Anderson Park Motel

Easy to find , in a quiet area of town. We came for a night to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and along with a fine meal at the Moorings , we will have fond memories of our stay.

Only one small thing not a criticism but a suggestion….when the room is prepared and milk is put in the refrigerator don’t set the refrigerator on Zero …not in temperatures close to 30 degrees. It should be set on 3 or 4 ….when guests arrive seldom do they check on the refrigerator settings , they assume the motel has done it right.

Restful little place to stay. Close to Queenstown but not Queenstown prices. The staff were friendly. The motel was walking distance to shops and supplies. Also lovely surprises in Cromwell like the Old District and Lake Dunstan. I could have stayed and stayed and explored more if I didn't need to go home.

The unit wasn't attracting the sun to come in much when I was there. But lots of windows and a good view. Hey you can't pick a whole building up and turn it around for the sun. All good!

Anderson Park is a local that is part of Cromwell, a minute from the Town shopping Centre by car. The Anderson Park Motel is unique in the fact that the accommodation is all Bungalow type with parking right at the door of your cabin. Surrounded by open lawn/garden spaces & with a scenic mountain back drop The Anderson Park Motel gives off an ambience of being in natural surroundings although you are in a medium sized country town. We stayed here because of the Cromwell Cup Horse Racing Carnival & the racecourse is just a few minutes away by car. The Cromwell shopping Centre has all types of shops i.e Supermarket, bakery, pub, fashion shops for women, newsagency etc You can get all the supplies you need for your cabin, The cabin type accommodation allows you privacy & if you can excuse the pun, allows you to "Run Your Own Race".

we had a studio unit which had a two seater lounge as well as a table and chairs. We chose not to cook - but a portable stove (two burner) was provided. Shower was very good. Bed was comfy. Parking was easy straight outside the unit. A heater was provided which warmed up the unit well. The owners also provide a complimentary laundry (washing machine and dryer) for use by all the units, which is a welcome bonus. The unit is located away from the main shopping area which was fine with us, but it was an easy 5 minute drive to the shops. There is a takeaway food bar across the road if needed.

Nothing for us to dislike.

The location was incredibly and the staff were amazing! The kids also really enjoyed the little playground though we needed to watch the little ones because it was meant for older kids (hih gaps for them to climb through etc)

The facilities were very old and outdated and the quite cramped for the 4 of us. The sliding door also opened towards the main road which was a worry with 2 little ones.

1.THE FREE USE OF WASHING MACHINE AND DRYER IS GREAT. LAUNDRY POWDER PROVIDED FREE. 2.CLEANING OF ROOM DONE DAILY, TOWELS CHANGED DAILY.

1. CAN'T COOK SPICY FOODS. THERE'S A NOTICE WHICH SPECIFIES THIS. A RANGE HOOD SHOULD BE INSTALLED ON A DESIGNATED ROOM(S) AND A NOTE ADDED WHEN BOOKING TO THOSE WHO WISH TO COOK TO SPECIFY AT TIME OF BOOKING. THEN OWNER CAN PUT THAT GUEST IN THAT ROOM. 2. PUT EXTRA TOILET PAPER IN THE CUPBOARD

We made our own breakfast. We loved how our two adjoining family rooms were so close and handy to move between via the outdoor sliding doors. We loved the fabulous weather. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful.

Limited cooking facilities but Cromwell now has some cool eating out places. The mexican restaurant was the best mexican I've ever tasted!

Great stay, very clean, warm, comfortable, and great for my family. The main queen bed had an electric blanket I think, and they provided an extra oil heater which was much appreciated as it snowed a bit that day and night. The lady at reception was very kind, welcoming, and helpful. Very lovely area, with great amenities and a cute playground for the children. Would recommend! Thank you for the stay.

I've been struggling to decide whether to mention this or not, but at the booking stage, our general questions that we sent through booking.com to the motel were asked in a friendly manner with please and thank yous, but we received answers that were rude. As travelers, it shocked us and we didn't know if we should give this place a chance - I'm glad we did in the end. Thankfully when we arrived, the lady who tended to our arrival was very welcoming and friendly, and we had a comfortable stay, which quelled our uncertainty a bit. I hope that the person who responded to our queries will in the future treat others with kindness.

A good, reasonable price for an accommodation to stay while in Cromwell, close to shops, quiet rooms, has basic kitchen items you can use, it doesn’t have exhaust or fan in the kitchen so cooking light is recommended. Towels are change daily, rubbish bins clean.

The glass wall/sliding door condensates heavily in the morning, hence recommended to move the sheer curtain and open the door slightly to dry it out.

- location was convenient: less than 10 mins walk to the restaurants and supermarkets - check-in was good and the staff was responsive and accommodative of our early check-in request - facilities like free laundry was helpful!

- the bedroom should have had a distinction from the kitchen, it was all in the same space making it a little congested
