Villas Danza del Sol

The lush grounds are spacious, immaculate, and beautiful. The staff are helpful and pleasant. The breakfast menu has both Mexican and American choices. The two bedroom unit we stayed in was very spacious and clean. Nice stove and refrigerator in the kitchen.

Three of us were staying in a unit where four or five could sleep. However, the kitchen was the least well supplied of any place I have ever stayed. They were two glasses, 3 cups, four plates, silverware for less than four people and a total of five utensils. There were two huge pots, and that was it. there was no dish soap, dish cloth, or dish towel in the kitchen. If you want to eat out the whole time that is fine, but then, why have a kitchen? There is no microwave, which, would be very helpful for reheating, leftovers or takeout. I have included photos of the living room area, the total contents of the kitchen pantry, and the lovely outside.

Ths is like a beautiful oasis in the town of Ijijic, Mexico. It is 20-25 minute walk from the town center. The hotel and beautiful lush landscaped grounds give you a feeling of the old world charm of Mexico. The architecture of all the premises is so charming and the premisis make you feel so relaxed among the flowers, trees, and sounds of water from the fountains. We were so impressed by the politeness of all the employees. The rooms are so charming with a feeling of the old world charm that comes from all the Mexican tile, dark wood, and open courtyard in each suite. When you enter your room for the first time you feel like a king entering his private domain. The entire premisis is kept immaculate. The people who are employed take a real interest to keep the facility up to the highest standards. A beautiful pool is great to relax and cool off when its warm. The breakfast is wonderful only to be outdone by the courtousy and respect of the wait staff. Old world charm, cleanliness, comfort, and a feeling of really being in old Mexico await at the Danza Del Sol.

There is absolutely nothing lacking in making your stay at this hotel a wonderful experience.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. It is a beautiful hacienda style building over a large area - very traditional. The breakfast was either a buffet some days, or made to order others (unclear why different on different days). The buffet was decent, but the made to order breakfast was fantastic. There is a good sized pool and extensive grounds to relax and sunbathe. The room was absolutely huge! We really enjoyed our stay here and we would recommend and stay here again.

The location is a little out of town - about 30 min walk. However it benefits of this place outweigh this minor inconvenience.

Staff was courteous, but some spoke zero English. Breakfast was okay, they offer it in 4 packages now and don’t allow modifications, so it’s limited but allowed fast service. Coffee was really weak though 🙁

Kitchen had zero equipment in it although said fully equipped, not even coffee for the coffee maker. Parking. Every time the gate needs to be opened, you have to tell or call reception, they send someone to walk all the way there and open it manually. Would help if they had a camera, intercom and a button they could press.

Everyone was very friendly. We had a very good size room. The breakfast was wonderful and the property is beautiful! The pool was nice as well. It was great that private parking was provided in a secure location on the property.

Nothing! Everything was great! The only inconvenience was having to stop at the front desk in the evenings to have the staff go open the gate to the parking lot. It was not a problem though.

The breakfast was excellent, and the restaurant service very good. The room was spacious and nicely furnished. The gardens and surroundings are delightful. This is a very quiet place; a great place to retreat or relax. While it is a lengthy walk to the main plaza, the neighborhoods offered great exploration.

We had basic cable television and would have liked to receive internet options for the television (our subscription accounts).

The property is beautiful, and expertly landscaped, the villas are spacious, and we had a lovely garden. The swimming pool is in a perfect spot, and because the sun is so strong, you can swim in it even when it’s 21-22 Celsius outside. The breakfast is included (the fact that you’ll have a free breakfast isn’t listed online, but should be), and it’s excellent. It’s very quiet and private, and you never see neighbors except at breakfast.

The fireplaces aren’t in use. I booked this resort in part because of the fireplace, so I feel cheated by false advertising. The pool isn’t heated so this is another piece of false information in the hotel description. The rooms get a bit cold, bit there is no way to heat them, except they do have great blankets. The rooms are a bit damp and musty. They are simply not cozy. Also, I only saw maybe 4-5 cats during my stay and they mostly kept to themselves. Big let down! I expected the place to be full of cats as other reviews suggest.😉

the place is beautiful, the rooms are huge and very comfortable. the installations are very nice and the price is perfect for the place.

none of the locks in the room work so we felt a bit insecure at night not being able to close any door. The gardens get no maintenance so a lot of the trees are full of plagues and in the gardens they have cats that have not been spayed so they have sick kittens all over the place. the reception girl looked like she didn’t care and didn’t think about doing anything about it. pretty sad to be honest

my first time visiting aijijic and fell in love with the area. I loved the large villa with it’s old Mexican style brick, wood ceilings and Mexican tile floor. pool was perfect after spending day at malecón. staff was friendly and amazing.

internet was a little tricky and when it did work very slow but that might be for area as whole not just specific to hotel

Really cool property. Used to be a condo building so the rooms are HUGE! Adorable cats everywhere. Lush grounds.

I booked a one bedroom suite because the description said it fit 4 people, however when we checked in it only had one bed, and the couches were nowhere big enough for our kids to sleep on. We had to upgrade to a larger room, which was lovely, but came at significant additional cost.
