Carisbrook Motel

Super apartment in a quiet part of South Dunedin. Easy to get from here to anywhere in town/on the peninsula by car. Loads of room, great cooking facilities, really comfy beds, good shower, everything super clean and tidy. We loved our 3 night stay at Carisbrook Motel, and felt we could come and go from early morning to late at night without disturbing anyone. The apartment is routinely cleaned and towels/kitchen cloths are replaced on a daily basis, so make sure you let Mike & Ros know if you don't need this service! Excellent value for money.

Please could you add wooden spoons and spatulas to the kitchen utensils?!

The staff were excellent, and the room, while a little tired-looking, was perfectly fine. The price was competitive, and there was good information in the room regarding surrounding businesses.

The only issue was that we had to leave early in the morning, and the outside staircase down to the car was dark. This made it a little tricky to get my eighty five year old father down. In hindsight, i should have brought the car up to street level instead. But overall, it was an excellent stay.

Good facilities in the unit, on line it said microwave but I was very surprised to find the unit I was giving had a full kitchen and seperate bedroom.

Parking was off site and on a Main Street. When booking I was asked if I wanted off street parking on Motel site to which I said yes.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Also in the southern side of the city which makes it an easy drive to the airport. the layout was very nice, we had a 2 bedroom unit and the floor plan made it easy to move around in the apartment without getting in the way of other people. For example, the bathroom and kitchen were not on top of each other which you often see in motels.

The facilities were a little old, but maintained properly. Often there was no one ar reception and had to ring the bell and wait for the manager or his wife to come over from their apartment.

We were very happy with our stay thank you! :o) We just have a couple of comments: We did need to use the extra blanket provided in the wardrobe, which was ok for May, but as the winter weather advances a little more, it would be good to have one more extra warm blanket if required. We are sure that in mid winter, guests would surely like one more available to be warm enough. The other thing we think would really add to the safety, is some form of lighting in the outside staircase leading to the units. It was very dark & we needed to use our phone light to negotiate those steps safely. Many thanks :o)

warm welcome from staff, we even did our laundry free of charge, everything we need were there, comfortable beds, has own full kitchen. I would have booked 2 more nights in this lovely motel.

staying for only a night. we stayed the other night at another airbnb in port chalmers for the same price and it was a nightmare.

The price, for a perfectly functional and comfortable stay. Was especially happy thinking we were all in one room to find the kids had the lounge we had a room. It might not be the flashest but it was warm, comfy and affordable.

Spotlessly clean with comfortable bed and armchairs, and the manager is pleasant and friendly.

Very tight parking space, and some road noise. The bedroom was on the quiet side of the unit though, so it was OK.

Easy location outside the city center and located in a quiet area of the city, while still close to main attractions in Dunedin. Lots of parking and very well equipped apartment. Friendly reception staff as well. Would book again.
