Motel on Carroll

Brian - the motel host was always pleasant and approachable and very helpful.

Although there is off-street covered parking, spaces are limited and not sufficient if all guests have a vehicle and are not allocated so they are on a first in basis (possibly should charge a little extra and allocate parks, or give a slightly reduced rate to those who park off site or do not have a vehicle) so if you have a park and go out - you know it will still be available on return.

We are travelling around NZ on a motorcycle and arrived at the motel after a very wet ride and were delighted to find that the parking was under cover. The room was small but very clean, quiet and the motel amazingly close to the centre of Dunedin. A great bonus when travelling as we are, allowing us to walk out for meals and most of the places of interest. We were made very welcome by the management and staff. Excellent value.

For the price and position, what's not to like

Location was only 10-15 mins walk to city - other stores -_Briscoes, Rebel Spirt,Spitlight,Noel leemings only 5-7mins from motel -1 block Sth cross roAd to East and all are within the block. Countdown 10-12mins walk - Moray Place - quicker access via Great king Street

Missed Sky TV no access to Sky TV for price paid Most other motels of this price range have sky tv their guests

Friendly and helpful staff. Laundry facilities & detergent provided: freedom to do your own washing. Extra items provided in the room like air fresher, hand sanitising liquid & free wifi.

The busy rose painting on the wall. Preferred a plain white wall.

The property is old but clean and had everything you need cleverly built in to every nook and cranny. The location is amazing. It is only a short walk to city centre where you can find all you need.

Nothing but keep a close eye out for the signage to the car park which is down an alley way.

The room was spacious, had a little kitchenette, a great bathroom with a good shower in it. The bed was comfortable and you didn't hear much noise when inside your room which is a bonus. There was heating available and warmed the room quickly. I loved the wee bonus of starbuck coffee pods and a Nespresso maker. I liked being greeted at the door and my key was ready, nothing was a problem, parking was easy and a great location.

We liked the two good sized bedrooms and the equipped kitchen, walking distance to some restaurants/bakeries and a park. The late check-in process was very easy.

The underground parking was a little tight to access but smaller cars would probably have no trouble.

Absolutely loved the room. We had the 3 bedroom apartment and it just felt like home. The kitchen was amazing, a full kitchen with everything we have at home. Two bathrooms was a bonus with amazing shower and hot water. Central location was a definite plus. The view from our windows was amazing

I like the place simple and comfortable. Has a free parking and wifi highly recommend and I will be back for aire. The Korean receptionist is easily to be approach if there's anything you need.

If there is,, maybe the room heater or I just don't know how to operate it... Hehehehe

Got a wee upgrade which was awesome. Something more suitable for our wee family. Nice wee spot close to town

Could hear other people banging around in the morning. Could also do with some more cleaning. Things like skirting boards.
