We had great stay at Casa Carmen Morelos! The staff (Michele and Mr. Conrado) and everyone else made our time in Oaxaca exceptional. The warm welcome, the tips, the responsiveness was something beyond what we experienced anywhere else. The breakfast was delicious and nicely made. The team was also very flexible to our needs which we highly appreciated. The house itself has beautiful design, we enjoyed sitting on the terrace every night after touring the city. We will definitely come back again!

Everything was perfect! The Hotel is located in a really good area in the center. The hotel is in great condition and super clean. It was made with a lot of high quality materials and with a lot of details. The staff is super friendly and always there to help if you need something. Oaxaca is a place where you can find great food, also in that hotel you get the best breakfast you can imagine. Tlayuda, omelete, chilaquiles or mole....there are many different options prepared by the staff. The hotel has its great and unique character also because of the staff working there. Special thanks to Michelle, Serena and Chuy. They made our stay there really the best we ever had. Super delicious food! Also if you have the chance that Chuy can make you a cocktail (like the Mango-Maracuja-Mezcal one), you should try it! Best cocktail you can get in town! Hotel rooms are super clean and in great condition! The bathroom has a great big shower and a lot of space. It was an awesome stay! I hope we can go back there soon!

Casa Carmen Morelos was a lovely hotel stay. It's tiny with only four or so rooms. It felt like a private Airbnb with the perks of staying in a hotel! The room was gorgeous, cool and large. The common spaces were beautiful and filled with art. Even though our room faced the street we hardly noticed any noise - except one afternoon when a calenda street parade passed right by us! It was so fun to open our windows and watch the parade pass by. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was attentive and kind. We loved Casa Carmen Morelos and we will be back!

We arrived early and forgot to request early check-in and we weren't able to access our room ahead of 3:00 PM check-in. It didn't appear as if anyone was in the room yet so it would have been nice to access the room early. But we should have requested early check-in, so that's partially on us.

Casa Carmen Morelos is a hidden gem in Oaxaca City! It was a welcomed escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and offered a wonderful space to retreat to at the end of each day, while still somehow being in the perfect, central location.The space and rooms are not only beautifully designed, but is also incredibly intimate for those looking for a relaxing and quiet space. The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. Highly recommend to everyone!

Alejandro is a great host. He always anticipates the guest’s needs. There are only 4 rooms in the entire casa, which made my stay very special. Diana’s breakfast every morning is topnotch! Excellent service. The room is always cleaned well & it made me want to come home for siesta in the middle of the day.

Everything was exceptional: the tasteful architecture, art and decoration; the delicious breakfast, hot chocolate and cocktails; the friendliness of the staff, in particular Alejandro the main guy. We would definitely stay again!

Everything was great, there is no pool but that didn’t matter to us.

We enjoyed how secure and relaxing this place was. It felt like a small oasis full of art details. The staff was very attentive and kept everything super clean

The place is a more expensive than others in the area, but it’s worth it

The hotel was so beautiful ! It was immaculate and the service was excellent! It was very quiet and close to the city center. We really felt pampered by a very attentive staff.

The only thing I would have changed was to have more natural light coming into the room.

There is a school or government building nearby that has a band that plays music at 7am. We wanted to wake up around that time, and it wasn't too loud, so no big deal.

Casa Carmen is a fabulous boutique hotel located just around the corner from the Basilica de Nuestra Señora de Soledad and from Plaza de la Danza. From the outside you could walk right by, but once you enter, you enter into a special place. The minute you arrive you are greeted with friendly faces. During COVID, when precautions need to be taken, this hotel does not skimp. You walk on a matt of sanitizer when you enter, your luggage is spritzed with sanitary spray, you receive hand sanitizer immediately, you are handed sanitizer to take with you and some disposable masks as well. Right away as we filled out the necessary arrival forms, we were offered beverages to choose from, which could be freshly squeezed juices, waters, hot chocolate or coffee, or our personal favorite - Mezcalinas, which are blended juice beverages with a little Mezcal. The pineapple and Tamarind ones were delicious! Breakfast is also included, and let me tell you - it’s delicious as well. The hotel is small, with only 4 rooms available. This allows the hotel to create a personal, quaint, individualized, and luxurious atmosphere. When you enter your room, the area is clean, spacious, and freshly cool, but it’s the little details like the chocolates on the bed or wonderful scent that stand out. The beds are comfy, the rain showers feel awesome, and the mini fridge is offered gratis. Within and outside of your room, the hotel is decorated with a local designer’s artwork. The common spaces are hip, relaxing, and comfortable, and the hotel also offers a terrace area (which was our favorite place to enjoy an aperitif and Mezcalinas). It felt a bit sad when it was time to check out and end our stay both at Casa Carmen and the city of Oaxaca, but the staff left us with a handwritten parting note, which was just another personalized touch that made the experience all the more special. We recommend staying here, and we really hope we are able to return here someday. We love Casa Carmen.
