The hotel’s architecture and furnishing is really cute and quaint. The pool was also a treat to have especially since it was really hot during my stay.

It’s not so much that I didn’t like the hotel or staff but I guess more directed to booking. I booked a double room with separate beds but when the I got to the hotel, staff could not assist with the mix up and of course there was no way to contact booking to clarify this issue. Booking through a third party agency isn’t helpful when problems arise and hotel staff can’t address the issues.

Location and safety it has a nice pool beautiful hotel with history. It has a water machine hot and cold a plus for that. You can walk and everything is near by. some of the staff was very nice. The restaurant is inside and it's beautiful the food is ok.

The room too small. the air-condition too cold and could not stayed in the temperature we want it. not enough lite. The staff did not help me with my elderly mom to have a room with no stairs. I did have to change my room that I booked with my friend and move to the one the family booked. they did not help me with a room for 4 people with no stairs. in one of the rooms did not have a hair dryer. we found small white insects in one of the furniture. The staff took care of it.

The hotel is beautiful and the location could not possibly be better - you're five minutes' walk from the Zocalo, five minutes from Santo Domingo, and about 15 minutes from Xochimilco by foot. Restaurants are everywhere. The downside to being centrally located is the street noise, which is probably an issue everywhere in Centro Oaxaca. If you want quiet, ask for a room in the back of the building - but know that you'll then have no view. The beds were on the hard side, which we appreciated - very comfortable for us.

The street noise is pretty epic - but again, that's the price you pay to stay in Centro. The hotel restaurant is really not great, especially compared to the incredibly restaurants nearby. And because the pool is in a 16th-century convent courtyard, it's open to the sky but gets direct sunlight only between 11am and 1pm in February. So it's really too cold to swim otherwise. These are SMALL complaints. We really enjoyed this place.

the building is really cool and has different places to chill, the pool, roof terrace, tables and chairs dotted around and you can get beers and coffee from the restaurant bar which is great. a lovely woman made me coffee each morning which was a treat. the staff were helpful and friendly but left you to it. it’s a little bit scruffy in places around the pool but it’s part of the charm with an old building. they have a water cooler to fill up bottles which I found so helpful as most places don’t have that and you end up buying lots of plastic. location is perfect!!

the pillows were a bit lumpy and the bed wasn’t the most comfortable. we asked for different pillows and they did get us different ones but they were pretty much the same. but honestly I’d go back to stay again. the staff did everything they could.

Love the location and the pool. This is a very Mexican hotel. Just be careful of all the stairs and steps. This place is a bit of a maze. I even had additional steps down into my room. All in all, a great little place to stay in downtown Oaxaca. They have filtered water which is amazing.

My room was quiet for the most part, but when it got closer the the weekend, people started using its out of the way location to take long phone calls. Pool was packed one afternoon. I not love having to knocked on hotel front doors to get in in the evening but generally the door was just closed not locked.

Old world charm and good reception and porter staff to greet. Rooms are on the small side but perfectly adequate and have everything you need ( iron hairdryer). Some bedrooms are lighter than others.-and quieter. The pool is a plus with a few loungers for relax. some other outdoor seating areas dotted around the hotel. I’m Breakfast was good and easy to order and punctual. All in all with its relation so close to the main square- it’s not a bad option.

Decor was a little shabby- it would look amazing if painted white and azure blue with a few bright Mexican carpets on the walls ,

The building is beautiful, near everything of importance in Oaxaca, very clean.

There is too much junk (antiques?) in the beautiful corridors that make the space full of outdated artifacts. Ex. spectacular ficus trees in the patio, next to a fake, pink, cherry tree. Bicycles, singer sewing machines and very bad art in the walls, fake bird cages. The place just need some uniformity in the decor, new mattresses, nicer bedspreads, and better cushions for the outside chairs. Also the entrance could be prettier. I repeat, the place is beautiful it can be a lot better.

This hotel is a gem in an ancient, historic, charming, refurbished building with many different types of rooms and values. We looked carefully with booking for bed sizes, room sizes, and locations for our optimal stay. For our first stay, we had a bigger room with two beds toward the front of the building with good access for the restaurant and the charming nativity scene, filtered water, and good WIFI. (The noise level was fine even though busier in the day but quiet at night). As we extended our stay and had a room change, the communication figuring out the type of room was varied since both times it said pool view but neither actually had. The second room in the back was quieter, more stairs to climb and less stable WIFI with the thick 16th century walls, but sufficient to find many cozy seating places throughout the building to relax. Some rooms have more windows and light than others. Pool view was not as stated, but did have an inner courtyard, and we did relax by the pool although too cool for us to swim. In the end both rooms were different but good for different reasons. Overall after we settled in, the front desk staff, cleaning staff, and the restaurant staff were all very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed both stays and the relaxed vibe, good comfort food on site and great nearby walking. No fridge, but we loved the sustainability and that we had filtered hot and cold water provided since we had our own tea and chocolate to mix. We would stay here again with the right room to fit our needs.

Upon reception with the welcome staff, it took us a bit of time to figure out that we did not have breakfast included or coffee provided in the room (even though a coffee maker was in one room we had but not another). Then we figured out that we could order coffee from the restaurant, and that the filtered water had both hot and cold water to make our own drinks if needed. We did not have breakfast included but then were able to get breakfast ordered for a good value and tasty.
