Hotel La Nacional By Kavia

The location is excellent- right in the middle of everything. The is building probably more than 100 years old, but everything has been refurbished. The high ceilings, large windows, and the overall size of the room were very nice. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Though we were on the third floor and we could hear the live music from a restaurant below, the band stopped playing about 10:30 p.m. I wish we could have stayed more than one night. I highly recommend it.

This may not apply to all travelers, but we arrived by car during evening rush hour, so we needed to unload our baggage quickly at the front door with our hazard lights on. We received help from the porter and then he rode with me to the hotel's safe (and free) overnight parking lot, which is three blocks down the same street. Nothing about that unloading and parking experience was bad, but I do think you might want to mentally prepared for it if you, too, are arriving in a vehicle.

Great location, right in the centre of Merida. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The handle of our bathroom came a bit lose our first night, the owner made sure it was fixed the next day. We requested a quiet room and they made sure we were given one. The service in this hotel is excellent, I can very much recommend.

There was no ventilation in the bathroom and the windows couldn’t be opened so the room smelled a bit after 2days. We could only vent the room by leaving the door open for a while while we were in the room which is not ideal. Would be something to improve upon.

The location was as central as it gets with tons of food and shopping options around. Staff were helpful at check-in and took us to a secure parking spot where we kept our car without issue (you need to put a MXN$200 deposit for parking). The facilities were nice and clean and housekeeping came around daily. Very well priced compared to other properties in the area.

Inner coutyard outside our room was very noisy due to other guests so it was hard to sleep past 8am. Bathroom sink was tiny and amenities were just the bare minimum. Beds were small and a bit uncomfortable for 2 people to share.

The location is right in the historic central district and is close to restaurants and tourist activities. The hotel is nice and the staff were really helpful and welcoming. our room was very updated and quite modern, but it was a corner room without a window. That ended up being great for sleeping because it was super dark and quiet. The bed was very comfortable. The free parking was about 4 blocks away and very safe.

The room was at the top of the stairs, crossing an exposed small walkway, with a railing only on one side. it might not be suitable for elderly or those with small children. The bathroom was at a different level than the with at leash a 12-18 inch step up. it was difficult to step up into for my husband with bad knees. The shower, though nicely remodeled, was sloping the wrong way so that the water pooled, and the spray went outside the shower soaking the floor.

Historical Buildings, we had a room facing square. Clean and mostly well taken care of. Perfect Air Conditioning. Nice beds. Beautiful view from windows. inner patio and a small pool area. Hot water (showers). Hood WiFi. Quick response to messages.

It is city center and of course it is loud (pack your ear plugs), but the view and location ate worth it. The shower cap needs care, water goes in all directions, but compared to other hotels in Mexico, water pressure is hood and hot water is hot water, not just a little warm.

Wonderful location, right near the center of everything! On Thursday-Saturday calls 60 closes down to cars and restaurants go in the street. Our windows were right above Calle 60, we could hear the music, it was great. It closes down around midnight, so not too noises too late. Loved the pool. Loved the style of take place. Great pressure! Loved the bellhop, Juan. Comfortable beds. We stayed in a upgraded room and I completely recommend that.

Spotty WiFi. Difficult to park and unpack with a car. The check in took like 45 minutes. The elevator was broken, and the rooms are up 2 or 3 flights of stairs.

Comfortable bed, good air condition, nice bathroom, super spacious room, central location close to restaurants and old town center.

We asked for a quiet room and on check-in I asked, if the room was quiet. They confirmed and said, it would be quiet - but not. Absoloutely no. The windows offered zero noise cancelling, you thought you was sleeping with your bed on the sidewalk.

Beautiful hotel and very very good location. Staff were great, especially Juan who was particularly helpful!

The rooms are very noisy if you have a room with a street view. Not a big deal but we were told that they didn’t have a water refill station (given plastic bottles everyday though) so wasted more plastic than we would have liked. However the day we left there did seem to be somewhere that we could refill bottles. Not sure if this was just a slight miscommunication or was a new thing they introduced whilst we were there.

parking is pretty far. Some staff don’t speak English at all. A bellboy who supposed to take us to parking spot did not speak any English. it was very difficult to communicate with him. When we finally got to the parking , it started pouring. We had to wait until the rains stopped and walked few blocks back to the hotel. He did not offer any help carrying our luggages at all. The street was flooded. Even when we got to the hotel, he didn’t even help bring the luggage to the room. We still tip him because we felt bad that he stuck in the parking lot with us. I would suggest the hotel to give map to the guests for parking instead of having someone come with them.

Great location and view in the heart of Mérida. Staff was friendly and helpful, The room was spacious and clean, and the building had a nice vibe. Big plus the parking nearby (few blocks away) made available by the hotel for free.

Not really a minus, but as the hotel is really in the city centre, traffic during the day and music at night means it can be quite noisy. Not a minus, but something to take into account if staying in city centre.
