Tower Junction Motor Lodge

Perfect for a short stop before getting the train. The motel was clean. Comfortable bed and good shower pressure. The owner was super accommodating, I emailed about early check in and she sorted us out. She also gave us a lift in the morning to the train station. Really happy with the value for money. Short walk in to town; if you were coming home in the dark you would probs take a cab as you walk through the park.

My only comment would be that the carpet in the room was quite stained. The carpet was perfectly clean (just marked) and the overall cleanliness of the property was really high, however the first impression from the carpet does not match with the actual cleanliness of the room.

Everything!!! Phyllis was very helpful and accommodating. I had arrived early and she told me where I could hang around while she got the room ready for early check-in. The room was spacious and cozy. Had a kitchenette with stove and microwave oven. Bathroom had separate shower area. Overall, it felt like home with the warm lighting and all. The Tranzalpine train station and botanical gardens are within walking distance. Phyllis even drove me to the station which I am most grateful for. Would definitely come back if I visit South island again

If I had to name something then, l would say perhaps plug points could be upgraded to having USB connectivity and water pressure at the bathroom could be better

Excellent location between Christchurch Airport and Christchurch center to discover the city and its surroundings. The manager Prince and his team really made us feel at home with their excellent professional services provided, cleanliness of the spacious rooms, pick-up + drop-off as promised offered by Prince as well as transport to the airport. The facilities of the room were flawless. Everything amazing :-) Thanks a lot and we promise to come back to TOWER JUNCTION MOTOR LODGE when again in New Zealand!

Phyllis (the owner) was very helpful and accommodating. The room was compact but had everything we required. Had a kitchenette with stove and microwave oven. One of the standout features was the motel's location The Tranzalpine train station is close by. Phyllis even drove us to the station which we are most grateful for. We also appreciated the affordability of the room, which provided excellent value for the quality of accommodation we received. Despite being on a busy road, we could not hear the traffic. The room is warm and we did not need to use the heater. In short, the room was clean and cozy, the staff was friendly, and the location was perfect. Great value for money. Highly recommend!

Not a complaint at all, but the carpark is tight. Something to be aware of if you have a larger car.

Rooms nice, location ok

There were 3 of us booked in one room. couple on bed, in bedroom . single on pull out couch, which was uncomfortable squeaky, not what we expected, lights outside bedroom windows shine bright through blinds at night, hard to sleep lights are shining in strong by bed. Tv didn't go in bedroom. An the 3rd person had to come into bedroom to get to bathroom.

Very good drop off at station for transalpine train in the morning. This is a free service from this property. Room and facilities all excellent and comfortable. Nearby shops and eateries in walking distance but no grocery shops.

Quite a way out of town but we like walking so walked through Hagley Park. May be easy on transport but we walked in so didn’t look at this. We knew when we booked we were away from town so not an issue for us. No nearby shop/supermarket for groceries to walk to so be prepared.

Prince, the one who run the hotel, is truly amazing!! We stayed there on the 25th of December and due to public holidays everything in Christchurch was closed. We asked him whether he knows a place that was opened to eat something and he offered us to drive us around to try to find something. We found an Indian restaurant and even got a drink together there, while waiting for the food to be prepared. On top of that the accommodation was really comfortable and had all the facilities needed. Thanks a lot!

The apartment was bigger than expected.

No aircon, which I knew already and had discounted because of the time of year. But also no ceiling fan, and the one window in the bedroom was restricted to opening only a few inches/ cm. It was an uncomfortably warm night, even with the balcony door open all night (which is in the lounge, no direct airflow to the bedroom.) There was a plug-in fan on a stand, which made sleeping possible. I found it in a cupboard, so go hunting. This was after a cloudy day in the low 20c's.

Many thanks to Prince + his entire TOWER JUNCTION MOTOR LODGE team for making us feel really at home for our 1st night at Christchurch. Everything in our room was clean, appropriate, more than sufficient, beautifully organized + located & great sleeping beds :-) We look forward to our next overnight at your hotel tonight at Christchurch, 12th-13th January 2024! The location of the property was very good. It was near the main highways and walkable to the centre. The room was spacious and had a very good kitchen. It was lovely to have a gas hob. The heating in the room was very good and the linen and towels were very clean.

The carpet in the room was very grimy so definitely not a place to walk barefoot. The flush buttons for the toilet were stuck down with cellotape because they were broken. They worked but you had to be careful flushing. The bathroom basin tended to not drain.
