Hotel Mariachi by Kavia 5th Av

The location was perfect, close to the beach and near the long “famous” strip. The pool was small but after a long beach day nice to jump into. Our room was on the round floor, right next to the pool which was perfect as we like to have our own’ bought beer at night. The beds were comfortable and there was enough space for oir clothes.

The shower was dirty. I ran my finger along the edge of the shower and it was completely full of dust. Furthermore, the sheet was covered with stains. We had not reported this because the other bed was fairly clean. But watch out for that. There was also some noise from the clubs near the hotel but we were able to sleep through that.

I unexpectedly had to stay at Hotel Mariachi for one month due to a stressful housing issue and my stay was 100% WONDERFUL! First off, the location is literally the best in Playa. It is super central, on a beautiful tree lined pedestrian street. You are seconds away from 5th street with the shops/restaurants and a 5 minute walk from the beach. The hotel itself is very tranquil, well appointed, well maintained and quiet and most importantly, very safe. The room size is large and it has a refrigerator. The cleaning staff is very efficient and thorough. The multiple people on the front desk staff are incredibly nice and kind. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel for your affordable stay in Playa. Especially if you are one of the many people that are moving to PLaya and you need a temp place to stay while you search for your new place to live. It is much cheaper and a much better choice than booking an Airbnb.

Fantastic hotel, located on 5th Avenue, 10 minutes walk from the beach. Close to many bars and restaurants. The room is very big and clean, the bed is very comfortable, Wifi connection is very good. The staff is very communicative and helped me a lot during my stay, they were very caring and made sure I was as comfortable as possible during my stay. I loved this place !!! I will come back for sure when I am back to Playa Del Carmen.

Excellent location at the heart of playa del carmen. I was worried that we could rest because of the noise of 5th avenue, but I was wrong this is a gem hotel 2 blocks from the beach and within walking distance of 5th avenue and all its restaurants and tourist destinations. The rooms are very spacious and the bed comfortable. The hotel doesn't offer breakfast, but the price and location don't matter, there is a really good cafe just in front of the hotel. The hotel has a pool, but we don't use it because we prefer to walk to the beach. If you plan to have a lot of activities in playa and need a place to sleep this is the place, it is in a great location.

Nice hotel in the heart of La Quinta. Huge room with an awesome balcony right on the corner of La Quinta, behind a huge tree. Loved the location, walkable distance anywhere. Staff always friendly and smiling. There's a little pharmacy right next door. Simple decoration but very comfortable.

The ceiling fan didn't work, and there were no blankets, just bedsheets. Walls are thin, so you may hear the neighbors, but it wasn't too annoying. Can be loud sometimes as it's in the heart of it all.

Very Central & quiet street actually.. of course you can hear the music in the evening a bit cause its just near to 5th where all shops & restaurants are, but better than anywhere else i think! ..staff was always friendly greeding also the cleaning lady was very nice, always got some extra shampoo & lotion in the room!

a bit pricy for the furnshing & room with "balkony" cause it can happen that u get the room on the backyard side so u'll be staring at a wall like no few ..maybe the rooms are cheaper when its not high-season like christmas

The staff was always very helpful and friendly, they let us check in early which was a real help with the luggage and heat. The room was decently sized and perfectly acceptable, and most importantly the AC cranks like nobody's business!

The hotel policy forbids taking towels out of a hotel that is a short walk from the Caribbean! I'm sorry but you should provide seperate beach towels for the use of your guests, if they lose them or destroy them then of course charge them for replacements. Know if you have a vehicle there are no parking acommodations. Parking nearby on the street is metered from 10am-10pm, it is pretty cheap (10 pesos an hour) but with an official limit of 6 hours. I don't know how much the parking is really enforced, but wouldn't want to risk a headache.

The staff was very friendly and kind. I accidentally left some medication in the refrigerator ( yes they have one in the room and it had a little freezer box in it!) and they held it for me until I returned for it. Furthermore, they thanked me for coming and getting it. Who does that? There was a restaurant next door with live music -- really nice soul music. I was worried that it would keep me up all night, but they were quiet by 10:30. Perfect! the room has blackout curtains and it was very quiet after that. I would stay there again.

Only missing a ramp to wheel your luggage up to the door. there was one narrow one, but too narrow for my luggage.

very central, everything within walking distance. spacious and the balcony was a winner.

apart from having to lug up a heavy suitcase to the top level (3) all good.

Enjoyed the stay. It was in a nice location for everything, but just on a side street away from the loud bars that go on until the early hours. Staff were friendly- had a small issue with our toilet that was dealt with straight away!

The pool was a bit of a let down, with no beds available to chill in. Could have done with some more outdoor seating options.
