Royal Hideaway Playacar All-Inclusive Adults Only Resort

Beautiful grounds, very nice and spacious rooms. Loved that it was comparably small for all inclusive type hotel. Quite and easy going place. Little pockets of hidden pools to relax away from people. Entrance and lobby is spectacular, with lots of caracter. Very nice staff! Safe neighborhood. Beautifull beach and palmtrees! I recommend this hotel if you go for all-inclusive-adults-only! We had nice holidays there. Breakfasts and lunches were great, with lots of options.

Had some "hiccup" with breakfast hostess for simply not wearing the flipflops in the entrance on the breakfast deck on the beach. The dress code is great idea (and it was respected), but really, everyone is on holidays! Let it breathe a bit! An other thing was the dinners were booked and overbooked. My advice is to book the dinners way in advance if you don't want to end up like us having dinner at 10PM and in a hurry because place was closing. We booked all the restaurants when arrived,and already places were booked and not many options with the timings. Had to go and do early dinners at 6PM when was still the best sunset time on the beach. The food was great though. Book the dinners in advance to avoind the stress. Vines could be better as well. But overall I recommend this hotel!

Staff was great!!! A couple of problems, the bar closes early at 5pm by beach and pool, nearest and only bar was at least 200 yards away near check in. I would literally finish my drink before I got back, not enough wait staff by pool and beach. Being asked over and over on the beach to buy merchandise and drugs(Marijuana, Cocaine, Heroin)they need a sting operation on the beach to deter this. Local law enforcement needs to be involved. I bet I said no thank you 2000 times in 5 days. There needs to be a snack bar open all hours...the reservation and formal thing is a little over the top for our taste. Maybe 2 or 3 nights would be ok. Room service takes forever it seems whenever your in a pinch and need to order.

I loved the staff. breakfast was great. location was perfect to 5th ave. loved that there was no kids!

I didn’t like that we had to make reservations for diner and that they couldn’t accommodate a party of seven until 9:30 PM! (who eats that late) we gad reservations one night at spices and the food was horrible. we had pretty much everything on the menu. definitely not authentic.

The food was definitely good and the beach at that location was nice and big. They also had cornhole and volleyball that guests could play at the resort. The drinks were easy to get and we never had a problem with beach chairs (although pool were harder to claim). They put on some fun events like a silent disco, Karaoke, a couple bands, etc. They were very accommodating to my sisters gluten allergy and helped with special requests like a birthday cake. If you want more of a younger club/party vibe this is not necessarily the place for you.

The service was not always the most accommodating (some people were great and others not so much). The rooms AC didn't seem to work well (although we tried to switch rooms other rooms seemed even worse, but we spoke to some guests who didn't have any issues with this). The average age at the resort was much older than me and my sisters which was a bit unexpected. They were lacking some more casual mexican food staples like tacos. The water in the bathtub of the room was a yellow/brown...the whole place was a bit outdated and could use some modernization.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast and the food and services at the restaurants was very good. The service at the bars and around the pool was excellent.

It was difficult to get a reservation at the hotel restaurants. We stayed for six days and all nights the only option was a late dinner, 9 o'clock, at one restaurant that was not full. Twice, we manage to get a table when we showed up without a reservation after we had been told that everything was full. One night when we got a table without a reservation, we noticed that although that restaurant was suppose to be full, more than 2/3 of the tables were not occupied during our dinner. The mattress in the bed was very tired and long overdue for replacement.

Hotel was clean and well maintained. Staff was very polite and ready to help, even tho our concierge was sometimes missing. Wasn't making a huge difference for us. Me and my family had very good vacation.

We would prefer if the hotel had a bit more beach chairs. We would also hopped that hotel staff would clean the beach from the seaweeds. (like near hotels did every mornings, not a big deal for some people, but just would be nice to see) Also hotel doesn't provide straws which is good for the environment, but we weren't prepared and had no straws to drink with. (if we knew we would brought metal straws) =)

The resort was gorgeous, well-maintained and truly peaceful. I loved the many places to sit, relax by the pool, how the beach was easily accessible from the main pool deck. The room was a good size, comfortable, quiet and always clean. We loved sitting on the balcony in the morning, and room service was fast and delicious. All of the food was fantastic — all of the service was top notch as well. Each restaurant offered something a little different, it was fun to explore and try something new every evening. The spa experience was fabulous too — thank you to Iliana and Juliana for an incredible massage and great pedicure! We will definitely be coming back.

The only thing this hotel needs is easily accessible filtered water, not bottled. Sometimes it was a bit of a hassle to get bottled water, but the staff was excellent and always took care of us.

location, sea, views, rooms, grounds and staff. all inclusive is also a major plus.

only minor but 2 things would elevate it to the next level 1. sort out the lighting in the restaurants - it’s way too bright and lowering it would make the experience more enjoyable, ambient and keeping with the luxury 5 star experience. 2. pool music in the afternoons needs to be more curated and the sound quality needs to be better for those who want to be by the pool and enjoy it.

Great location in playacar, very secure and safe. It was our first all inclusive experience and it was really great. Plenty of drinks and food and staff were just incredible. Rooms clean and spacious and 24 hour room service is fabulous.

The beach was polluted with sea weed so we could not swim at all which was disappointing. In terms of resort the only downside was not enough atmosphere, restaurants generally have no background music so you hear dishes making noise and other conversations. There is activities but staff dont do much to get people involved so most dont go ahead. The bar is super quiet and no atmosphere. They need bavkground music or games/activities so people stay and have fun.

Relatively clean, plentiful alcohol, great beach (though unswimmable because of waves), large pool for laps,the servers were friendly.

The women at the check-in desk was bad at her job. She took forever to do anything. A friend used a resort pass to visit me. This woman repeatedly asked for her passport even though she had already seen it. Staff did not come for my luggage as requested on day I left. Food is plentiful, though just average.
