Mimosa Tulum

My friends and I had a fantastic time at Mimosa Tulum. The staff was definitely the highlight - Andrea, Daniela, and Alessio we’re all very attentive, friendly, helpful and kind. They shared wonderful stories and recommendations with us. The breakfast at the hotel was yummy and the drinks were great! They have different drink specials throughout the week so be sure to try them all. ;) The pool is a nice place to hangout and the room was a good size. Jimmy, the owner, also greeted us and asked how our stay was, if there was anything else they could do for us. I highly recommend staying at Mimosa Tulum!

It is an eco-hotel so we try to conserve energy and not use as much air conditioning. The room can get a bit hot.

For the cost this place well exceeded our expectations! Such great vibes! Clean rooms- I stayed in a double bed room with 3 others then move to a teepee for more nights. The double room had plenty of room for 3 adults. And the teepee was for my significant other and myself! Which we absolutely loved! The teepee offers more privacy and amazing decor but the view onto the pool and courtyard from the bed in the double room was amazing! The owner is such a nice guy and has put his heart and soul into this place! The other workers do such a wonderful job here as well! Special thanks Ashley, Frank and Poncho! And the housekeepers! Convenient bike rentals too- which are first come first serve- and sit by reception so you can’t miss em. Awesome breakfast too!

We loved our stay at Mimosa Tulum. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We stayed in a Teepee and it was very spacious and comfortable. It had an air conditioner and fan to keep the room cool. The bed was comfortable and it has a clothes hanger and sink in the room too. The facilities were clean and well maintained. We really liked the common area - sitting by the pool and also in the loft area above the bar. We were recommended TropiTaco and Burrito Amor to eat - both delicious. There is a kitchen and fridge for guests to use but you can’t use it between 9am - 2pm.

One of the days the pool was out of use for cleaning but that’s common across accommodations so didn’t bother us. We also found better scooter and tour deals on the main road than what was at offer at Mimosa.

the best place I’ve been in tulum pueblo. booked the private room with bathroom which was spacious, fresh and very comfortable bed. communal areas such as kitchen and swimming pool are well maintained and gray to chill and cook. close to AKI supermarket and colectivos to go to the beach area. the bar has great atmosphere Tomas and other staff members are really lovely and professional. the place is quiet at night not a party hostel but keeps the hostel vibe making easy to connect with other guests staying here.

Aesthetically beautiful and serene! Clean and accommodating. The staff and the food are amazing! The pool is clean and warm at all times and the furniture is very comfortable.

Our air conditioner in our private room was a little finicky and didn’t turn on easily or get cool fast. But by the evening with the fan going it kept us cool just fine. Honestly that was our only complaint was after traveling all day we wanted really cool a/c and it didn’t work so well. Eventually we got the hang of it.

I left a piece of my heart at Mimosa! This place and the surrounding area is a gem and I stayed a total of 15 days here. 1. Great wifi; I worked remotely during my stay and found the wifi to be extremely fast and smooth. 2. The hotel itself is tranquil and a bit of an oasis from the dusty, construction laded town. The music was usually great, there was constantly someone cleaning and it felt secure. The shared furniture is ample and comfortable, and the hostel beds are actually very comfortable! I was concerned about the beds and sheets in the hostel but they were both comfortable. The curtains provided good privacy and the beds were well-equipped with a fan, a reading light, outlet and shelf. Also, no creaking when you moved! The closet space was also the largest I've ever encountered in a hostel. While you can hear noise when other hotels have parties nearby, the hotel itself is quiet. 3. The people who work here are what really make this place shine. Incredibly helpful, warm-hearted and genuine. My deepest gratitude to Eliseo, Daniela, Andrea, Laura, Juan Pablo and Jimmy. Also, if you come home past midnight the night-guard is incredibly responsive and on the lookout for you. I never had to actually unlock the door, he always saw me approaching and opened it in advance. 4. The area itself is great if you are looking for a calmer side of Tulum. There are two rooftop bars nearby that throw great but small parties, OM collective yoga is a transformational space, Botanica has an amazing temazcal and pool and Alfonsina is great local cafe around the corner. I truly see this area as becoming an artistic hub in Tulum.

1. Sometimes the shower drains were clogged or the water smelt a bit when you turned it on. 2. In the hostel, AC was only on from around 8:30/9p-9a, so relaxing in the room during the day was difficult when it was super hot.

Maddy, Ashleigh and Bruno seamlessly ensure everyone is checked in and looked after throughout their stay. They are super friendly and good fun to be around. The place is beautifully designed and has a really serene atmosphere. Plus a pool to dip in when things get too caliente. Jimmy the owner is always at hand to offer advice, take you on day trips or get frustrated losing to you at risk. You can either chill or party, Mimosa has the perfect balance. I was sad to leave, but really happy to have met such wonderful people in the travellers and staff in what became my second home and family. See you soon x

Lunar the dog was too cute and kept stealing my chair

The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. Mimosa has a true family feel about it which is obviously influenced by the owner Jimmy. I felt welcomed by everyone the minute I stepped through the door which as a solo traveller is really important to me. I love that the bar stays open/closes depending on the needs of the guests and I spent many evenings chatting with Jimmy and his team as well as other guests round the bar, the cocktails are amazing too! The location for the town is perfect, set back one block from the main road, close enough to stroll into town for the night life but set back from the sound of the flowing traffic. This is not a party hostel, but offered a really nice social vibe in the evening which was the perfect balance for me. I met some great people here who I'm still in touch with. The premises is really well kept, I stayed in the dorm and a private room too, both of which were perfect - the little touches in the dorm make living out of a back pack so much easier (Thanks Jimmy!) If you're into wellness/yoga - try OM Collective which is a 3 minute walk away.

Nothing - I extended my stay by an additional four nights! I will be back!

The staff was amazing. Always helping us from arranging taxi to renting bicycles to go to cenotes and making great cocktails!! We first stayed in a Teepee room with beautiful decor. Sharing a bathroom was never a problem as it was clean. We booked three nights in the bigger room ensuite which was really divine. They played good music till late some nights did not bother us. Swimmingpool and area around as well as area upstairs was so good to enjoy breakfast and just chill. Walking distance to really nice local resraurants and street food. We also used collectivo to ruins, cenotes and beach, easy around the corner stand. Taxi to beach areas expensive. Much better to eat in pueblo downtown area.
