Golfcourse Road Chalets and Lodge

Golf Course Road Chalets was like a home away from home. Our room was spacious, warm, clean, comfortable and with a million dollar view overlooking the golf course, lake and mountains. The spa bath was oppulent! Shona and Sandra were superb hosts and couldn't be more welcoming, accommodating and helpful - from tips on where to ski, to eat, to helping us get our car up and running when our battery went dead. We enjoyed a lovely continental breakfast each morning in a warm living area with no pressure to up and out by any time. It was a truly magical experience for us, would recommend the Chalets to anyone who wants quality accommodation during their break away and with breakfast taken care of. We look forward to our next trip back next year.

- Location: out of busy town centre, 10 min walk through the golf course or a 5min drive, if you want to get there - Modern design, split level, one bedroom chalet with kitchenette, bathroom and lounge/dining room located on the ground floor and the bedroom up the stairs - Reasonably equipped kitchenette - Front loading washing machine - Clean bathroom, with enough storage space and free toiletries provided - Chalets are serviced daily, towels replaced and tea/coffee replenished - Free WiFi - Friendly hosts

- bathroom and toilet are located on the ground floor and the stairs are a little slippery - reception on the TV was quite terrible and channels were limited - no electric blankets on the bed and only one small heater d/stairs

Lovely spacious chalet with peaceful outlook over fields and snow capped ranges. Staff super friendly and helpful. Comfy bed. Serviced daily which was lovely, raced off some mornings to get to Cardrona skifields early, leaving our breakfast dishes and came back at the end of the day to find the dishes had been washed, bed made, fresh towels etc which was a treat. Washing machine was handy for our 9 night stay. Great hot shower with excellent pressure. Overall, we had a great stay and will return.

The one wall heater took a while to get the room warm on the cold winter days and evenings. Then the heat rose and overheated the mezzanine bedroom which stayed a bit hot overnight while the living space below remained a bit cool. Instructions for the washing machine and cooktop would have been helpful. I wasn't sure where to put the washing powder and it took a while to realise there were switches on wall for washing machine and cooktop that needed turned on before they'd work. Light switch for outside light was hard to find as behind a curtain. A sensor light at door of chalet would have been helpful. Seating in living room a bit uncomfortable. But these are all small picky things that didn't really affect our enjoyment of our stay

The location was real nice, not on a main road but close to main city area. The entire place is really big with bedroom upstairs and living room + kitchen downstairs. The unit we stayed in lets in a ton of natural light with our parking space really close to the unit. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and was perfect for our stay in Wanaka.

The unit we stayed in was a front facing unit to the parking area so there wasn't a ton of privacy with other guests walking on the pathway right in front of our unit. There are curtains but a shame to have to use them for a place that lets in so much natural light.

The property was beautiful, clean, modern and had everything you need. It was a short drive away from town and easy drive to ski fields. On arriving the heating was on for me and the chalet was toasty warm and stayed that way the whole week. Shower was fantastic and great water pressure for soothing those aches from skiing all day. The huge king size bed was soft and so very comfortable. Can recommend the bed for comfort and a good nights sleep. The bed is upstairs, but I liked that, it let me work out and stretch my legs after a hard day on the slopes. You can also see the mountains from the bed thru the windows upstairs. Great easy parking. The whole unit is very safety conscious with smoke alarms and sprinkler system. They had great communication, very quick to respond when I let them know I was running late due to a delayed flight.

My only suggestion would be to have a folder detailing the use of appliances. I eventually worked out there is a switch on the opposite wall to flick ( presumably a safety override) so that the bench top stove works and the washing machine.

the owner was excellent to deal with and very helpful, the location was brilliant, there were wonderful views around the property, a super comfortable bed, a superb shower, exceptionally well designed and built buildings. As an added bonus the property also had ducks and rabbits and birds of various species wandering around on the lawn which lended the feeling of being out in the country.

Only a couple of minor things that could have been improved. There were no 'Sky TV' sports channels and the couch was vinyl which tended to make you slide off the couch. Everything else was impeccable.

Unfortunately the road works made it a little hard to find the property but once there it was fine. The staff were all very friendly and helpful (two ladies) and it is a great location for #thatwanakatree and the amenities in the town. There are plenty of restaurants and bars within a short drive. The window seat in our room was perfect and I liked the bathroom so much I’ve taken photos for ideas when I redo mine in the UK

Sadly the property & people cannot do anything about the roadworks & increased traffic along their road as a result

The chalets are large warm and comfortable set on a rural block opposite the golf course. No real views of the lake but a very beautiful country view of golden poplar trees (early May)The gardens and fields around the units add to the rural feel. It has a well fitted out kitchen and large well heated bathroom though this is on a lower floor than the bedroom. The town was a relatively short drive away and about a 2 km walk but the return is uphill. We liked it and would stay there again.

We did not walk into town due to the uphill walk back. The bedroom would probably be too hot in Summer but there is an overhead fan but noisy but really warm in cold weather. Overall not much to complain about.

everything about this location was fantastic, and the views from upstairs were wonderful. The accomodation was very spacious and well thought out. The bed felt huge and was super comfortable. On top of everything the service was fantastic, very friendly.

The only think I will say is that not all of the bathrooms are very private - the frosting on the windows does not do enough when you walk past at nightime. This could be easily remedied and I hope they do before our next visit.

Beautiful chalet set opposite the golf course. Check in was very friendly and casual. The property was very comfortable and spacious. View from our room was amazing. There is a kitchenette (no oven, but has a rice cooker). You do need a car of taxi/uber to get into town as there is no restaurant near by. Everything was great. Will definitely stay there again.

The only negative was the hot water shower was a little temperamental, not sure if that's a permanent issue.
