Lake Dunstan Motel

A most welcoming motel. Check in was a pleasure. The room was very spacious, with a patio door at the rear overlooking the golf course and the hills behind. A bench to sit on plus a picnic table allowed us to sit out to enjoy the evening sun and to watch the golfers. We walked to the water front and old town area - a 20 minute walk. The new town centre, including supermarket was 5 minutes away. The room was well equipped, and had aircon. I have scored as 9 as some of the decor is showing its age. I understand that the owners are new, and feel confident that given their enthusiasm, they will spruce up the rooms when necessary over the coming months. I’d certainly pick here again, and would recommend to others

Nothing. We are around half way through a 6 week tour of NZ, and this motel is one of the best so far.

We just booked on the day and arrived later in the evening. The room was ready for us with the heater going. This was a nice surprise and made my life with two kids a lot easier. Everything that you need was there, great little kitchen with cooking facilities, pots, cutlery, bowls, cups, toaster, microwave etc., lots of different teas, coffee, hot chocolate.. It was a great space with a queen bed and a single bed but also a little table and some comfy chairs. Everything was clean and well thought of. The staff was super friendly and the place had a great vibe. We would definitely stay again. Thank you

Room was adequate for 3 of us. Close walk into the town centre. Host was helpful with local knowledge.

Hot water is affected by other units running their taps. Each of us had to jump out of the shower on more than one occasion when someone in another unit turned on their cold water, resulting in our shower hot water being suddenly far too hot. Also, we had no hot water one evening for a few hours - could only have been due to other units using all the available hot water. Would have liked to have a heated towel rail in bathroom.

The owner could not have been more accommodating. We were able to access the room early, store our bikes securely, and leave our bags after check out. As we left our vehicle in Clyde and cycled to the motel via the Lake Dunstan Trail (highly recommended) it made the trip so much easier! The room was clean, spacious, comfortable and quiet, with views out over the golf course and only a very short walk to shops/cafes etc. Great shower too. We loved the area and would definitely stay again.

Really nice, helpful staff. Were happy to arrange check in to accommodate going to a wedding. The room had a big bed and nice outlook over the golf course.

Bathroom a bit outdated but nothing major. Price was relatively high for the room, but we did book quite late for our stay and it seemed standard for what was available.

Long way from the lake Cannot turn the TV to watch it from the single bed. Single bed had a sag in the middle and was placed with the head end next to the noisy fridge A LOT of money for the average person to pay for a motel stay with no visual appeal

The interesting sights on the golf course from the room. Kept us entertained. Didn't realize in a small town how many people played golf. I quite like watching the hackers.Room lovely.

Air conditioning unit in the wrong place in relation to the bed.

Lovely outlook to the golf course with outdoor seating. Lots of room and good safe parking for our motorcycles. Great bed and lots of milk for our teas and coffees. We appreciated the earl grey and english breakfast teas as well.

Cromwell accommodation is quite expensive so this property is just following suit.

Our pleasant room opened up at the back to overlook the golf course was very peaceful which included the motel gardens as well. Very nice. It was close to the shopping centre and easy access to the Dunstan bike trail . The trail to Smiths way ( north ) was a pleasant interesting ride while the main part from the Heritage area to Clyde was nothing short of brilliant and a must do for anyone that rides a bike and a reason why those that can't should learn too.

Excellent location. Quiet and off road parking.

Shower head too high for elderly husband. When it came down, the bathroom and kitchen got flooded. Cleaning staff did not have a squeegee mop for me to clean up the water. Had to use rags and towels. I suggest bucket and mop available for such mishaps.
