Pug Seal Oaxaca

I don't normally review hotels and I promised myself and the hotel that I was going to as soon as I have the chance. I guess, better late than never? I had a horrible experience of traveling with Volaris, a carrier I swear to myself and all airlines that I would never book again, for lack of better words, they lost my suitcase and their customer service was close to none existent. PugSeal went above and beyond and called the airline for me, and helped me through out, they were also so nice to wash my clothes since I didn't have anything but that. That is what you call AMAZING customer service!! I will recommend Pug Seal and would stay again, and again, when time permits!! THANK YOU!!

Wow! This was an excellent stay. We were in the main central part of Oaxaca and I could not hear the bar across the street or the candelas all over on the weekend. It was wonderful. The rooms were dark which was great to maintain my sleep cycles but if you wanted the doors had window carve-outs. The AC was phenomenal. It was exactly what you wanted to come into after a long day of site sighting.

It was all great. The only thing is we were in the Executive suite. The stairs for the tub were a little difficult to get in and out of the tub. I wish there were more stable (at least in my head) steps to get down with. But this is nitpicky. The room and suite were great!

As soon as we walked in and saw the oasis courtyard in the centre, with colourful painted murals on the walls I knew we'd found an amazing place to stay. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, they helped us with restaurants and excursions in person and via WhatsApp. The breakfast, which was included, was delicious, we tried everything on the menu. The rooms were spotless and really tastefully decorated. Loved all of it.

I have no complaints. We wish we could have stayed longer. I guess the only thing is we didn't know the mini bar in the room was free, so didn't make the most of the drinks. But that's our fault for not asking!

It was an artistic boutique hotel in the middle of everything. Short walks to all the happenings in the city. Amazing a la Carter breakfast everyday. The staff was polite and fluent in English. They helped set up excursions etc. The staff was available 24/7 via whats app too! Beautiful and clean rooms maintained everyday!

My only 1 complaint is that its advertised as a smoke free hotel with smoke detectors. I got very sick the last night of our stay as I'm allergic to smoke. Our neighbor was constantly smoking and the smell seeped into our room very strong! The staff offered to burn incense for us....which would be another strong smoky smell so we declined. The neighbor continued to smoke, I dont think it was handled by the staff. So if smoking etc is an issue for you, I would reconsider.

Stunning courtyard and frescos on the walls inside. That was my favorite part. Nice snacks and beverages available everywhere and the staff was incredibly nice. Very clean and comfortable amenities in the room, great A/C, and little pillow chocolates too! They even made us a to-go breakfast when we had to leave early for our flight.

I though the room would be bigger and brighter like I saw in the picture. Mine was smaller and darker, with no real natural light. Felt like a relaxing spa vibe inside though. Beautiful shower room, cool walls, great A/C. Maybe overpriced for what it is.

This is a well located hotel in an old but remodeled building. Very stylish, with an excellent a la carte breakfast. I had read a lot about hotels in Oaxaca and how noisy the rooms are in a city that is bubbly 24 hours a day. Well, my room at Pug Seal was very quiet, and my only ifs are: a bit too dark room and pricy! Also, a piece of recommendation, no need to accept their suggestion of transportation from the airport and for tours: extremely expensive, and one can find the same services for a more reasonable price.

Maybe 🤔 the very dark bathroom and room. A bit pricy. The indication that taxis do not exist at the airport, thus I should book the transportation, which by the way I did not because it was very expensive (at least more than the double price into the city and almost 3 times the taxi from the city into the airport). Yeah, there are different prices in and out of the city (in by taxi 349 pesos and back to the airport booked 250, at the square 200 pesos)

I absolutely loved this hotel! Staff was super friendly and very attentive to details : free cookies, mini sandwiches were at our disposal. The décor and mural paintings were beautiful. The comfy couches, the little tables for breakfast, the large shower in the bedroom: every detail made the stay extra comfortable. Plus the hotel is situated in an ideal location close to everything in the city - all in a 5-9min walk. Cute cafés right next door.

The location is gorgeous, the room has everything you need, the hotel has snacks available throughout the day but the best part about this place is the staff, specifically Issa. I had a truly bad bout of food poisoning (not from Oaxaca but a town I had visited the day before) which peaked at 1am when she had her shift. She made me tea, helped call medical staff and went above and beyond to make me as comfortable as possible in an extremely uncomfortable situation. I am so truly grateful and was able to finally get to some decent sleep.

There was a chef who cooks excellent breakfasts which you could eat at tables scattered around the hotel. The public spaces were beautify with wonderful murals throughout. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The linens were beautiful and the bed really comfortable

There isn't enough space in the bathroom to store things and the "closet" a bit strange. Need to live out of a suitcase. The rooms are dark because there are no windows.

Everything was mind blowing! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and made us feel so much at home from the moment we sat our foot inside the reception. The hotel itself is divine and with a big sense for detail in everything they do, both in terms of interior and in their service. You could feel this from all their staff that they were all happy to be there and to be at your service. They all spoke perfect english too. The whole stay felt so luxurious, yet in a very chill and elegant environment so it felt at home at the same time. The rooms were of course gorgeous, even better than the pictures, and with a private breakfast space outside our room which made it feel more romantic and private. The breakfast options were all delicious, unexpected in a way that they offer choices that are beyond ordinary and that was deffenetly one of the highlights during our stay. If we ever come back to Oaxaca city, this hotel would be our ONLY choice! We are used to stay at hotels and this hotel was on our very top list!
