Best Western Alpine Hotel

Close to Riccarton racecourse where the event was being held, we were attending. Rooms were spacious and very quiet even though on a busy road. Safe off-street parking in a locked building so we and our friends didn't have to worry about our hot rods on the street. Friendly staff. Within walking distance to plenty of food options. Rooms are quite and you can't hear your neighbours in next room.

Ally way into car park was back of restaurants so was filled with rubbish bins and looked messy. this was the only thing and understandable.

The location is practical. I think it is between the City center and airport. It is near the supermarket, good food shops, pharmacy and restaurants. The hotel is clean and quiet in general. The room provides everything you need from cutleries to iron and hair dryer. Parking garage is tight but manageable. Not all small hotels provide secured parking space. I needed to do some work at one point and was able to use their computer provided which was in the hallway. Overall, excellent accommodation.

It was very quiet, clean, good shower! Bed was very comfortable too. Read the instructions sent pre-stay as it is difficult to find without them. Secure parking in locked garage. All necessary amenities in the room - microwave, fridge, tv etc. Reception staff were kind too.

The clock alarm went off at 1am, few times as we didn't know how to stop it. If we didn't fall asleep so early (6pm ish) we would have been very grumpy about that, but ended up checking out around 2am to drive home, so all good.

Location was great, next to takeaways, shops, chemist and local supermarket. Safe, locked up underground parking. We had a funeral at 1pm and they let us checkout at Midday. Friendly staff at checkout and when meeting up in hallway. Has elevator which was handy for our seniors. Room comfy, warm and Netflix inbuilt in TV. Wifi great!

Only downside was heat-pump outdoor fans humming away all night, situated on roof area above room. Not too pleasant for light sleepers. Not that loud but can be heard if you're fussy.

Availability of free parking. Convenient location relative to university and suburban shopping. Good size room. Well maintained and clean. Good services and facilities. Small balcony area was nice touch even though it doesn't have a view - room feels larger and can perch outside if desired. Friendly, helpful staff on reception. Two desks useful

Awkward entry (my fault, should have read instructions better). Tight carparking but far from the most difficult I've experienced.

The staff members we met were efficient and helpful, especially the man on reception. The hotel is near some very good shops, including a couple of supermarkets. There is a bus stop nearby.

The bathroom could have done with a couple of hangers for towels. The room had a sliding door so obviously not a place for towel hooks but it would have been helpful if there was somewhere to hang them. Other than that, everything was okay.

For us, the location worked well. We missed a flight and had to stay in chch. Next door is a late-night medical center, within walking distance is Countdown and lots of Asian restaurants. A local recommended Daphne's and it was fantastic!

The reception was a surprise. Looks like a 2-star place. But the staff were amazing and once in the room, everything was 10/10. Had an iron, a hairdryer, etc.

Clean and comfortable room, comfortable bed, nice bathroom, simple kitchenette enough for making cereal and coffee in the morning. Very close to the shops.

Very tight parking garage, with the entrance hidden down a smelly alleyway lined with the rubbish bins of a few nearby restaurants. Slow check-in (they wanted a copy of our ID, extra contact information etc. which is a bit weird, all required information should be provided by Booking.com).

Location seems a bit dodgy just when entering the carpark below and not a lot of room.

The narrow entrance to carpark and smashed windows on surrounding businesss and graffiti made it feel like a dodgy neighborhood, Other than that it was lovely.

Clean tidy room.

Bit difficult to find entrance. Pedestrian entrance off Yaldhurst Rd, but vehicle entrance off Brake St, but little signage to tell you this. Including this info on the booking info and on the website page would be helpful. I was fortunate someone was driving out as I arrived, so I got in thru the security roller door with no problems. Having to try and rouse a staff member when you're checking in late at night is annoying.
