Playa Palms Beach Hotel

This place is a gem; so picturesque! I was traveling with my a 4 year old and couldn't be happier of staying here; right around the corner of all restaurants and a cute breakfast spot without hearing the outside noise due to all rooms facing the inside courtyard or ocean. Rooms are practical and come with a little kitchen, beautiful balcony/terrace, table, hammock and great view whether you are looking at the green palm trees or the ocean. The access to both small pool and cute little private beach within seconds was very comfortable. The private beach connects to the next door beach shack (part of El Taj) where you can order excellent drinks and food, that will be delivered to you while you lay at your private spot. Three small tips: if you have young children you may want to consider staying at the ground floor because of the open balcony rails. If you are tall make sure to book the King size bed. If you like grandeur than this is not your spot.

Perfect location- right on the beach! I loved the view from my room, within 5 minutes of 5th Avenue, less then 10 minutes to the bus station. Very close to the busy streets and nightlife, but far enough away that it doesn’t disturb you in your sleep. It was great having a small little kitchenette with a refrigerator and microwave with plates and utensils. Staff was friendly and helpful. Overall it was an awesome place, especially for the price.

The only possible downside would be no elevators, which makes carrying luggage in the heat a little less fun. But luckily there are only 3 floors. The property is non-refundable, but it ended up being totally worth it for me.

Everything was amazing here, I really appreciated the peace and quiet after moving from another hotel last minute due to noise till 3am! Staff lovely and helpful, room was large with everything you may need along with good sized balcony, view and hammock. Little touches like different towel animals on bed every day and gorgeous honey based toiletries on bathroom. Was made to feel very welcome here.

The beach is small and boats are in the way at times but the location, pool and atmosphere make up for it. If a wider, busier beach is what you require just walk a few metres towards main beach.

Everything was great! Ocean view, jungle vibe, warm pool, breakfast delivered on time to our room each day, hammock on balcony. Warm water with good pressure for showers, foot washing stations to rinse sand off feet

Boats in that section of beach (not hotels fault) Coffee that comes with continental breakfast isn’t great, and does not come with milk or cream (can pick up a carton of milk at oxxo store up the street for 35 pesos) this is just suggestions not a complaint, we really enjoyed our stay, thoroughly, and we are grateful, thank you

Me and my wife booked Playa Palms Beach after spending our time at two different hotels close by. This is by far our favorite. The location is perfect, really close to 5th Ave without all the noise, you can sleep with no problems from all the music from 5th at night. The facility is kept very clean and felt safe. Alfredo was best! Courteous, helpful, and super friendly, by far the best receptionist we've ever had. We would def go back and highly recommend!

Small beach with surrounding boats

Perfect location, wonderful staff and breakfast. Great room service. Stunning ocean view. The beach was cleaned and raked every morning.

Wifi did not work first 2 days and was weak for the remaining stay. We couldn’t even load tickets for our excursions. No air conditioned lobby. Provide fans at least while guests are waiting on their rooms. A fan next to the water dispenser next to the seats would suffice. It is very hot in the waiting area. Also, a laundry service is what is expected by most US travelers.

The location is excellent, close to the beach, you can see the ocean from any balcony on the side. The balconies are large with Palm trees view, nice sitting and relaxing areas. The rooms are big, the staff (Fernando) very friendly. The hotel is also located in the heart of the resort, very close to shopping and entertainment but surprisingly you could not hear the noise in the room :). Playa del Carmen gave us the feeling of safe place, with a lot of police on the streets, at any hour of night and day, literally anywhere we went.

On the beach in front of the hotel there was a mountain of algae which made the beach impossible to use and also release a bad smell.

The design of the hotel was very nice with the pool running along between two terraces of units with the beach on one end. The room had nice kitchenette. We arrived very late as this was a last minute booking because our late flight caused us to miss our ferry to Cozumel. They where very accommodating. This hotel was so much nicer then the more expensive hotel we ended up staying at on Cozumel, so much so that we wished we had booked the whole trip at this hotel. location in town is very nice and central, just off on a side street near a busy main street.

Lots of night clubs and stuff near by. Great if you want a restaurant open late but that also means lots of drunken party goers in that nearby area and people wandering around late at night.

very good location, close to all the shopping and restaurants but quite just around the corner. very clean and spacious rooms. property has security day and night. very nice staff. overall beautiful. you can watch beautiful sunset by the water.

the beds are really uncomfortable, they should really invest in the mattress. the pool is small and cold but not a big deal. the hotel has water access but is really no beach to actually swim. it’s a small sandy space and all the boats parked in front.

Lovely design of hotel. All rooms facing each other but landscape provided privacy. Every room with a hammock and table/chairs on balcony or lanai. Ground floors ideal for family or group of friends traveling together. Little beach right there. Close to Calle Quinta but without the noise. Well stocked kitchenettes. For a few bucks more they bring breakfast to your room! Heaven.

They probably need to evaluate the beds. Some of us had terrific beds and some (mine) needed replacement. Those woth mobility issues ask for ground floor as there is no elevator.
