Hotel Riviera Del Sol

Great location. Great value. Basic Breakfast for $10 (dollars) per person from 7a-11a Housekeeping was great and thorough. My room was cleaned everyday. They also loan you beach towels and let you exchange them daily.

The door only had a push button lock. No chain or flip type lock. The noise from the club across the street is VERY loud. We were exhausted from all day excursions and it didn’t keep us up. It starts around 11:00pm and ends around 3:00am.

The staff was very friendly and helpful with everything, we had a lovely time, booked us excursions and all, the location is right in the center and the balcony view was amazing!

Everyone says it, the only downside was that there is a salsa club in front and seemed like they were in the room with us, nothing that earplugs can’t fix after a full day trip in lovely Mexico 🥰

I was stuck in Playa an extra day because of a hurricane and no way to get to Tulum so I booked one night here last minute - so glad I did. When I arrived there was no power, but they were still super nice and let me leave my back there and I came back later after check in. Power was back on, their English was great, they were just so kind (could probably tell I was frazzled). The actual room was incredible, the open area was also nice. Breakfast was delicious. Didn't swim, but saw kids loving the pool. Seemed very family friendly. Close to beach, just off 5th ave., etc. Great location.

Wish parents had to watch their kids better. As a mom on a solo kid-free vacation I was probably more sensitive to noise by children than most would be ha, but I was surprised kids could scream and run around the pool like they did- that maybe says more about their parents than the hotel though, but wish the rules were emphasized in that situation.

Perfect location, just few minutes walk to the beach and to the 5th Ave. Super clean room, perfect AC, beautiful hotel territory, helpful stuff, big and comfortable bed. I'd definitely go back. I've planned to stay 4 days buy extended my stay for 2 weeks.

Sometimes was noisy because of the bar in front of the hotel. But nothing related with the hotel itself.

check in was easy and efficient the location is great to 5th Ave and restaurants and beach etc., Breakfast was great. staff are super helpful, bed was comfy. cleaning was good. nothing to not like.

I was prepared from other reviews about the noise from the salsa bar across the road, however was not prepared for it to be THAT loud. just take ear plugs and you’ll be fine. it’s great hotel and value.

Fantastic location, 1 block off of 5th Avenue, which made it easy to walk everywhere. Beds were sufficiently comfortable. The pool was great to lounge in to escape the heat.

Parking! Like most city hotels in Playa del Carmen, there is no provided parking. Make sure you make arrangements to leave your car somewhere or bring lots of change to feed the meter.

It is a very clean and well-located hotel in Playa del Carmen. The staff is friendly and it carries the basics for a few nights staying there.

Internet and Wifi was poor. and during the night since it is very close to 5ave, that was a little bit noisy and the room didn't have proper noise isolation, so wasn't easy to sleep.

Staff and facilities are awesome. Atmosphere, tropical setting set the tone. Short walk down to the beach for sunrise and moonrise pictures. And of course swimming in the Caribbean. Beautiful

Only drawback is the club across the street plays loud music until 1:00 a.m. every night. A pair of ear plugs saved the night.

Location is fantastic. 2 blocks from the beach and not too close to the shopping mall. Closer to places that expats would go to rather than Senor Frogs.

The clubs nearby are loud and you can hear in the rooms. I did not have any trouble falling asleep as a generally light sleeper but some people may want to bring ear plugs.

Mornings at this hotel were fantastic. The breakfast was great, the staff was wonderful, the location and the sun were incredible.

It was very noisy. There wasn't a full door to the bathroom, there was a window from the bathroom to the hallway, the music at neighboring bars was super loud. It worked for us okay, because I was with my friend and we brought a sound machine, otherwise, it would have been rough.
