queen bed was very comfortable, and the shower was incredible! 

The room was a little smaller than anticipated, and the closet space for suitcases and clothes was really limited to one person instead of two. 

the propriety is beautiful, decor is different and original (think Wes Anderson), the bar was outstanding. beautiful and peaceful garden. nice amenities.

nothing major but there were tiny details such as the lighting system did not dim, no double curtain for privacy (it was just blackout), the shower/bath was beautiful to look at but awkward to use, the music stereo was hard to use and did not have Bluetooth… really small details.

location was perfect, away from the crowds and next to the Zattere vaporeto. Stylish rooms and the whole design of the hotel, nice little cocktail bar. The reception staff is incredibly helpful and accommodating. It is extremely difficult to find a decent hotel for a fair price in Venice and this is one of the best options I’ve stayed at there!

the quality of cappuccino at the bar was questionable for Italy
