the setting of the hotel was beautiful, lots of jungle around and very spacious staff was nice

the food was not worth the price wifi didn’t work in the room back entrance to the Chichen itza is closed, so you have to go through the main entrance! there is no advantage of staying in a hotel so close by.

Gorgeous historic hacienda set in beautiful tropical gardens, surrounded by pools, fountains and birds. An exceptional location close to the ruins (although not accessible from the hotel any more.) Staff were friendly and efficient, if a little overwhelmed in the restaurant at times. Room staff made efforts to present an exceptional impression, gathering flowers from the garden to decorate the room very artistically. Beautiful pool setting and immaculate garden maintenance. A room safe and fridge was good. NO TVs was really good.

Their rule to charge US$50 for any drinks or food or snacks brought into the property was rather extreme. (But perhaps understandable in light of our experience in Uxmal, where a large French party brought their glass bottles of beer to the pool area and proceeded to throw one another around in and out of the pool and other guests were forced to leave.) The food was unexceptional for this calibre of hotel, so we ate at another hotel for the balance of our 3 day visit.

The location is stunning, very peaceful and private, we had the honeymoon suite which was spacious (as was the bathroom!). The grounds are stunning and there is a huge pool. The breakfast was very good and portions generous.

The direct entrance to the ruins is shut and the only way to get anywhere is an expensive taxi. The food is good but not on the cheap end, although in all honesty the view from the patio makes it worth it!

A spectacular property with a serene setting

Lack of wifi in rooms. We did not like having to pay restaurant charges every trip and inability to include restaurant charges into room bill and pay it all in one go. Cold coffee despite repeated attempts. . No coffee/tea facilities in the rooms for early risers. Due to jet lag, we were up at 2am everyday and it was pitch dark outside as all lights are shut in the gardens (to not wake birds and let the garden breathe, which we appreciated). It would have helped a great deal to have coffee facilities in the rooms. For the price of the rooms, a basic breakfast and at a minimum complimentary coffees and teas should be included.

Draconian rules about not bringing food and water into the rooms and hanging wet swimming costumes outside the room. The hotel promotes extremely eco-friendly credentials and yet serves water in plastic bottles, uses plastic straws, changes the towels every day and uses the STIHL petrol blowers to sweep the leaves off the paths. It’s such a stunning setting it’s a shame that it doesn’t follow through on some of its green marketing.

The hotel is set in beautiful, well kept grounds that felt a world away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist crowds of Chichen Itza. It was so peaceful and relaxing!

I would say that for the aspirations of the hotel to be something special that service could be a bit improved. While not bad, it often felt like service was bit lackluster and inattentive—which was in striking contrast to how beautifully kept the hotel and gardens are.

Great location, close to Chichen Itza, beautiful historical house and very nice garden.

Room is too simple, no wifi, no free bottle of water, no coffee maker, no safe in the room. Too many strange rules (50 USD fine if you bring any food or drink from outside...). Restaurant is overpriced.

The swimming pool is absolutely gorgeous and it emanates such a peaceful feeling that I didn't want to leave the water and the area. The gardens all around the property are gorgeous and one can see the decades of attention it has received from the owners. Congratulations! There are many types of birds to watch and hear during your stay. My spouse is a bird aficionado and this was paradise for him. The property has named its room areas with names of archeologists who were lodged here while unearthing Chichén Itzá. It was an interesting surprise to read more about their work in the area and its connection to the property. Very enlightening. The breakfast served in the property was delicious and service provided was world class. :-) Workers were extremely polite, knowledgeable about the area and its history and super professionals. We will definitely go back.

- There was no safe in the room. - One of the main reasons for us to choose this property was the connection access of the property grounds to Chichen Itza grounds. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, this access is now closed and we weren't aware of it before arriving. But it didn't take anything away from our experience. - No internet. When we arrived they had had a tempest a few hours earlier that had killed the internet. We understood and it didn't take anything away from our experience.

incredible and gorgeous property. Only stayed here a night as we wanted to go to Chichen Itza - and regretted not having time to stay longer simply to enjoy the amazing jungle like park around the villa with the amazing pool and excellent restaurant. We didn’t spend much time in the rooms, but they were also quite comfortable with AC and good showers.

There is a well which goes very deep (you do not see the bottom) and which needs to get covered to protect anyone from falling into it. My children were running ahead of me and reached it before me. One was jumping on the surrounding wall. If he had fallen into it, he minimum would have been badly injured.
