Moonshine Hotel

A really fantastic, friendly hotel! The room was very comfortable, air conditioning worked well, great shower pressure with hot water, and a really decent sized balcony overlooking all of the lovely atmosphere outside! There was a big fridge/freezer in the room and adequate facilities to cook meals. The housekeeping staff were all fantastic, towels and linens were changed daily and the room remained clean. Shampoos/soaps/toilet rolls were also provided and topped up as needed. The pool isn’t the biggest but it’s still a great place to cool off. The front desk team are all very welcoming and genuinely lovely people. As it’s a fairly small hotel they know you by name and always wave as you walk past with big smiles and like to chat and get to know you, couldn’t fault them at all, a real credit to the hotel! It’s literally in the heart of all the action, with nightclubs, bars and restaurants around the corner, so of course it can be a little noisy at night, but it’s usually silent after 2am and I could sleep earlier with earplugs. I like to go out though so didn’t mind this at all, the location was perfect!! Just a few minutes walk from the ADO bus station as well so easy to travel around. There’s a 7/11 opposite which is open 24 hours a day, very handy! The beautiful beach is also just a few steps away, honestly, what more could you ask for in such a well priced hotel? I’m already planning my next holiday there!!

The noise at night could potentially be off putting to some, but they do have quieter rooms available as far as I know. the noise didn’t bother me though!

All just perfect. Amazing place, stuff. Evertything clean. For what you pay, its 10/10. Location cant be better. This is place that I will reccomend to all my friend. In description is written that can be loud at night, so that's no reason for bad review.

Apsolutly nothing.

To me was the best stay I had in PDC. The staff is like nowhere else. The hotel has some pretty magic corners, such as the terrace and the communal area before the little bridge. I adored the decorations, I love the vegetation and the architecture of it. The room was fairly basic but I had what I need: stove, couple of plates and mugs and cutlery.

Please do not book the hotel and then complain of the noise, of course there is noise coming from clubs and discos. Really cannot wrap my mind around the review of people that want to be central but away from the noise. 99% of the structure near 5avenida are from the 80'!

Hotel is centrally located in Playa del Carmen, just few steps from 5th Avenue. From 6 p.m until 1 a.m the music from clubs around is very loud, but for us was not a problem at all, we enjoy it. If you enjoy parties is the best place to stay. We had wonderful family suite with balcony and view on the street. Rooms were cleaned every day, guys at the reception are super friendly and helpful.

Kitchen was not equipped (glasses, cups…), so you need to bring it with you. I will not recommend this hotel to people who are looking for solitude and relaxing place. I will recommend this place to traveler who like parties, loud music and action ;).

Great place and even better people. Attentive, helpful and very friendly. I had a suite and it was a most pleasant place to spend a few days. The Hotel is MUCH bigger than you would expect with new things to discover round every corner, I even discovered a rooftop gym.

The only thing to consider is that it is right in the centre of club land. The bass kicks in about 20.00 and runs till 02.30 & earplugs are not going to help much (certainly not in the rooms at the front or south side). Not a problem if you are here to party though :-)

Location, nice front desk, nice architecture clean and walking distance to everything.

A little noisy until 2 am since the big clubs are on the same street. But not to bad.

It is just a few steps from La Quinta Avenue. The staff is very nice. Hotel was clean. You have a great coffee shop “Alamo” just right in front of this hotel. You have great TACOS on the side. Also you have a 7eleven convenience store next to the coffee shop. PARKING: costs $10 pesos an hour from 10:00 to 22:00, basically the night and early morning for free. Don’t even miss 20 minutes of payment or you get a fee.

The room was clean, newly renovated, with a balcony and a TV with many english channels. The staff was extremely helpful, offered extra towels, extra pillows, and did a great job responding to any requests. The location of the hotel is right in the middle of it all. Close to Lido Beach Club, Quinta Avenida, across the street from 7/11, as well as great restaurants and nightclubs. Such good value! I really enjoyed my stay.

Listen... It's very loud from about 7PM-2AM. The windows can't shut it out, the walls do vibrate, I put in wax ear plugs and went to sleep. If you plan to party, it's perfect. If you are a heavy sleeper it's perfect. If you are a light sleeper or need silence I would NOT recommend this place.

Loved the hotel! We got the family suite with the private jacuzzi on the roof top. Was great fun! Beds were king sized and rooms very spacious. There are night clubs down the the street so if you are sensitive to noise you might need earplugs....the noise didn't bother us or our 6 year old. We loved ppl watching from the balconies and sitting in the jacuzzi listening to the party down the road. Owner speaks English and is super helpful with reccomendations and got us into our room a couple of hours early which was so great. Inside courtyard is beautiful! We will love to stay here again one day!!!!

The hotel is located in the center When my boyfriend and I came they were super kind and smiling all the time, they just wanted us to feel as comfortable as possible! The room was minimalistic but we just wanted a clean room and good shower and we didn't except that the location will be so so great! We came with bus of ADO and we walked about 15 minutes in the main road from the terminal
