Posada Mariposa Boutique Hotel - 5th Avenue

Pretty place on the main strip that is very noisy, and that I did not like, but somehow the place is still quite calm and was fine for me. It was like a little oasis walking inside from the busy street. Nice little area to sit at reception. Room was ok and was clean, not much daylight, but fine for a few days as its very close to the beach. And I had a basic room. The room was nice and spacious. Not many facilities for a boutique hotel but all was fine for me. There is water available which is good. Mostly very friendly staff. Definitely a great place to stay if you want to be right in the busy centre and near to the beach. Airco worked well in the room.

Not much I didn’t like for the few days I was there, however no fridge in the room and no option to us a fridge or kitchen, and some staff that is not too friendly. But all fine if you are just there for the beach and chilling.

The location is fantastic. Right on 5th Ave, it is positioned well that it doesn’t retain a lot of the noise from the bars and clubs nearby. The facility is colorful & relaxing

The AC unit in my room was not stable and left the room feeling humid weirdly. Also it leaked.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. I had a issue with the air conditioner and they promptly got it fixed. I also loved the place where the breakfast was served, food was delicious. And the overall decoration and feeling of the place was very nice. The room was spacious as well and the hotel is right at the main avenue, although it is a little far from the playa del carmen square, it still a good location, considering the beach in that direction and the options of food in the surrounds.

The bathroom didn't smell well, I believe it had to do with the sewer system, but it may be something that could had happen in other places. Another thing I didn't love was how loud it is inside the room until very late past 12am. I don't have problem to sleep with loud sounds and music but for those with light sleep it would be a challenge. I'm not sure what is the reason but had a few days we came back to the room early (1-2pm) from the beach and there were no towels in the bedroom. They would take the used towels and take a few hours to replace with new ones, after they already had complete cleaning the room.

charming , the open roof allowed the occasional rain showers to come into the main part of the hotel. I felt immersed in mature .Posada Mariposa is located in a good central spot on 5th Ave. I could walk in many directions and find what I was looking for within 8 minutes. the beach Mamita was a short walk to the ocean. La Vaca Gaucho just steps away from Mariposa had the best steak dinner . La Vagabundo was so conviene . I could walk steps across the street to get my morning coffee or breakfast . and they open at 7 AM as I’m an early bird .

I wish they had a roof top swimming pool .

We have booked the royal apartment, which size was amazing. The up on the roof terrace and jacuzzi on it were perfect and vey enjoyable. Room was properly furnished and had its own wifi

It would be good idea to place a little more walling around jacuzzi on the terrace to provide a little more privacy. The deposit of 1000 pesos which is nothing comparing with the price of the room but blocks you money. It is prohibited to invite anyone for drink or coffee to the room although it looks like prepared for that, you can only meet outside guest in the lobby. I understand prohibiting a party with people from outside, but day visit is different story, but I think that is the way in Playa del Carmen. Breakfast was exactly the same every day

Liked our room, very spacious. Plus, we enjoyed breakfast very much, at Ambasciata d'italia, and their 15% on extra food orders, whatever on the restaurant menu that was not included in regular continental breakfast. Nice staff at the restaurant.

Sometimes housekeeping forgetting one or another fresh bath towel or beach towel. But it wasn't a big deal, we told staff and they gave us what we needed.

This is an attractive hotel with a beautiful lobby. The breakfast provided was wonderful and more substantial than we anticipated. There was a plate of fruit, yogurt, granola, delicious bread / butter / jam, and juice and coffee. They provided a 30% off coupon if one wants anything else. This coupon worked for us when we ate dinner--this is an excellent Italian restaurant, and the coupon saved us quite a bit on our delicious meal.

This is our own fault for not realizing that the hotel is located on the pedestrian-only Fifth Avenue. We had a hard time finding it at first. We finally parked at random and decided to walk and find it, only to discover that it literally was right around the corner and we had parked quite closely after all. This area is packed with tourist action at night, but surprisingly, I was able to sleep just fine with earplugs. It is NOT a peaceful, quiet hotel, but if being right in the middle of all the excitement is your preference, this is great. Overall, my daughter and I were satisfied with it, but my husband wasn't.

The space is beautiful, love all the vegetation. beds we’re comfortable and the place felt very quiet, it’s well insulated. room right next to 5 th avenue and the with window open we could hear the music nicely but once you close it it was very muffled and quiet. right on 5th avenue which is nice. a great price.

well not really any hot water. though breakfast is provided it’s just fruit, toast and juice and coffee so you might want to add on to it. they do give you 30% off the restaurant which is very nice.

Breakfast was great... continental at an Italian restaurant 3 doors down from the hotel. Very quaint and picturesque hotel inside, not what you would think from the outside. Location great on 5th Avenue, great price and our 2nd time staying here.

Very loud banging on the lift door at 7am (as it was faulty)... which lasted for about 25 minutes. I appreciate that the lift needed 'attention' but not at the expense of a hotel full of people trying to sleep !! Also the bed was uncomfortable.

let’s start with The super welcoming and friendly staff, Maria - Fernanda, Julienne , Anna and Saul. a plus ti Julian for kindly offering a umbrella when it was raining. A simple filing delicious free breakfast at an Italian restaurant , less than a minutes walk, including 30 percent discount off the rest of the substancial menu. The location and value is spot on. Room 14 quiet at night, even though hotel is on 5th Avenue. Highly recomendó!
