Riviera Maya Suites

We stayed in a bungalow and it was perfect ! Amazing space and we felt like we were in the midle of the jungle and at the same time close to everything by foot ( beach/ quinta avenida/ supermarkets) . And of corse the extreme atention and symphaty we felt from the staff, they were amazing. If i have come back i’ll choose the same space . And we love “Coco, the queen “ 🐈

Some noise from the street at night, but i think it’s unavoidable due to proximity to the 5a Avenida.

Our staying was amazing! Based on the experience, we extended staying at this hotel by one week. We stayed in apartment nr. 203 with a garden view (really recommend). During our staying, other guests were mainly elder people from Germany and Switzerland who I learnt keep going there every winter. Apartment facilities was modern, cozy, A/C did it job properly. The pool area is amazing and very often, we were only people there. You can use a big pool or a smaller jacuzzi based on your preferences. You can walk to a beach easily within 3-5 minutes, there is also bunch of smaller supermarkets nearby (OXXO, 7Eleven), bigger shopping can be made in Wallmart which is also within walking distance. Few tips if you consider this hotel: - It is worth the money to pay for garden view as the streets might get a bit loud during weekends, - There are two properties, we stayed in apartment nr. 203 which was not part of Riviera Maya Suites per se (sorry, i forgot the building name), whereas our property has a bigger rooms and pool. I would go for rooms 202,203,302,303. - If you plan a longer staying, the hotel has special offers, just let them know. - Don't be afraid of 5th evenue noise if you book garden view rooms. - Don't use service of taxis on the 5th evenue, rather walk to 10th evenue and get lower rates. - Rockas Jamaican Kitchen is a must, but they do not accept only cash. - I had troubles with money withdraval in ATMs nearby, ATMs in Wallmart worked though.

Great location next to the main strip, but quiet and safe. Bungalow had everything we would need for a long stay. We stayed a week an a half. The garden was a superb botanical dream, with birds and even a couple friendly cats (which my daughter loved) and another furry local creature to make it feel like a tamed, cultivated jungle. The pool great for kids too with several shallow areas. Front desk staff extremely helpful, providing towels and chairs and local knowledge. Would only stay here if returning to Playa del Carmen.

Nothing - everything was great. Internet went out a couple times - but that was all of Playa del Carmen - not the hotel's fault.

The rooms and pool were even nicer than they looked in the pictures. Everyone was able to have their own rooms with nice private bathrooms in each bedroom. The front desk was amazing! We were a large group across multiple rooms and they were able to set up multiple great day trips for us to tulum and cozumel reefs on pretty short notice. They also had perfect recommendations of all the best restaurants in the area. Hotel is a block from the beach and right in the middle of everything. Even then the garden suite was in a very wooded area and felt very private with lots of little animals running around (saw a few tiny raccoons, agoutis, and coatis to name a few.) I could spend a whole trip just relaxing in the hammock in the garden suite.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in! It had such a fabulous tropical feel, and the bungalow room was super private. We loved the thatched roof and the hammocks. It was sooo relaxing to lay out there and listen to the birds sing amidst the palm trees - felt like a private tropical island. And we loved the beautiful garden pool. Somehow, this hotel manages to be steps away from both the beach and the vibe-y Fifth Avenue and still be quiet and tranquil. A tropical paradise! You can walk to everything.

The floors were a bit slippery when wet (as I found out the hard way!). There are a bunch of steps to some of the bungalow rooms which might be difficult for some guests.

I loved everything about this property. I am a long-time booking.com customer and this was one of the nicest properties I have ever booked. I stayed for 8 nights and everyone on staff was helpful and friendly. I felt so well taken care of. I had a 2-bedroom apartment (which was ENORMOUS) and was thrilled that daily housekeeping was included. The grounds are well cared for. Every morning as we enjoyed coffee on our balcony, we could see the grounds keeper cleaning the pool. The pool is surrounded by beautiful trees, which shade the pool area. I also appreciate that the hotel provides a multi-gallon dispenser with filtered water. During our stay, I requested a new bottle 3 times and a replacement bottle was immediately delivered. They also provide beach towels, which is an incredible perk. Inside our apartment was a separate laundry room with a washer and dryer. They even provided soap and fabric softener. I think the location of this property is ideal. It is very close to the beach and just one block away from the popular pedestrian street: 5th Avenue. Incredibly, despite the closeness to the street where all the action is, our hotel was wonderfully quiet at night. Perhaps the beautiful trees on the property block the noise. In any case, at 10PM each night, all music was turned down.

- location is great, at the end of the Quinta avenue - quiet rooms despite the central location of the hotel - clean rooms which are cleaned every day - pool, jacuzzi, garden - comfortable beds, nice balcony with the view to the garden - comfortable access to rooms (no stairs) - no complementary water in the room, but the water was available in the corridor - there is a shower room at the reception, which can be used after the check out

- sink in the bathroom was a little bit blocked. We informed the reception of this issue, but it was not really fixed. - when we arrived to the room, there was somebody's else water bottle in the room - at the check in, the receptionist did not allow me to pull out my passport from the luggage in the room (I had to open my luggage at the reception). That was a very poor welcoming of the guests. Such inflexibility also demonstrates an excessive mistrust to the customers. - at check in we were not informed of the pool and we were not given the pool towels

The location was perfect, just a block off the main strip allowing easy access but also nice quiet and private accommodations. The pool and hot tub were solid, and the beach was just a short walk away. They also provided a large jug of water and brought a new one whenever asked. The staff were also super friendly. Fantastic place overall!

Mostly just small things like the dishwasher being out of order, there not being enough hot water (though there were nine of us and we usually showered at the same time so probably not a reasonable expectation), and a couple of other minor things. But really nothing that was more than a slight inconvenience, we were very happy with our stay!

We loved our stay at Riviera Maya Suits. Central and right on the action of la quinta avenida! A 5 minutes walk to mamitas beach. We’ll be back ! Maria, our housekeeper is the sweetest and very professional ! Jose the grouds keeper is very friendly, Arturo, was our driver to and from the airport very kind and also very professional, our front desk person ( sorry, I think his name is Jorge) very nice and friendly ! Love Playa del carmen ! Forget all inclusive hotels ! Stay here ! Thank you !

Our apartment overlooked la 5ta avenida and it was loud outside at night, however, we ended getting used to it and enjoying the music performances in the street and people watching from the balcony in our bedroom, while drinking our coffee:). Is not really negative, it was part of the experience and we’ll miss it.

The location was perfect. 5 minute walk to the beach and just off the main strip for bars and restaurants. The staff were always available, helpful and friendly. We arranged a delivery for shopping which they stored in our room for us before arrival. We also arranged the transfer to and from the airport through the hotel, good value and a great driver! The pool area was fantastic, the pool isn’t huge but we pretty much had it to ourselves most days. The added bonus of an occasional visit from a coati made it even more fun!

By no means a moan or complaint but when on the balcony we all got savaged by mosquitos so make sure you have repellent. The hotel is so nice a bar would be amazing so you could spend some more time there. Absolutely nothing to complain about!
