Ocean Maya Royale Adults Only - All Inclusive

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was spacious, well-stocked and comfortable (bed was great!), and the grounds were beautiful. The pools were great and close to the beach, and there were a few different areas you could hang out. We loved playing tennis and using the gym (basic), and there was also table tennis, beach volleyball, etc. There was amazing wildlife to observe too!

The food was just ok. We really liked the japanese restaurant and the buffet lunches, but the italian restaurant was shockingly bad (every single dish we had was terrible) and the breakfast buffet was not to our taste. They did have a bbq one night which was very good. One of the pools is a real party pool, with loud music and an MC running games and things on a mic. This was fun at times, but went every day from about 9am-6pm and was heard far and wide. Fun if you got involved though!

The resort was very nice. Good sized rooms, very private, nice balcony with a view of the ocean. Resort was a good size - not too big, not too small. Several options for dining - the Italian restaurant was the best and the Japanese was also good. The food overall was average - pretty much what I expect from an all-inclusive at this price point. Service was good, drinks were good. Both the beach and the pools were very nice. Not the best beach access as they have a concrete barrier installed but you just have to go to the sides to get in the water. Wonderful being adults only. They also had pretty good entertainment at night - better than many other resorts I've been to.

The food was average, but they did have several good restaurants.

Our stay at Ocean Maya Royale was amazing, for sure we will return one day. We came here as a couple celebrating both our birthdays and were not disappointed. • Check-in was fast and got relevant information, a bit many forms to complete and sign but other than that ok. They did not try to sell us any upgrades which was good because we realized its not worth it anyway • We got a room in building 8 which was very conveniently located close to the beach and pool as well. The room was nice and clean. The only thing which was super annoying is that is a room connecting with another room which made it horrible when you got super noisy neighbors. It’s just one wood door that separates the rooms which makes you hear EVERYTHING! One night the other room was having a party and we complained about this yet they never came to end it. We ended up awake till morning hours. Maybe the hotel should give this kind of rooms only to people traveling in groups. • Another issue which we didn’t like was that housekeeping left us only 1 towel every day. So each night when we wanted to shower first we had to call reception and wait 20-30 minutes for them to bring towels so we could shower. Super annoying! Also we had the A/C set on 26 degrees C, yet every time we came from the beach we had to enter a freezing cold room of only 18C. • Food was good, we liked that for dinner you had a choice of multiple restaurants and without the hassle of booking in advance. Other than that dinner was usually good in the buffet as well. Lunch could be done by the restaurant by the pool with good mexican food choices or you could order room service which was included in the all inclusive package. Breakfast could maybe have some more choices. The only thing really disappointing about food were the desserts. I tried so many different cakes and every time ended up disappointed as they all tasted like they were multiple days old.

Coatis are cute, but they are everywhere, especially at restaurant outside. Can't leave your table for a second or they climb on the chair trying to get food. Super annoying and unsanitary. The worst was when they got into the garbage room at my villa complex. Dozens of them dragging garbage to the bottom of the stairs, squeeling with delight. I was afraid to go down the stairs from my 2nd floor room. Gross!!!

Elia helped my finance and I take photos after she led us on a wonderful tour to the laguna. She continued to help us through out the trip and was very supportive. She and other staff like Angel made the place worth coming back to again. The food, beach access, and pool bar were among some of our favorite parts.

Bathroom door didn't shut so her getting ready in the morning and trying to be quite while I still slept was difficult. Other thing is people leaving towels on chairs all day. Maybe have a place near the pool for people to leave their stuff when they aren't occupying chairs. Room service took a long time to show up and then arrived with everything cold.

Loved the room, the location, the weather, the architecture and the beautiful flora and fauna.

Making reservations for dinner was complicated. Could never get a space around the three pools to lounge. The staff misled us at times. My companion could speak Spanish so there was no excuse.

The staff were amazing and very friendly. The grounds were beautiful and manicured. The pools were beautiful and the bartenders kept the drinks coming. I would definitely go back to this all-inclusive resort.

The food was just OK, and the portions were small. Most of the restaurants were a li carte so you could always order more and a few times I did on the small side portions. Reservations were hard to get at a few restaurants, so plan your meals a day ahead, so you don't miss anything. I would forget to get a reservation that morning and I had to miss a few restaurants. The buffet was good with several options for breakfast and lunch.

Massages were amazing, staff was super nice and helpful with transportation/scheduling, everything was clean, and drinks were good.

Food was just ok, beaches were covered in seaweed, Mani/Pedi at the spa wasn't good, coffee shop didn't open till late, restaurant times didn't line up with when you get back from excursions. Need a sandwich bar or a to go food area.

Resort was clean and facilities were great.

Food was repetitive and music from activities is too loud so was hard to relax on the beach. They are supposedly caring for animals and deers but we found out that they give them trash (including cuttlery and plastic) so that those animals whose habitat has been significantly reduced over years have no food anymore. Food options and quality were surprisingly good. All restaurants offered reasonable vegetarian options. Coffee shop was very nice. Entertainment was very enjoyable - the Latin Music night and Fire show were particular good. Caring staff - special shout out to Rafael (at the Hacienda), Julio (Entertainment team), Miguel (Concierge) and Luis (guest services). Loved walking to the cenote.

They should provide reasonably-priced shuttle service to downtown playa. Blue Moon restaurant was a little underwhelming.
