Very nice hotel in an old colonial building. Great location in the city centre, everything is walking distance. Great staff: a lot of advice about restaurants, tours in and around the city, excellent breakfast (changes everyday). Perfect. In front of your room you can sit in a pleasant court. Although the room has no airco it is a cool room, temperature wise. Paid parking is around the corner, on advice by the staff. The parking has excellent service: opened especially for us on Sunday morning.
The room has a double door of glass and wood with shutters to the court and a tiny little window. The room itself is quiet large and well lit by electric lights. Unfortunately not a lot of daylight.

Very cozy & relaxed small family hotel. The owners & staff attended to every detail and were very helpful with anything we needed during our one week stay. The inner courtyard was lovely for morning coffee or an evening mezcal. It also was a great buffer from the normal white noise of the city. Breakfast was made to order every day. On the days we left early for hiking trips, fresh fruit & banana bread was available to go. So convenient! The location was perfect for us only 4 blocks from the zocalo. We felt like we were right in the middle. Historic district & higher end restaurants in one direction and all the food & textile markets in the other.

Location was prime and the owners and staff were incredible. They helped us with any and all questions or help we needed. Felt so soothing coming back each evening and sitting in their kitchen/breakfast area and drinking natural herbal tea to end the night. Eggs were made for us each morning and they even helped us get a driver for a day out of the city one night before our planned excursion. Just these small touches which really make the stay even more special. We felt very well taken care of and would highly recommend this spot!
I would say set your expectations about the outdoor space. It is really really lovely however it is a shared space. We weren’t sure what it would look like and while there weren’t many (if any really) people sitting there while we were out there, that’s worth noting. Also, the traffic can be very loud if you are sitting at the breakfast area in the mornings because it looks right out onto a busy road. Not a dealbreaker at all. Just an FYI.

Absolutely would stay here again. Staff were beyond warm and welcoming and helped us whenever we needed- to get a reservation, order a taxi, borrow bug spray etc. We were welcomed every time we came or went and the staff’s warmth really was a highlight of our trip. A staff member was always on site. Room (suite) was large with a private courtyard seating area. Central location, within a 10 minute walk to all tourist areas. Comes with a breakfast of eggs, yogurt, fruit and toast. Good wifi and cute property.

The owners of Hotel Pereyra are consummate hosts. They already knew and addressed me by name from the first day I was there! And that level of care and attention extended throughout my stay. The owners were as happy to give restaurant recommendations or book a taxi as they were to just sit and chat. One morning I forgot to tell them I wanted breakfast, so they had some eggs "a la Mexicana" whipped up just for me! I really felt "en mi casa", as the Mexican saying goes. (They also speak fluent English! I spoke Spanish with them, which was a great time, but they had no problem jumping into English when needed.) As for the hotel itself: beautiful! Tasteful decorations, historic architecture and tons of plants. (Despite the name, it's more of a bed and breakfast.) Surprisingly cool and quiet from the noise of the city outside (the walls do a good job of muffling noise, but do note that concerts in the nearby Auditorio Guelaguetza can still be heard, and can run after midnight!). Breakfasts were simple (continental style, eggs and beans, toast etc.) but tasty (fresh fruit, fresh salsa, homemade yogurt and juices), and served daily (the staff will ask the evening before if you plan to eat breakfast, so as to not be wasteful). Central location made it super easy to get to the Zócalo or to hop on a van to Monte Albán. My room was always clean and well-appointed; I didn't want for anything during my stay.
My only (very minor) complaint is that WiFi coverage doesn't reach the dining room, due to the thick walls. (Each guestroom and the courtyard have their own WiFi repeater to get around the wall issue. But really I should have just left my phone in my room!) And while it didn't bother me specifically that much, my mattress was pretty firm. I could see that being an issue for some guests.

Everything was fantastic - I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Truly, the pictures do not do it justice, and can't speak to the hospitality of the owners and staff! Plus, the entire staff was so helpful and kind - they provided restaurant recommendations and helped us book excursions for a very reasonable cost. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was great -hey had quick offerings (like yogurt, granola, toast) or homemade (delicious) breakfasts if you have a little more time in the morning.

There are so many good things to say about Hotel Casa Pereyra! The location is excellent. So many sites are within walking distance. The breakfast was delicious. We looked forward to the local fresh fruits, and the Oaxacan coffee was exceptional. But what we liked most were the people. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. We received help with restaurant recommendations and reservations, transportation arrangements, directions, etc. This place is an absolute gem!

The small hotel is a refuge from the busy Independencia Street it is located on. We have stayed here numerous times over the years. Suites 1 through 4 are on the small but nice courtyard and all have kitchen facilities if you like. Suites 1 and 2 have two bathrooms (upstairs and downstairs) with air conditioning if needed. Suite 4 is the largest with lots of light and an upstairs balcony, Unfortunately, due to Covid, there was no continental breakfast as there were in the past years. They plan to bring back the breakfast in a few months (May/June). They still had, in the reception room, a bottle of a tasty citrus infused mezcal which you were welcome to take a shot of. The wifi has been improved and is excellent. We will stay here next year again.

The staff is amazing! This hotel is owned and ran by a family, who are originally from Oaxaca so you get a great recommendations on places, food, history, tours, transportation, everything! The location is perfect! just 2 blocks away from the zocalo and Mercado Benito Juarez, everything is within walking distance. I highly recommend this place, it is super clean and again, it’s biggest highlight is the personal touch and customer service from the entire staff. We would definitely stay here again! :)

The galley kitchen was adequate for simple breakfast or lunch preparation. This hotel would not be appropriate for anyone with mobility issues. You climbs stairs to the bedroom in the suites. The location is good and within walking distance to restaurants, markets and the cathedral. It was very quiet during our stay. Parking would probably be very difficult. Overall, it was a good value and I needed a kitchen.
Our room was dusty and the floors were dirty when we arrived, it probably hadn’t been used recently. We came back on the first afternoon to a clean room and there was daily cleaning. Maybe it was just an oversight.
