Hotel Velario

very clean. they had a spa there. Anai really did great on my message I highly recommend her.

my room was at the very end of the hall we’re there happen to be a janitors closet in there with supplies. employees were very loud when coming by and it bothered me a lot. also the building echos a lot, especially if your loud. I wish it would have been more quite. other than that everything was great. the front desk guy seems stressed and made me feel like he didn’t want to help me.

A lot of noise. The housekeeping boys there were nonstop talking since early morning time. You are not going to sleep silent in the morning. They will wake you up stressed. Can't sleep well. Also, if you book a standard room they will put you on the first floor which is 2 levels downstairs. There are no windows and there is humidity. Booking a Suite is it worth only.

The hotel is nice and secure, friendly staff for the most of it, easy check in and out. Comfortable rooms

The location is close to down town and zona río but the hotel is right in the middle of all strip clubs and cheap bars, there is a lot of homeless people un the streets, is a bad area in general. My recommendation just lock your car door, drive straight into the hotel parking lot and you will be fine, don't get out of the parking lot walking on your own it doesn't look safe to do so. When you drive out couple blocks to the left and you are in a much better and safer area.

Not mentioned, but I really like the secure parking with 24 hour attendant. The massage at the spa was excellent.

The restaurant is the best part! Food was A+++ from the Salmon to the ribeye, the fajitas etc..everything was prepared and presented in such an excellent way. I don't think I left a crumb from my meals combined!!!!

My flight was late, i tried to call the hotel but no answer I did not arrive til 1am. I booked through booking.com who set the reservation up and asked that I pay upon arrival, the security guards at Velario stopped me upon arrival stating they were full. I finally convinced the guard to let me through to talk to staff. After a 10 min lecture on how if you don't pay in advance they don't save the room the clerk gave me a.room who he claimed someone had paid for and not showed up. Booking.com should not make reservations without the fee upfront if the hotels will willy/nilly honor them!

wifi was kind of slow and they just changed to key pad password to get into the hotel room instead of room keys

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant was convenient but mediocre. They were out of beef for the 2 days which was an inconvenience and understaffed but overall they went out of their way to make up or offer other options.

I ordered room service but only made up bed and took out trash, wiped sink and cleaned toilet but doubt they cleaned the shower since there were previous stains that were never cleaned. Shower drain was clogged with hair from previous customers and felt they didn’t take the time to clean well since I saw stains on fixtures that were probably there for weeks, months or even years.

Good bar and restaurant with patio for outside eating. Hotel is cleaned often; wireless was good as well. The hotel is set back from the street quite a bit, so traffic noise is minimized. Brewed coffee for breakfast which can be hard to find. Had breakfast and dinner, prices were very reasonable for a hotel restaurant.

Modern construction and all that but hallway noise carried to my surprise. Guest in room next to me played TV loud so that was annoying.
