Nice big spacious room and very comfortable beds. Good lighting, privacy, bathroom and kitchen facilities. Right next to a convenience store and just around the corner from a nice cafe and the university and a short walk to Forsyth Barr stadium. I also walked home from the Octagon after a few drinks so great location overall.

Had a small incident with the hot water cylinder failing but the owner as quick as a flash moved me into another room and no harm done. Handled very well I think. Decor is quite dated but that kinda added to the charm.

Clean room, bath tub a bit worn out, beds were comfortable, total stay in room is great. Housekeeping servicing room everyday which is a bonus. Downfall would be the use of laundry, as we couldn't do laundry in the morning,bonus, free use of laundry. Otherwise, i'd come back and stay here for future stays. Very central to the University, shop right across the road. Eatery down the corner, what more can you ask for.

If laundry hours could be in the morning would be great.

It was roomy, warm, clean and comfortable, even if a little older in the styling. Perfect for a larger family and offering good value for money. Heaps of power outlets. Servicing of the room was good, replenishing the used condiments etc. The 24-hour Night&Day convenience store over the road was very handy! Didn’t find too big an issue with water pressure as others had mentioned - we were in the middle level (one storey up).

Just a few little very minor things like no lock on the bathroom, the dodgily-designed stairs to the attic room weren’t exactly high on safety, and my sons bedding on the spare (lounge) bed were just smaller blankets that kept falling off during the night. This bed was also on wheels so when he tried sitting up in it, it would roll away from the wall. A dish-rack would have been good - on check out we were told we were apparently supposed to get an extra tea-towel. (That way we’d have one to put wet dishes on and one to dry with). We tried to cook pancakes but there wasn’t a suitable pan. All just minor things but nothing that ruined our stay by any means. We’d happily stay here again, and would recommend for others.

Nice spacious room, great location, quiet even though on a busy road. Older style accommodation with saloon doors between kitchen and lounger, with archways. Friendly staff, well stocked tea and coffees. Great value for money. Would definitely stay there again. Short walk to the stadium and the Octagon. Off street parking on site.

Tv was quite small and up high. Shower over bath, tricky for little old ladies!

Comfortable, clean, spacious room. Good location. Nice staff. Strong WiFi. Fast internet.

Old-fashioned separate hot and cold water faucets in the sink basin meant the water was either too cold or scalding hot -- it took a while to get used to mixing them. Breakfast was delivered the evening before but the bread and the milk were not in sealed containers to keep them fresh overnight. Parking lot filled up quickly but there was nearby street parking available.

Very spacious Family Apartment. Well equipped kitchen with windows. Beds were ok. Hotel is very close to the city centre, everything in walking distace, restaurants, cafes, museum etc. Very nice owner. You can park a car there as well.

In the bathroom there was no electrical contact for hairdryer, just special for electric shaver, so if you want wake up early in the morning and wash your hair you will have to woke up everybody when you will be using hairdryer in the room :( No other issues besides that.

We travelled due to our brother being transferred to Dunedin hospital. We came from Northland, Auckland and Palmerston North so flights in were delayed and late arriving our hosts were amazing working around us!! The rooms were beautiful and clean!! They also let us check out late at no charge we were so tired! Thank you so much everyone I talked to I told them about your hospitality!!

That we couldn’t stay longer! Under better circumstances!

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed was very comfy. The location was only a few minutes to drive to the Centre of town. We had a look at the steepest street in the world, the Baldwin Street. Amazing. We drove to the Albatross Centre on the Peninsula. It was very very windy and cold, bald interesting. We had a great time.

Everything was fine, nothing to complain.

The family room is an excellent size! The mezzanine floor is perfect for teenagers as it gives both them & adults in their own room, their own space.

It’s rather dated. There were no hooks to hang anything on. There was 1 towel rail, & 1 hook in the bathroom, which is way too little for a family with a bunch of wet towels to hang!

Great place to stay, perfect for a night away and close to good cafes and easy walk into town, would be a great place to stay if you were involved with University of Otago. Lots of parking and the staff were so friendly and helpful, went above and beyond.

We were in downstairs apartment and upstairs had some noisy people but not too bad to ruin our stay
