Alhambra Oaks Motor Lodge

Lovely big room, bath as well as shower, daily servicing, friendly and helpful staff, laundry on site, convenient location to walk to city or gardens. We have stayed here before and were very happy to return.

Shower water came at high angle and hard to control the pressure - but that's a very small problem in an otherwise excellent stay.

The lady at the reception is lovely. She helped us carry our luggages and agreed to keep them while we went to explore Dunedin. She was patient and gave us a room downstairs when she saw that we arrived with a lot of luggages. We stayed for 2 nights and the room was cleaned after the first night. Not many accommodation does that. The bed was comfortable and warm with layers of blankets. We enjoy the facilities and services provided.

I wish there was drinking water available on site.

Room is well appointed and comfortable. Love the location as it is close but not too close to everything we need. The folks there are always friendly and super helpful. We would definitely recommend for leisure or work.

The only request I would make is to change the hair dryer - the old wall-mounted option that you have to keep pressing a button to stay on is not great and it always grabs my hair. That is my only wee grumble though!

Spacious rooms, well equipped, warm and clean, great location, easy parking, great value and very friendly and helpful team.

Towels and pillowcases are a bit old. I always bring my own towels, and occasionally I need to use the ones provided by the hotel/motel. Not very happy with the bath towels provided. Everything else is very good！

Very friendly, approachable and accommodating (possibly) owner? of the motel. She went over and above communicating about extra bed options before we even arrived for our stay, ensuring our needs were met from the get go. Lovely, spacious, light and simply decorated rooms and spaces that were very suitable for us as a family and our small children. Wonderful, accessible spot to stay. Would definitely recommend and stay again ourselves.

There was no rubbish bin in the kitchen only in the bathroom. This was difficult at times if someone else was in the bathroom and I wanted to deposit rubbish. The room was also quite noisy. The lock seemed quite flimsy- we arrived back to the room to find 2 men hanging around in that little corner outside our room but they moved off when we arrived. Security caused us some concern.

The Alhambra is in a great location near the university and easy walking distance into town. The room size is very large and comfortable. We especially loved the street level room with car parking outside of our door. The proprietor was super friendly and helpful with close locations for dinners. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Location was great, it was clean and had all we needed for one night. The kids loved the bubble spa bath.

Bathroom was strange. You nearly bang your head on the protruding piece that ran along the wall when you squat on the toilet. Toilet paper was on the wall behind the toilet which made it hard to reach. I slept in the room with twin single beds, and there was no bedside table to put anything on which I found quite unusual.

Handy location to city

Bathroom is like 1 big wet area. designed for wheelchairs - too wet for me. plus not 1 hook to hang clothes while showering- toilet seat only spot out of wet floors tea towels are so small - not suitable for drying dishes. 1 wine galas had a ground down chip and there are no extras with cutlery or dishes so no chance to share a wine with any visitors. No hairdryer

The Manager/owner Donna was so lovely and welcoming, friendly and helpful I felt at home more than in rental accommodation. The studio unit was clean and compact and the bed was so comfortable. Location excellent and value for money will stay there again without hesitation
