Lovely spot in Oaxaca. Really appreciated staying in the northern part of town, too. The staff were very kind and helpful and the daily hot breakfast was varied and fantastic. The room was large and nice and the AC was cold. Would recommend staying here. Lots of mezcal available at the hotel to try and buy, too. We were traveling for my bday, and they presented me with chocolate and a bottle of mezcal on my last day. Super great folks.

Not much to dislike. It's on a relatively busy street so you can hear a lot of traffic though really only around rush hour. We had one issue with the shower, but it was fixed promptly by the time we were back in the day. The staff doesn't speak much english, which is just an opportunity to keep working on your spanish!

first of all, we have to mantion Antonio- he was amazing! so nice, welcoming, informative and helpful. he recomended a tour of the sights around oaxaca and it was amazing! the hotel was very nice, the room was big and everything was comfortable and clean. a nice bonus- the minifridge was full of drinks and they were free! we loved our short stay in oaxaca and in hotel Nardazul

In all the reviews we read people talked about how amazing the breakfest is. it was very nice indeed, fresh and homemade, but it didn't live up to the hype. the only other thing is the location. the hotel is located a bit far from the center of town, about 15 minutes walk, but its not so bad...

The exterior is deceiving as it doesn't look like much, but once you enter, it is a true 'oasis' in the midst of a busy city. It's quiet, serene, peaceful, and a beautiful place to relax and come 'home' to at the end of a long day of sightseeing. Antonio and Alma at the front desk are friendly and knowledgeable with a network of connections. They point you in the right direction in terms of restaurants, bars, and local tour guides. The daily complimentary hot breakfast is a reason alone to book this hotel as Yolanda and staff are gracious, kind, and the food is absolutely DELICIOUS. Each day it's something different, and this surprise is fun. They also are able to accommodate your dietary needs, which is nice. The rooms are modern with a Oaxacan twist. We loved how roomy, quiet, and private they felt. We also appreciated that each of the 8 rooms comes with its own private balcony or terrace -- we certainly enjoyed our espresso and/or mezcal there each day.

The room tends to be quite dark, even with all the lights on. It would be nice to have some brighter lights, or at least a reading light in bed.

Small, quiet, impeccably clean, and personal. We were a little worried about the distance from the central sites of the city, but it's an easy 10-minute walk to the main street. The staff was professional, friendly and very helpful. Spacious rooms with a small terrace. Security was good and enjoyed the little private outdoor patio. A lovely breakfast is served every morning from 8 to 10 am.

There is not enough light in the bathroom and the additional full-length mirror in the room is placed behind the small refrigerator so it is not easy to see yourself fully.

the hotel is small with only 8 units so it is very private. The landscaping and bird song are exquisite. The staff are very friendly and Antonio the owner is very helpful. I liked the design of the property, contemporary but with Oaxacan touches like little rugs and artwork. Each unit has a small balcony or patio to enjoy the greenery and flowers. They also helped with getting taxis or organizing drivers for outings. We were well looked after.

The hotel is on a busy road which you don’t notice when you are inside the property but when you step out you notice it.

Beautiful second floor room with a small balcony. Spacious and comfortable, great mattress, pillows etc. Good outlets and lighting. Not in town but do-able walk to the main street of restaurants and bars. Staff was helpful to set up taxis and for information. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious every day.

Street noise on weekdays. Although the property is enclosed, it's on a one lane one way street that was pretty busy on the weekdays. We could hear this traffic in the morning. (We live in a very quiet place, and are late risers. Hearing cars and trucks in the AM isn't typical for us. A city dweller or early riser won't notice or care.) Nothing that a pair of earplugs didn't solve. And the place was so lovely & beautiful, we ignored it.

Location: just perfect. Easy access to touristy downtown but also the more interesting Xochimilco and Reforma areas Breakfast: really good and fast Staff: let us check in early and had a guy there (sorry, can't remember his name) who casually walked us through all the different mezcal varieties and offered some tastings and had some phenomenal mezcals for pretty reasonable prices Hotel: small so feels intimate: and a small thing but really nice - free drinks in the room fridge. Didn't take advantage of much of it but it's a small but generous gesture.

There wasn't a tonne of soundproofing between our bathroom and the common area for breakfast - a wee uncomfortable

It was lovely and quiet, albeit off a main road but you couldn’t hear the noise in the rooms. The decor of room was nice and having a few different soft drinks in the mini bar was welcomed after a day out in the heat! Breakfast was great and always something different on offer. We got given a map on arrival with some tips of where to eat etc which was helpful.

Just a couple of small things: 1) lighting in the room was quite strange - because there isn’t much natural light you had to turn on lots of different lights at times to see properly and the switches were all in confusing places, and 2) the aircon was right beside the bed so whoever was lying on that side got blasted with it.

casa de Suenos is an oasis in Oaxaca City! beautiful garden setting for the delicious daily breakfast - great local foods, different every morning. Our room was comfortable, quiet and every detail was perfect. Antonio is the perfect host. Charming and gracious, he made everything as easy as possible. Arranged a private tour for us and a very early ride back to the airport. He gave us a very detailed map of the area with suggested restaurants and activities within walking distance. We would highly recommend to anyone visiting Oaxaca City.

i absolutely loved my room. i had the room right above the reception and it was huge with a big patio. the bathroom was exquisite. i strongly recommend this place for any person that loves, location (close, but not in the middle of all the noise). this place is a five min or less walk to the main area. love love the location. the breakfast was fabulous and Antonio make sure our breakfast was ready early on the days I was going on tours. Thank you Antonio for your help and good dinner recommendations.
