Pueblo Amigo Hotel Plaza y Casino

The staff are great. There is a varied menu and the food was always banging (amazing). Room service is efficient and was so handy to have available while I was stuck in an all day meeting. I forget the name of the chap on the bar near the sports room, but he's a top man! The level of English is varied but it doesn't deter staff from trying their best to help you. Hopefully next time my Spanish will be more than saying I can't speak Spanish :D I would like to say that the casino is quite varied and I was really happy to see actual card tables and not those boring ePOS machines. The dealers are charismatic and entertaining.

It can be noisy sometimes with part of the casino being on the ground floor there. For some reason, the security guard like to razz it up and down on his quad bike from about 5am, which is a little aggravating.

We really enjoyed the location, staff and cleanliness of the hotel. Baltazar greeted us and was very helpful.

We stayed there for 10 days. The first room (219) didn't have enough electrical outlets for our devices. TV was outdated, needed to be upgraded. It was very cold once walking out of the room and smelled like smoke several days. We wished there was a non-smoking area in the casino area. We also hoped for a rewards program to receive perks and discounts for returning clientele. We eventually Upgraded our room to 207 and it was much more Upgraded and much more comfortable. We sat down in the dining area and ordered a Banana Split, but never received it after 30 minutes, so we addressed it with two workers and told them it was taking too long and we had to leave. We also noticed two roaches in the casino area close to the bar.

All the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located at very centric area of the city.

The mattress wasn't comfortable, we woke up with a backache.

I travel to Tijuana for dental work. I stay at Hotel Pueblo Amigo because, as a womantraveling alone, I feel very safe. The staff is gracious and very accomadatin. The beds are very comfortable, which is important to me. They has a casino on the ground floor which many enjoy. If you don't gamble, it is not a disturbance to have players in the same room. The food is very good in their restaurant, plus you can get room service.

I do not have and negatives to report. The coffee provided in the rooms with the coffee pot is one of my favorite.

the staff was great, made us feel very welcome. The maid/ cleaning person was really nice and helpful and always took great care of our room and the bellhop was very quick at getting us items if needed and help us understand the call buttons !! the front door gentlemen were really nice and recognized us after our first meeting, very accommodating ! the cooks are nice and they smile and make you feel they are glad you are there!

the restaurant personal was slow to refill coffee on Thursday the omelet was very thin and slightly dry, made on the grill so it didn’t have “ body” to it. The buffet on Friday was fantastic, cooks are very accommodating and smiles a plenty!! loved it!

The food is great and its right near the border. The staff was extremely friendly and would take all of their suggestions. Most importantly very safe and in a area where you can buy basic items or snacks and small day trip type items.

just the lighting in the rooms could be a little brighter. But we came while they are/were under renovations which is a good thing so for that I will be going to see but so far this has been my 4th stay so I'll most likely be back.

Very nice building, clean room, comfy bed, large bathroom, helpful friendly staff with bellboy, valet, and room service. Reception answered my questions about the area. Yummy American breakfast. Nice view.

No smoking room had slight cigarette smell, would bother a sensitive nose. The hotel itself smelled of cigarettes because of the casino. Typical room rate is fine but price was tripled for a festival weekend so I gave it a lower value rating.

Baltazar and Caesar are always attentive to our needs and are always welcoming and escort us and our luggage to our room with all smiles and conversation... This is by far our favorite hotel to stay at. My husband and I have visited at least 10 times... We've tried staying at other hotels in the area and this one cannot compare (in a good way) The food at the restaurant is always DELICIOUS. Highly recommend Chilaquiles de la casa😋 and the French toast breakfast

Although half of the casino is non-smoking, the other half could use better ventilation because the automatic doors leading to the casino allows too much smoke to enter and you can smell it at the restaurant where children and adults like to dine in.... Still thus far my all around favorite

The hotel was clean & comfortable (for the most part). The staff was very friendly & courteous. The room was most spacious than anticipated, which was pleasant. I was originally hesitant about the parking situation, since I drove down, but the parking lot appeared full-time staffed by attendants/valet/security, which gave me a measure of peace of mind. The restaurant felt reasonably priced and the food was rather tasty.

The water pressure in the bathroom was low, especially in the shower, so while the shower was a nice size, the low pressure of the water made showering a less pleasant experience than it would otherwise have been. The toilet also seemed to suffer from lower water pressure, though the sink seemed fine in this regard. The room was on the 2nd floor (labeled 1st, since the lobby is treated as floor 0), and facing the heart of the casino section, so at its peak, you could hear the slots, which detracted from the comfort a slight bit, but it wasn't too loud so as to be annoying or impede sleep. The biggest surprise/disappointment, was the lack of a mini-fridge. I usually take some drinks and such and had nowhere to put them to keep them cold, other than the cooler I took.

Service was prompt and exceptionally good. The hotel is big and colorful and a delight for the eye. The food was well prepared and the dining environment was so comfortable one wants to linger for the extra cup of coffee (which was very good--a measure of the quality of an eating establishment). I expect I'll be back.

I really don't know what could have made it better, unless management wants to put me up again, for nothing.
