Grand Riviera Princess - All Inclusive

I will say, the reviews made me nervous. The people complaining in these reviews are clearly the kind of people who will find anything to complain about. This place was amazing, especially for the price, and most of the staff were nothing short of delightful. I have stayed at Beaches resorts and this resort cuts it close for less than half the price. The a la carte restaurants do need reservations, but if you can’t get one on the app just talk to the concierge and 9/10 times they can get you a table.

We did have one issue towards the end of our trip - my boyfriend caught a stomach bug and couldn’t leave the room. I went to the sports bar and asked if I could take food to go and the bartender told me no. I explained to him that my boyfriend was very sick and couldn’t leave the room and needed to eat and he just said “sorry.” and walked away. I’m sure people get the stomach bug often in Mexico, and they should make sure those people are able to eat without paying extra for room service. Oh, and they don’t provide hair conditioner so make sure you pack your own.

We loved our stay with the kids and grand children at this hotel. Lots of things to do for the children. Wildlife was so fun to see. Monkeys, coties, iguanas. Buffet was good too. Restaurants where a hit and miss. Entertainment was excellent in the evening shows. Bars where good and we did not find them watered down. Waterpark for the kids was so fun and they loved it. The beach is the best part, shallow and warm water. Staff where very friendly to us. We would all come back here again in a heartbeat. Don't listen to the other negatives. Yes, this is not a 5 star hotel, so don't expect it to be. Its a 4 star hotel and we where very satisfied.

Beautifully maintained grounds, thoroughly cleaned everywhere, unbelievable choice of food at the buffet restaurant, all staff very friendly and polite, wildlife literally on you doorstep. We stayed in a villa, fantastic room overlooking the manmade lagoon, private pool, bar, waiter and concierge, and a separate beach area. Only 30% capacity so plenty of space, no waiting at the bars. Was Value for money because of the heavy discount, not sure if would be the same if we paid a higher price.

The special themed restaurants fell way short, they were included in our package, definitely glad didn't have to pay a supplement. Some waiting staff not trained properly, friendly,but very poor service if your server. A management issue. The greed and the waste was a big concern, it's purely personal but all inclusive is not for everyone. Our last time certainly.

The property was beautiful and very well kept. I loved the lighted pathways at night and the beautiful sculptures along the path. there were several pools with swim up pools and lots to do. My villa was amazing!!! I really liked the outside patio where I lounged most mornings and had coffee. when you booked the Villa you had access to a private pool area with delicious drinks, pool side service and cabanas. My room had an outside shower that was best part!!! overall I enjoyed my stay a lot.

The food. Not to going lie, it was horrible in the buffets. But when you booked dinner in the restaurants that food was better. if you have the black bands (Villas), then you can eat at Chillout for free. that place was delicious and the beach view beautiful

great resort - read so many negative reviews which completely put us off! i wish I didn’t as when we arrived we were transported to Platinum, quick easy check in a few mins, great service, clean and amazing huge room with an amazing sea view! al a carte restaurants were all great - buffet so much choice! perfect for a family holiday and at a great price. I’m so sad to be home :( staff work sooo hard with masks on all day long.

The lady in the ice cream shop would not serve us despite being served in there earlier in the week and having 2 hot children about to leave the resort. we were told on an Instagram message that the ice cream parlour is for ALL guests - it is not! we were really upset about the treatment on our last day and a downer on an otherwise amazing stay.

The fact that was a big place so everyone could get their own space to do things and enjoy their vacation time.

The all inclusive part. It turned out it was not all inclusive. I had to pay extra to get ice cream, and to go to two of the restaurants that per description were included. The food at the buffet was always cold. So that is kind of a bummer since it looked really nice.

the resort is full of swimming pools so you can choose to stay near the pool area instead of the beach. this is convenient if there are algae. to dine you can choose the buffet restaurant or one of the many thematic restaurants by reservation. the resort is also full of green areas with mangroves and funny animals. you can also find a travel agent to help you organize your excursions.

I had some problems both in checking in and in checking out using the american express credit card.

room extremely comfortable and spacious personel more than helpful and nice very good food at the buffet and even better in the restaurants (included) , I definitely recommend the teppanyaki. getting something to eat or drink is defintely not a problem i loved the property ground in itself : vegetation everywhere , animals going around , so many pools ! The activities are a nice bonus (shows, gym classes, sea equipment such as paddle kayak and catamaran are free to use etc.) shuttle to playa del Carmen is useful and not very expensive (70 pesos )

wifi in the room was barely working and just enough to use text apps, nothing more there could be more shuttles to playa del Carmen , they go only a few times a day . plus you cannot use them with your luggage (last minute surprise for me) while some of the activities are nice bonus , some are just not really fun or interesting (some shows are not really good, dancefloor doesn’t seem really popular, rifle and archery are more like a kid game etc)

Was a beautiful resort. My partner and I are traditionally backpackers and decided to treat ourselves and see how the other side vacations. It was a great experience all around. The facilities, rooms and food were amazing and the all inclusive aspect was a cool experience.

Main gripe is a small one and probably one most people with a tour company and organized transfers won't run into. When we checked out we were told that we could not get on the bus to Playa del Carmen because it was for "shoppers and trippers only." We just spent a good chunk of money to stay at an all inclusive resort and were told we can't get on the bus because we had our backpacks with us. Instead we had to take a $20 usd taxi and follow the bus. Left a poor taste at the end of an otherwise great stay

The hotel, for the price we paid, exceeded our expectations. Above all a great team of staff, always helpful, they were available for our every request. The food, especially in the theme restaurants was delicious and fresh. I recommend the Platinium option - it gave us access to everything, especially the beach service.

There were a lot of guests in the hotel, so sometimes you had to book a sunbed on the beach early or wait in line for the restaurant.
