Vita Nova Motel

Clean and cozy. Wonderful owner, very nice!

I booked a two bedroom, one bath apartment for three of us. The picture shown included upstairs bedroom loft, bed downstairs apart from living area, large bathroom! When we walked in, the size was REALLY small! Too small for three of us. When I spoke to the owner about it, she said I booked the “compact” unit😲 She would have moved us but there was no availability for the regular “apartment”. She was very kind and wanted to help us out but she was booked. If you book here, make sure you book the right room. There is an apartment, a compact unit, and a regular one bed room.

Just want to thank the lovely family who manage the Vita Nova Motel for a great stay. We landed at midnight and we were able to arrange a late checkin. The unit was really clean, bed was so comfortable, Netflix to chill out at night, had all the necessary amenities and great service. Daily house keeping was excellent, she was thorough and showed great attention to detail. Laundry facilities were useful. Location was great, central to everything. Would definitely stay again. Thanks again.

I have stayed here on frequently since 2013. The owners are very nice and helpful also. Nothing is too much for them. I love the 1 bedroom which has the lounge downstairs with a smart TV. There is a stove top and a microwave. A small balcony. Also I walk to 2 shopping centres. Bush Mall, and Westfield Riccarton, which is huge with a massive supermarket called Pak and Save. There are lots of restaurants in the area. The bus that goes to the CBD is just a short walk from the motel. All in all I love it.

The only thing is the bedroom upstairs needs a ceiling fan or aircon. The aircon downstairs doesn't reach when it's warm.

Loved the split level when you walked in and how the bedroom was separate from the rest of the suite. It was very clean and welcoming and mostly comfy - The comforter was like a cloud.

The pillows were a harder memory foam and made it quite uncomfortable for us - It helped us realise we didn't like them though so saved us money in the future! Sitting area was a wee bit uncomfortable too with the 2 smaller armchairs. A small couch would've felt a bit more cosy to watch TV in downtimes. I would stay here again though, I'd just pack my own pillows :)

Ground floor unit with parking outside. Comfortable bed. Good shower pressure although small cubicle. Good sized bathroom. Nice patio outside although hotels around with 2 storeys can see in. On main bus route with bustop nearby. Walking distance to supermarket and small mall area. 10 min drive to cbd and hospital.

Windows were left open after servicing which compromised security of our possessions left inside. The bathroom window could easily be accessed. We left a note to close windows which was done that day but the next day the windows were left open again. Quite disappointing.

Location good close to University of Canterbury and Bush Inn center. 1 bedroom apartment: The room is clean and comfortable; good having the bedroom on the upper floor. Kitchen facilities are OK.

Bathroom and shower is small, and upstairs bedroom doesn't have much room around the bed. Unfortunately no Sky TV (we missed a sports game) and TV was really quiet it wouldn't turn volume up. Staff friendly they provided some clean towels and also a coffee plunger which was really appreciated.

Very friendly, helpful staff and receptive to our needs when we decided to extend our stay (which required moving to another room) and have a slightly later checkout. Both rooms we stayed in were very comfortable, warm and exceptionally clean. Great value for money. Would stay again.

A little bit of road noise, particularly in room closer to the front of the motel, but to be expected at this main road location.

Perfect location for us dropping son to Uni. Had a corner suite so nice and quiet, away from road. Beds very comfy, it was nice and clean and spacious 2 bedroom unit.

Very small sofa considering 2 bedroom unit, hanging space in wardrobe only half length, fridge very small - couldn’t stand bottle of milk up in it.

everything was perfect just the right size with everything you might need and Jason and his wife were incredibly helpful with everything, they were great communicators throughout in a great location with bus stops into the city close by there’s also a Chinese takeaway in walkable distance Quake City is definitely worth a visit

Good location in Riccarton, close to the University. Clean & comfortable; apartment with upstairs mezzanine was spacious and good to have the separate living area. Bathroom a bit small but adequate.

No on-site person, so it was a 'let yourself in' and slight mishap with room allocation vs person next door! Easily sorted; however they said it was due to covid when it is more likely just staff shortages.
