Moonshine Tulum Hotel & Hostel0

Everything was perfect for me : Moonshine is a perfect place to chill out with a beautiful pool on the rooftop, a commun kitchen. The hotel is very clean, the staff is very kind and always helpful. Close to the restaurants, shops, supermarket, yoga classes (Om Collectivo) it is easy to go everywhere by walk or transportation. I booked originally for 4 days and I stayed 25 days

I have been travelling for 2 months in Mexico and this hostel has been by far the best nights sleep. It is so quiet at night in the women’s dorm and the beds are so comfy, with curtains, a night light & a seperate fan making it super comfortable and private! Alex the manager is so lovely. He is always willing to help whenever he can and he takes pride in the hostel & the room is always clean. It’s also right next to Super Aki a massive supermarket so perfect for getting your groceries & not having to pay for a taxi to bring them back! Overall it’s a great bargain for downtown Tulum!

I loved everything about it! The only thing worth mentioning is the kitchen is 3 floors up… I only say this as I have chronic fatigue & maybe useful if anyone has knee issues etc but otherwise it’s great to get some exercise and the kitchen has a great view for sunset! 👌

Clean, wifi worked well, well equipped kitchen, a pool on the rooftop, hot shower with strong pressure, each bed with curtains, a fan, sockets and comfortable mattress. En-suite bathroom in the female dorm. AC was on from 9pm to next morning. Free drinking water. Close to supermarkets and quite near ADO terminal. Friendly staff - especially the girl at the reception, she gave useful information to help me travel on a budget! One hour walk to the free beaches like Playa Las Palmas, better do it in early morning (don’t take the route that is via Tulum ruins, they will charge 58 pesos just to enter the area of the national park).

Only four lockers for six beds. Quite a few mosquitoes in the room, they usually stayed by the sink or in the bathroom.

Hotel is modern and clean, Herzain on reception was very happy and helpful with local knowledge Roof-top terrace has an extra Wifi stream, a big kitchen and fridge for self cooking with plenty patio of chairs for lounging, eating and sunbathing in front of the wide swimming pool which closes late. . AC and bunkbed fans worked well, Free cold water fountain in reception and an in-house morning cafè to buy a decent morning coffee made with a real Cappuccino machine! Probably the quietest hostel in Tulum. The location is awesome, super close to Avenida Cobá (way to the beach) and right next to the main supermarkets as Aki and Chedraui. The roof swimming pool was also something else and the staff was really kind.

So far the swimming pool was not clean at all, the kitchen was not properly equipped and there was only one bathroom/shower in a 12-bed bunk room (beware of this). Another thing worth to mention is that you'll find yourself walking in dark streets on the near surroundings because of lack of electricity.

The hostel is very modern. Even the decoration makes you feel you are at a fancy hotel. They have a pool area and a Cafe where you can hang out or have breakfast.

The bathrooms. There is one in the dorm but it might not be enough. The first day I arrived it was messy and there's no place to place your toiletries. That's the only thing. Other than that, very good hostel.

Cool place, I had a great time staying here. It is a quiet place, no loud music, and it is quiet all day. Beds are comfortable with curtains. Hot shower. Kitchen is spacious and very convenient to cook. Pool is amazing! Alex and everyone who works here is great.

I would like a bit more privacy in the bathrooms, the glass door is not the best.

Nice hostel with a lot of space, comfortable bed, kitchen, waterpool and small gym. Great people working there. Good location

There is no internet in hostel, only in small area close to reception. Not good for travelers who don't have Mexican Sim card. I woud stay there longer if I have internet, but I should move because of it.

Staff was very friendly and helpful! Rooms were clean and beds comfy.

It was a bit weird that we weren't "allowed" to lock our room. I was sleeping at the girls dorm and the door made loud noises when we wanted to close it. For me it was okay, I still felt safe and had no problem with not locking it but still don't really understand the reason for it.

We caught a good offer and had a private room, which was really big and comfortable. The common area on the roof is great and the staff was really friendly. Alex, the manager, was also very helpful with tips for the area.

There is no real bathroom door in the private rooms just a tiny glass swing door and thus toilet and shower lack a bit of privacy.
